I have three roommates who never wanna play board games with me amidst this pandemic, so watching these kinda makes me feel like I am playing with someone, even if I am just spectating. So thank you for that, I love the channel.

I love the open ended questions with this game. “What’s the smell?” “What’s the sound?” “What’s that thing over there?” “What’s the predominant colour at this location?” Rather than just yes or no questions are fun. Playing this game a lot you get the same list of questions so this is giving me new ideas before games night this week haha

I tried playing this with my parents and in-laws at Christmas 2 years ago. They were so confused and hated it. I was losing my mind saying, 'it's so simple!'
Everyone on there is so lovely, but man Blair is such a gem.

Every single time Adam plays spyfall he asks the questions that will give the most information to the spy if they answer the question correctly. That combined with the very helpful tabel talk I feel like Adam is just secretly always on the spy's team. Never tell the spy what a "good answer" is. The people who know what it is will know it's a good answer. You can say that something is a good answer when it's not, but that might throw shade at you.
A thing I didn’t think would be as fun is going back to see what the spy was asked and what they asked
This game sessions feel like a such sweet vengeance against Oli.
I'm starting to feel bad for Oli....
Bought this game quite a while and quite a few Adam channels ago. Finally got a chance to play and had a blast. Now a favorite amongst friends. So much it has been bought as a birthday present.
I've played this with my family a bunch through the free website version. It's fun. One of the rules we play with is that after the 8 minutes we all cumulatively get one last guess. The rules say we each individually have a chance to accuse, but that seems silly considering we all have to agree anyway and all the discussion can be done with one vote. It's also interesting that the spy gets more points if the wrong person is guessed which adds an element where they might choose not to guess the location.
Another great episode of Board Game Club. Can't wait for the next one.

My friend bought me a copy of a very similar game called The Mole for Christmas. The concept is the same except the places are a lot more risque, from the Titanic to a Brothel to Hitler's Bunker. Also the questions are written on cards, everyone gets dealt 5 and you play them (although you can just play without the cards if you want)
I think it's a bit worse because the locations are mostly a bit wacky so it can be kind of easy to work out the spy if they give obviously wrong information, there's less ambiguity in the possible answers for some locations.
Still a hell of a lot of fun. We played for about 2 and a half hours, we played for so long that we forgot to eat the freshly made Apple Pie so take that as you will.

i have this game, but i never play it because the problem is that there are so many locations and the only way you can play as the spy is by memorising ALL the locations

Do people assign their own role at the location?
Not that this changes the winner, but the scoring says the person who first called out the spy gets 2 points, not 1. But wow, does this game make you think. I can see this being a cable game show, don't know who would be the best fit, though.
When I see tom, why do I think bond villain?
the Cats movie has a few decent moments but overall its a horror show >< give it a watch but then watch the original stage show version too!

Does the Spy have a list of possible locations that they can see, or do they just have to guess?
Yes - there is an app version which has it on screen, which is maybe an advantage vs the physical version. For the first few plays of the game physically I tend to insist on a pause where the list of locations is passed round so the spy doesn't have to ask to see it (which is a bit of a giveaway)
In the physical game, the location list is in the middle spread of the rulebook. But it's pretty damn hard for the spy to keep referring to it without giving themselves away.
@@ProdigalGeek Really, there should be some form of physical hand out for all players which maybe lets people who aren't the spy try and deliberately pitch their answers in ways that satisfy a few locations. Just photocopying the list is one thing, but that's a bit big to give to everybody
