- After quite a lot of technical issues, here is my SUMMER SKETCHBOOK TOUR!!! 💪😃 Hope the video quality is not too bad and that the sound levels and weird things happening in the video won’t bother you too much. I am doing my best. 😊

We won’t necessarily settle there as I can be crowded but the neighborhood is full of nice cafes and things to sketch. 😊
The closer Metro Stations are Mabillon (Line 10, Saint Germain des Près (Line 4), Odéon (Line 10 and 4). Slightly further on Line 7 is Pont Neuf Station and on Line 1 Louvre-Rivoli Station. 😊

Thank you so much for the tip about gluing a piece of paper onto a sketchbook page!! I wanted to sketch today but I had an off page I didn't like in my book and I didn't know how to move on. Such a simple solution! I love your videos!

Your work inspires me. Petey (the Amazon parrot) says "hello"- he still loves your voice. I just completed fabrication of 3 sketchbooks out of fabriano paper- took me about 3 weeks to construct them. I now have new admiration for bookmakers - it was a lot of work.

@@FollowingtheWhiteRabbit You are welcome to use the photo. Petey is your biggest fan & giggles whenever your videos are playing. You're right, I should use the sketchbooks, but they are kind of precious after all the work (I bound them in cloth that was heat sealed & used special book glue after sewing in the signatures)- killed my hands. But they are one of a kind! Oh, and that modified kimono robe you like in the photo is my creation from some Kafe fasset milifiore material. I like to work with fabric.

I love all your creative ideas! I love how you highlighted the flamingo with the dark blue background. So cool! The candle painted with gouache turned out great! The collage elements and stamping with the fern make the pages look unique. The pretty music is soothing.

@@FollowingtheWhiteRabbit I am fine, thank you! I really have fun doing the Inktober-challenge, but I'm still have to try other sketching-methodes. Actually I only use fineliners and I want to try more sketching with ink and combine the waterproof and non-waterproof versions, like you do 😀
Hey, sounds great!! 👍 I think that’s a bit normal, as it’s already a challenge to sketch everyday, that you rely on what you are used to. The other techniques can be a joker when you are not inspired but you can still explore them afterward. 😊

@@FollowingtheWhiteRabbit I figured out that the colored pencils you used in this video (around 4:22) were not [watercolor] pencils. Excuse me for that. (Oops. Lol) When you mentioned about Derwent pencils, I automatically thought that’s [watercolor] pencils because you used [watersoluble] Derwent pencils before. However -- Yes, Colored pencil drawing is childish and looks unprofessional but So Cute!! Around 4:22, brown, navy blue, ochre … your color choice? usage? of your colored pencils looked refreshing and interesting to me. Sorry about the confusion. 😭

Hum, j'essaie de chercher l'inspiration "à tous les râteliers". 😝 🤣 Toutes les techniques, tous les sujets et essayer de développer toujours et encore le reflex créatif. 😊 Quand je ne suis pas inspirée pour le dessin, faire des photos, ou le contraire, quand je ne me sens pas de faire une aquarelle, des doodle comic cartoon... ça renouvelle l'inspiration, éveille la curiosité d'essayer toujours différentes choses et les différentes disciplines s'enrichissent les unes les autres. 😊 Bises !! 😘

Did you keep going with the running habit?! 😅 I didn't. 😳 In fact, I never ran in my life before so I guess in was still a win for me to run several days in a row and to try it for a while but it was difficult to fit in the schedule and to motivate myself, and now that fall is here, ha hum!!! 😅 😉 About the comic/cartoon character, I think you are totally right. The most difficult is to make them look the same in every drawing. 😅 I guess it's a professional skill so we can just try our best! 😌 Maybe it's even more difficult with painting and you can start like me more doodling first (like drawing them ten times for practice rather than taking the time to add the watercolor at first) to build the character? Professional illustrator create this kind of model where you see the character from different angles and with different posture as a reference... 😊
My gouache are from the brand Linel. I think the shop owner said they were OK when I bought them. 😊 Like maybe not the very best but still nice to practice with. I didn't buy a set, just 3 primaries plus white. But when Maru Godas made us use gouache last year at the symposium, she made us use few colors but not really primaries, more like ochre, red brick (venetian / indian red?), and kind of turquoise/teal not too bright blue color and it was really really nice. I really loved it. 😆 If I buy some new tubes, it will still be for a restricted palette but more with these subtle hues. I might also buy a darker color, probably not black but something like payne grey, just to be able to get darker values easier sometimes. 😊 Hope that help my dear! 😘
I used to live in Gent, thanks so much for the sketch and photos, it made me miss it a lot! Also, I love the way there are so many styles of drawing and media in your sketchbook.

Hi Moon Ram, Thank you!! Hum, I DON'T recommend Noodlers Polar Brown if you are searching for a waterproof one. It's not. 😬 😓 I discovered at the symposium, though, the Rohrer & Klingner sketchink. They have nice subtle color and they are waterproof for real. 😊 I just checked, they even have different kind of brown/sepia shades. A dark brown called Thea amzn.to/2yzzOED , a lighter greenish brown called Lilly amzn.to/2EPIe0f and a burgundy color called Jules. amzn.to/2Jl5fGZ You can see how the colors look in here. www.fountainfeder.eu/2017/12/20/rohrer-klingner-sketchink/ 😊 Hope that helps! 😁

I only tried the Polar Brown and a blue ink that was not waterproof either ever if it was supposed to do I don’t really trust Noodler’s anymore. 😬
@@FollowingtheWhiteRabbit Well, I find that Noodlers inks waterproofness is sometimes dependent on paper and drying time. One suggestion was to dilute it just a touch. This makes it sink into paper faster , so it dries faster and becomes waterproof. That works for me. U can try it on the papers u use. Do let me know if it works for you. Happy sketching 😊😊
