    I know there’s always a bit of cynicism about with the launch of boards like this, but in the few times I’ve taken it out so far I really like my kbd twin fin, easy to paddle onto waves and very responsive - I can see a lot of love has gone into the design great stuff mate.

    Congratulations Kale, so great to see someone putting energy into designing mid length boards. It must be the most under appreciated section of everyone's quiver and probably the boards the majority of surfers should be spending a lot (or at least some) of their time on. So much scope for development between 6'8" - 7'10", can't believe it has been ignored for so long by so many surfers and designers. Nice looking boards and great surfing by the way. All the best with Kale Brock Surfboards. TC (Tony Crimmins Surfboards, Scotts Head NSW Aus)

    VERY impressed with how all of your expertise and experience has been channeled into these boards. What I love is that you are/and have been very open at every stage of your development. In my opinion this launch really needs no justification- it is natural progression to fill a genuine need with certain surfers who need your support. I was lucky enough to have a few sessions on Kales 6”6 last week at one of his pool retreats. I have had ridden two other mid lengths in the past. This board definitely had more rocker and felt like it had more performance. The rails are not too thick and it still has volume in the board where you need it. Definitely keen on picking up one of these when funds permit. I recon it would suit a punchy beach break as well as a mellow point break. I saw Kale and another surf coach absolutely ripping on them in the flesh.

    Great video Kale and those boards looking good. As a matter of interest, I picked up a set of Futures Solus fins by chance from a mate of mine. I found the regular fins didnt quite match my middie ( 6'7) and thought i would give them a go .......Its as if they were made for a mid length thruster setup . Changed the drive and turning ability. Maybe get your hands on a set if they are in the old stock at Futures - All the best mate .

    I paused it on 7:42 to go get a coffee and came back and was shocked at how critical that turn is on a mid length, like properly on rail, don't think real time does that turn justice. Fair play. I'm 44 and not ready to accept the mid length story yet. I only started surfing 6 years ago at 38 so my whole goal was to be on a HPSB and surfing in the pocket as long as I can. Then the performance mid length will be the go to in a few years I'm sure haha

    Back in the 70's I rode a "Fat Albert" 5'11" by John Arnold in Sth. Aust. a cheap "Pop out" single fin and seriously that thing could take on anything regardless of size and it would never let go and it was because of the deep flexible single fin which would hold it in the wave flex as you hit the bottom and it would send you right back up to the top with so much force you were vertical against the wave, magic board, I was young and a lot better surfer than I am now and I have had some very fond memories of that board, just wish I looked after it better, I also liked Gravelles tear drop shape, had one years ago really nice board, could really throw it around, so, I think alot of these boards are personal choice, if it works for you , it works for you, regardless of shape.

    Can you get the thruster in 6 4 4 glassing?

    • @KalesBroccoli
      @KalesBroccoli  28 дней назад +1

      Currently we’re not doing custom jobs as we’re pretty confident in all the specs. But I believe we match your request anyway 😊
      PU is 6oz E Glass bottom and 2 x 4oz E Glass deck.
      EPS is 6oz bottom and 4ozE + 4ozS glass deck.

    I wonder how the thruster version compares to a Parmenter Stubb Vector as far as performance goes.

    Great board, great final concept. I realized 30 years ago, the best board for Kelly or Rob Machado isn't the best board for 95% of the other surfers on the planet. Since my airs didn't ever include full rotations, the best board was different for me, too. If you're doing full rotation airs, a pro-tour style tri is the go-to for a reason. Otherwise, I can do straight airs, reverses and carving 360s on a 6' 5" quad. So why sacrifice the massive loss in paddle power? If you're thinking of grinding it out on the qs? Good luck, go get 'em! Otherwise a board like this is for the 95% that you might find yourself in, like me. Best thing you could ride. (Twins are faster than tris, too.)

      Epoxy is much more durable and light, but it should have stringer

    How does this board feel different from the chili mid strength?

    • @KalesBroccoli

      Fuller better paddle and in my biased opinion easier performance
