This has to be the best video on the internet. Ive been struggling a bit lately with depression and lately the only thing that's helped is BG3 🤣 Shadowheart is my favorite character so i decided to look up Jen English on RUclips hoping to come across some behind the scenes or something but i found this and this is way better than anything else!! I never ever grow tired of witnessing two people basking in the glow of each others' love. It gives me renewed hope for my waning faith in humanity. And holy shit - Jen looks absolutely adorable and radiant with her hair up. Really reveals the stunning beauty of her captivating eyes. A classic beauty....
As a dude from the US I just want you to know you two are great people and I love your streams. And I have played through bg3 twice now and am still enjoying the game, its my game of the year for sure, thank you for your amazing work on the game.
It's so wholesome watching you struggle and overcome the game's caveats, I don't normally watch streams but I'm loving this, and you gals are such a fantastic couple!
This was so fun!! You guys are getting much better! Keep it up! One advice; one of you should walk around and explore, and the other one should follow. This would make the exploring way easier and you guys can change who'll do the exploring from time to time as well. The map is very big, otherwise, it might get confusing! ❤️
To all the cast and crew: this game will follow you FOREVER. You will forever be identified with this game because it is the pinnacle of game design and a best-seller to boot.
it's not a bad game. but i wouldnt call it "the pinnacle of game design". for once it includes the nefarious invisible barrier many 3d games suffer from. where your characters can easily climb over some surfaces that are 50cm tall.....but are unable to even jump(literally using the jump action) over certain surfaces that are no taller than 30cm.
I hope they continue to have a lot of success after this and it sets the standard for other future games. I'll be supporting indie studios 100% after this. That's where the real quality is.
@@sabin97 that's not a game design flaw... lmao. Not every game needs to be open world environments. Sit down and think about how exactly this game would benefit from you being able to climb every surface? The answer is that it wouldn't. That's not the point of the game. Also Larian packs a ton of detail and environmental storytelling in their maps, this game would never have come out if they had to do that for a world that allowed you to go anywhere you can see - for one it's just not possible, and for two that's not what you do in a Dungeon's and Dragons game
@@zynthio it IS a game design flaw. areas where your character cannot step on, should be obvious. "Sit down and think about how exactly this game would benefit from you being able to climb every surface?" that has nothing to do with what i said. you're attacking a straw man of your own creation. "Larian packs a ton of detail and environmental storytelling in their maps" except the details of where your characters can and cant step on. which is a very common flaw in 3d games. "that allowed you to go anywhere you can see" again that has nothing to do with anything i said. you keep attacking a straw man of your own creation.
It’s so endearing watching you both learn this game as you go along, can’t wait to see more. One piece of advice I’d like to offer as well: I know that with the streaming of the game to literally thousands of people that it can probably be rather stressful making sure you do everything right, but there really aren’t any wrong choices in this game, and if you do make a choice and you don’t like the consequences, you can just load and do it again. You’re already getting into the habit of saying often so as long as you keep that up, it’s all good ^^
What a delightful stream :-) Thank you for sharing this. For the record, Shadowheart is one of my favorite characters in gaming. Such a nuanced character and Jennifer's subtle performance won me over.
Can’t believe I hadn’t watched this yet, this is the most delightful thing I’ve witnessed in a long time. The care you two have for each other and the way you allow yourselves to just be your ADHD selves is so healing to watch, especially having ADHD and rejection sensitivity myself. I’m so excited to watch this whole series, so grateful to the both of you for your work on this amazing game and letting us share this experience with you 🥰💖
I remember watching this on twitch while playing a game with friends and checking back often to see you guys still on the Nautiloid then on the beach after an hour and just chuckling. The game is a complicated for newbies (such as myself for the first time) but can be even more difficult even video games aren’t your typical go-to things! So I’m glad you guys took your time with the game and chat.
Good old Sharty Farts! Thanks Jen. I've done a playthrough with Lae'zel, Karlach and Astarion, just coming to the end of a playthrough with Karlach, Gale and Shadowheart. It's been great and I have thoroughly enjoyed Shadowhearts story. Thank you for bringing her to life.
This was lots of fun to watch! You two did great, especially as new gamers and streamers. Learning to game alone can be a lot, especially with a challenging game like BG3. Take your time, and don't worry - just watching others experience something we love for the first time is fun no matter what. As a suggestion, if you can, find an experienced BG3 gamer you know (and above all, who is a patient, good teacher). They can answer questions as they come up, and explain what all the random circles and arrows mean a little at a time. It might be easier with just one person explaining instead of a thousand speaking with lag. And it'll make learning a lot less stressful so you can go at your own pace and focus more on what you want to do and instead of how to do it. Side note: Loved the little neurodiverse bits. It can mean a lot to see others similar to you who are so accomplished!
Looks like an ADHD nightmare to learn how to play a game while streaming at the same time (and with another person too). Would recommend learning basic controls and navigating the world on your own and off stream (to limit amount of stimuli) and THEN playing together and with an audience (or even doing so as a warm up before streaming). Love you guys and your content! Thanks for your work on bg3
You two are the cutest. I loved the moment where you both figured out what turn based meant, that had me cackling 😂. Im new to this stuff too and watching the split screen kinda fried my brain but you two were entertaining! Also... I swear Jen has the exact same brain as me! I'm diagnosed autistic but I'm pretty sure that I also have ADHD. It drives me nuts..
Oh, this is amazing and wholesome and just wonderful. Thank you for sharing! Honestly, I'd watch the pair of you just for the sheer cuteness even without the behind-the-scenes look into the making of BG3 😍
Thanks for the upload, appreciate the work as always ❤ don't feel bad for being slow to learn this game. It is so easy to miss things, even when you know DnD mechanics. I'm still discovering new things after 200+ hours of playing. As long as you're having fun, you're not doing anything wrong :)
"We did that! And now we've got a Mind Flayer!" LOL I cracked up because for some reason it made me think about the Archer animated series, where his mother was like "Do you want ants? This is how we get ants!" Yep...that's how my brain works. Also....the Intellect Devourer just prancing around in the background during Shadowheart's intro conversation was just hilarious.
Awesome. DnD can be overwhelming. With Pen and Paper DnD, this is usually facilitated by a new player being surrounded by experiemced players all helping them along. On top of that youve got the technical issues with livestreaming. You did great with both!
Glad i found this video. The game itself is quite a challenge for beginner so don't worry with how explorer mode has been changed i think you two can complete the games. Hope more bg3 video come soon. Cheers
"Mysteriously Goofy"...LOL. I saw you made 41+ of these, so I had to start...that's serious commitment. Can't wait to see how you guys have locked-in in future videos, as you master your setup/controls.
I’m very late to watching but this is the best stream ever ❤❤❤ I’ve played a lot of games but BG3 was quite overwhelming when I first started, so I can only imagine how you guys found it! But watching you learn with the help of the chat is so pure. Also your reactions to finding Shadowheart were great 😂
Ooft. Failure sensitivity. I messed up at work. It was a small thing but it took me like 3 days to get over it. When it was clear my coworkers were over it 5 minutes later.
Alright, I have not finished the video yet (I'm at the mark where you wake up after the nautiloid crash) so I don't know if you two are going to keep going on this series, but if you are (which me and probably everyone who watched this video would be ecstatic about) I'd like to give you some tips and remind you some of the core gameplay parts so that you can understand more of what's going on on your screen and maybe even start doing creative things which is the real magic of this game. Don't get scared when you click on "show more" because you sort of understand this game's core mechanics, but it is very easy to miss crucial stuff when there is so much information going on in your screen. Buckle up because this is going to be a long one, sorry for the headaches in advance. 99% of the time, moving around or doing combat while you're at the max zoom out capacity is a good idea. This is because when the camera is closer to your character you see a much more narrow area of the environment you're in, limiting your environmental awareness as a player. If you play zoomed out you will see a much wider area which in turn can benefit you more both in combat and out of combat adventuring. Actions (which is the green dot at the bottom of your screen in combat) is your most valuable "currency" in combat. 99% of the time your most valuable moves will "consume" an action. These include but are not limited to: attacking, casting powerful spells, casting cantrips and dashing. Bonus actions on the other hand (which is the orange triangle at the bottom) are your lesser impactful actions. These include and again not limited to: pushing, jumping, drinking potions, dipping your weapon on fire/toxin etc. and some of the weaker spells (like Shadowheart's Healing Word). When you open your actions wheel (the circular interface you have with all the different choices in it) you will notice that some of these options glow green and some them glow orange. This is to distinguish which of these options consume a regular action (green) and which consume bonus action (orange). Consuming an action means that you have to wait until the next turn for these actions to replenish, so when you think you have spent your actions thoroughly and optimally, you end the turn and wait so that everyone completes their action and the game loops back to you for your turn. Spell casters such as J's sorcerer also has spell slots, allowing you to cast powerful spells. These spells not only consume your action but a spell slot too. To replenish these spell slots you must do a "long rest", you will get to that point later on and it is easy to grasp so your chat can guide you through it dont worry. Movement in combat is hard to get used to. In combat, just like actions and bonus actions you will also see a yellow movement indicator on the bottom of your screen with a number on it. This is, again, a resource you have a limited supply of on each individual turn. Base movement capacity is 9 meters but some characters with special traits can have more than this. When your character walks 9 meters and the indicator says "movement 0", your character can't move until the next turn. Also if you indicate a place that is farther than your movement capacity can reach, there will be a line on the ground. The white portion of that line shows the movement your character will go through once you confirm it. If there is a red portion on this line, that means the character will go to the end of that white line but stop at the end due to them reaching the movement capacity. These is also the mechanic of "oppurtunity attacks". If you and an enemy are in melee range of each other, and then one of you tries to leave this melee attack zone, the "fleeing" character will get automatically attacked. Think of it as turning your back to flee in the middle of a sword duel, of course the opponent will take the chance and swing for a hit to you. This can be prevented with the action "retreat" but like "dash" it is an action that enables repositioning options at the expanse of disabling you to do powerful moves. There are many, many more mechanics and intricasies on this game but these are the main things to look out for once you're beginning your adventure. This game is seriously complex and you will mess up MANY times. Just don't let that get to you because I can confidently say as very beginner gamers you have done incredibly well and tanked through the extremely overwhelming amount of information floating on your screen. I have been gaming for 20 years, ever since I was a toddler, and even I had many hiccups where I just forgot a core mechanic of the game and got punished for it. Good luck on your adventure and hope to see more of this awesome series.
Two huge parts of your struggle were 1) the controllers, which have a much steeper learning curve than keyboard and mouse control and 2) learning the game while also learning to stream both from a technical and an interactive point of view. You did great and it's very entertaining and you're so supportive of each other and the community it's very inspiring.
the difficulty curve on this game is exponentially higher on playstation lol, they tried their best adapting the UI for controller but it was always gonna be a hot mess
I’m loving following along as you both play! As a father of two bi children, I appreciate the bi visibility day shoutout as well. Finally, my feedback as a RUclips watcher is that I prefer chat off. It is distracting more than interesting, but play and stream however you want!
I am happily giggeling everytime you proclaim BingBong, it just makes me happy! Or sometimes I try my favourite Shadowheart "Exactly", peak D&D that one^^
One of the video team from Eurogamer, a gaming channel, was completely lost playing this. So don't worry about being bad or not knowing what you're doing...you aren't the only ones, even professionals can be clueless! 😂
So awesome! You've got this, at one point it'll all click in!. And you're even playing it on console which does have a more difficult interface in my opinion than mouse and keyboard.
D&D, and likewise BG3, has a lot of information to take in when you're starting out. It can be overwhelming for new players. Just take your time and remember to read your spells and abilities before using them. Eventually everything will start to click for you. And if you mess up, just roll with it! That's part of the fun! I've been playing D&D with friends and family about once every two weeks on average for well over a decade and there's still stuff I screw up. Don't let it bother you! 🙂
Y'all are so lovely and it's an absolute joy watching you learn and enjoy this game and interact with the community 💜 also as someone who also neuro-spicy queer, has RSD *and* Failure Sensitivity (possibly have ADHD but not been officially diagnosed yet; getting a diagnosis in the US is a pain), I really appreciate how open you both are about it, how it makes you feel and how you handle it. Watching y'alls VODs the last couple of days has been a breath of fresh air and I really hope I'm able to catch a future stream! Bing Bong!
About the chat, it is usually better if the chat is off if there are a lot of messages coming in. In my honest opinion, then it is usually best if you just read the message you are responding to, like you have been doing, to give the context
I hope you two play this till the end if you enjoy it because it's gonna be a journey of immense scope for everyone involved. I haven't played on playstation in over a decade but already constantly feel like the big brother taking the controller off of you and doing it myself, hahah!
I got adhd and still get extremely confused with games even though ive been pkaying since i was like 2 y/o. re-learning how to play video games after so long with a very extensive and complicated game is definitely learning on hard mode hehe. so dont be ashamed of taking your time to figure it out!
I found and watched the first High Rollers. Amazing! I loved it. Especially *_Melty McMetal hands_* I laughed way too hard with that one. The looks on their faces when they saw some "American football mascots" really going at it 🤣 I'm an American, so I can say that. 😂 Gotta love being ND. Usually, when I feel twitchy and/or in a weird mood, it's because I either need to eat, drink, go to the bathroom, people won't leave me alone, it's too bright, too loud, I'm too hot, I'm too cold, or I can feel a lone hair clinging to my back. It's just figuring out which one is making me agitated... *Gale!* *Astarion!* My two bois 😍🥴
I had trouble with left and right too. Because it is relative, it never made sense to me. So when someone would ask me for directions, you'd better know your cardinal directions, because i will tell you to go north east south west. I must have been like 25 before i forced myself to learn it.

I had no idea Jennifer English voiced Latenna in Elden Ring. One of my favorite characters! I followed her all the way to the end
Damn me too from now every time I will play elden ring I will hear shadowheart in Latenna I just cannot unhear her now lol
It's so wholesome watching you struggle and overcome the game's caveats, I don't normally watch streams but I'm loving this, and you gals are such a fantastic couple!
I enjoy the repeated reference to the Short DnD campaign Jen took part in with the rest of the cast where she befriended Bing Bong the Imp
It's always really enjoyable to see people discover the joy of gaming - and in particular get excited following their first victory.
"Is this the right sphincter?" is probably not a sentence she ever thought she'd say.
@@zynthio
it IS a game design flaw.
areas where your character cannot step on, should be obvious.
"Sit down and think about how exactly this game would benefit from you being able to climb every surface?"
that has nothing to do with what i said. you're attacking a straw man of your own creation.
"Larian packs a ton of detail and environmental storytelling in their maps"
except the details of where your characters can and cant step on. which is a very common flaw in 3d games.
"that allowed you to go anywhere you can see"
again that has nothing to do with anything i said. you keep attacking a straw man of your own creation.
@@sabin97Very odd thing to find issue with...
So I’m glad you guys took your time with the game and chat.
so endearing to watch the two of you having fun! 💛 i'll be tuning in to this while studying, thank you for uploading the VOD~
Ayo, same-day upload to youtube?? You guys are the best
Watching you both play is so fun and chaotic, please do more
Oh phew, I'd started watching the vod then couldn't find it to continue, thanks for uploading it here!
How do children learn gaming these days.... and can you olay any other game after starting with bg3. I started with textadventures back than.
So fun to watch you play this, can't wait for more
Oh, this is amazing and wholesome and just wonderful.
You are both incredibly entertaning and its been great to watch you both learn and have fun
Fun fact if you play as Karlach (or any barbarian I believe) you can actually rip pods door open with bare hands. Which is incredibly cool :)
please continue this playthrough it was very entertaining
ohhh i was listening to this stream vod whilst working and i noticed you changed the name to this channel! I love it!! ❤
Thank you guys doing this! You guys did a great job and were very entertaining to watch.
Jen and Aliona are literally learning this on hardmode becuase the controller controls are IMHO much harder than keyboard and mouse.
Glad i found this video. The game itself is quite a challenge for beginner so don't worry with how explorer mode has been changed i think you two can complete the games. Hope more bg3 video come soon. Cheers
This is an insanely difficult game to be your first experience, sooo much to think about
Oh my gosh i wish i caught these streams live before because hearing Aliona talk about rejection sensitivity makes me feel so validated
Also your reactions to finding Shadowheart were great 😂
i love how happy she got when she found shadowheart
Just have fun, dying is alright and there is no wrong way to play the game, I'm so happy watching this.
Gonna multiclass Shadowheart into a Pact of the Chain warlock in my game and make my own Bing Bong DLC
I have ADHD and I can see the ADHD moments 😂
Tbf, you were learning two things at the same time, playing the game and live streaming it.
Ooft.
Failure sensitivity. I messed up at work. It was a small thing but it took me like 3 days to get over it. When it was clear my coworkers were over it 5 minutes later.
funny that bing bong is now canon. love you guys! "you're my sphincter" that's love ♥
You two are so much fun! Lol, I was half expecting you to be as stern and serious as Shadowheart in real life, for some reason. xD
the moment she descovered what "turn-base" means was adorable :))
Playing this on a controller is torture for someone with years of experience, imagine trying for the first time. Just keep trying you will learn
Porting this game to console was such an ambitious undertaking and honestly I'm not sure if it ever was going to work exactly right. Clunk abounds.
Don't forget, every turn you can do 3 things, like when you played the table version.. an action, a bonus action and a movement
This is hilarious. I've been playing games 20 years and it took me 15h to figure out you could jump outside of battle 😁🤦
I have difficulty knowing my left from right, it's a sign of dyslexia, which I have.
Ver Rismol is amazing and I love you two so much already.
POV your actual girlfriend is actual Shadowheart.
the difficulty curve on this game is exponentially higher on playstation lol, they tried their best adapting the UI for controller but it was always gonna be a hot mess
The ADHD echolalia Bing-Bongs at the start brings me so much joy XD
I’m loving following along as you both play! As a father of two bi children, I appreciate the bi visibility day shoutout as well.
Finally, my feedback as a RUclips watcher is that I prefer chat off. It is distracting more than interesting, but play and stream however you want!
This is such a wholesome stream. 🎉
"BING BONG!" I legit laughed out loud. Was not expecting that reference.
I would love if my girlfriend asked, "Is this the right sphincter?" LOL
I'm now watching their first combat. I can't decide if it's too painful to watch or too funny to stop. 😂 Good stuff.
everyone in the chat: open the sphincter
aliona: i love how no one is telling us how to get out of here...
Lady of Sorrows guide us... did you need something?
My roomie over 70 is catching onto the game. you two will be fine 😁
I didn't bother wasting my time with silly runes, as my barbarian I simply ripped the door off the hinges and she was free.
Y'all are so lovely and it's an absolute joy watching you learn and enjoy this game and interact with the community 💜
also as someone who also neuro-spicy queer, has RSD *and* Failure Sensitivity (possibly have ADHD but not been officially diagnosed yet; getting a diagnosis in the US is a pain), I really appreciate how open you both are about it, how it makes you feel and how you handle it.
[56:26] "I think the chat is the Dark Urge"
lol, how true of almost every gaming stream...
omg, continue making these
I hope you two play this till the end if you enjoy it because it's gonna be a journey of immense scope for everyone involved. I haven't played on playstation in over a decade but already constantly feel like the big brother taking the controller off of you and doing it myself, hahah!
150 hours of stream... until they reach chapter 2?... count me in.
The two of them are absolutely marvellous but I can not deny that watching game at this point is INCREDIBLY frustrating. I am sure, they'll improve.
We need a whole album of Jen’s little improvised jingles 😂
You girls are the cutest couple on the planet i swear!!! I hope Jen does more voice acting for games...World of Warcraft would be amazing!
I got adhd and still get extremely confused with games even though ive been pkaying since i was like 2 y/o. re-learning how to play video games after so long with a very extensive and complicated game is definitely learning on hard mode hehe. so dont be ashamed of taking your time to figure it out!
You both are so cool and cute together! I hope you continue enjoying playing this game :D
I found and watched the first High Rollers. Amazing! I loved it. Especially *_Melty McMetal hands_* I laughed way too hard with that one.
The looks on their faces when they saw some "American football mascots" really going at it 🤣 I'm an American, so I can say that. 😂
Gotta love being ND.
First. Love this! Very excited
Us is fan favourite character xD That's how you know everyone did a great job making this game when a walking talking brain thing is a fav haha.
They're adorable together!
Okay, next time I go to get my hair done I am going to do the same thing Aliona did, ask them to make it Gayer.
I had trouble with left and right too.
Because it is relative, it never made sense to me.
So when someone would ask me for directions, you'd better know your cardinal directions, because i will tell you to go north east south west.
I must have been like 25 before i forced myself to learn it.
This game definitely controls better on pc, its quite a complicated game to put on consoles
It becomes intuitive once you get the hang of it, but it was clearly made with a mouse and keyboard in mind, like civilization or the sims.
take your time, it take's awhile to get used to the game, don't worry about making mistakes, it's part of the journey :)
