    La Tuna Canyon, Sun Valley, Ca. Used to keep my horses boarded up there! Almost every episode had a slow- motion freeway scene on the unfinished 210 Foothill Freeway which dead-ended at Paxton Street. LOVE 1978!

    When I see movies & tv shows from back then including the 80's when a a service station is shown I look at the prices, wow those were the days. Interesting knowing this gas station still there except as a brand name. I'm enjoying these videos.

      Yep. Decades of one party majority rule. But the people who continue voting for those fools only have themselves to blame. Then again, they'll continue voting for the "free" *hit, but the smart ones will continue the exodus in droves--leaving behind a welfare state, poverty, homelessness, criminal activity...with crooked politicians riding it to the bottom and blaming it on the free market and personal freedoms. Very sad, indeed. Thanks for your service, Sir.

      @Captain Hargrove- I know what you mean. Back in the 80s, it was way easier for cops to get away with beating people, planting drugs and everything you see cops being tried/fired for these days. Too many cameras around now. If it wasn't for that damn Rodney King video!🤔 hmmm

      I grew up in the Antelope Valley in the 70's. I recently went back, and it is nothing like it used to be. It used to be mostly mid to upper class people working out at Edwards or Lockheed in the aerospace program. Now it's mostly a bunch of drug addicts and welfare recipients.

    • @tommatthews9126

      Our gas in south FL is pretty close to a dollar less than what they charge for gas in CA but pretty much everything in CA is way overpriced. That's why for the first time ever there are more people leaving CA than are coming in, and the ones leaving are taking the money with them vs those coming in which are largely dependent on The System. Pretty soon things are gonna catch up and CA won't be able to sustain itself. That's what DEMOCRAT rule gets you.

Were also far less than today's prices. Seven Mary Adam out. I use to watch this show alot back in its prime. It was one of tons of the great tv show's that we dont have anymore of sad to say. But i now watch Blue Bloods it is now thee cool cop tv show. Now if they in Hollywood would reboot the old to new One Adam 12 that would be great .

    A time before fuel emissions inspections, water meters, and a world of uncertainty. BTW, back then gas was both leaded and unleaded as well as having the other higher octanes and diesel. Here Leaded gas (86) is 57¢, while unleaded gas (87) is 60¢..... unleaded today $3.29 ÷ unleaded yesteryear 60¢ = 5 3/10ths times the difference over a 35 year span..... Truly a different world today than that of yesteryear late 70's....

    • @jamesrudd8705
      @jamesrudd8705 5 лет назад +1

      CHIPS was late 70s. Leaded gas was already gone by then. Emissions standards had been in effect for several years.

    • @the430movie
      @the430movie 5 лет назад +4

      I lived through that period, I'm 52 years old, I know, as I experienced those times. There were still leaded gas pumps at select stations. Emission requirements for "inspections' had yet to be implemented in NY State. And there was no recycling program in effect untilabout the mid 80's! The water meters came about the exit of gov Carey and entry of Mario Cuomo... MFG decline was progressing in US for a few years already because of automation and out sourcing, we were going through the coldest winter's back to back in over a few decades... A phone call at a booth was still a dime, and a gallon of milk was about $1.30 a movie at the time was about $1.50 to $1.75. home entertainment was selectavision disc player, and Atari 2600 gaming system. Woolworths, Two Guys, TSS were the stores you shopped at. A pair of sneakers was about $15 to $25.... If you would like to know more about a time when America was truly great, just ask me, and I will try to accommodate as best as I can..... ;-)

    Love the video but what would have made it even better would be to put where the actual location is, (10817 La Tuna Canyon Rd / 9056 Sunland Blvd)

    The smog back then was atrocious. ...especially in the earlier years. We have come a long way with much better air quality....as for the gas prices, we will never see those prices again, especially in California. ....funny how we can drive to Bullhead City Az, and gas prices just last week were at $2.49 gal, and their gas is delivered from California. ....hmmm. what's wrong with this picture? I think we all know.....
