Absolutely perfect day 1 and 2 from Patters, Kohav bossed the mid-late game. Angela, despite a few iffy kill choices (purely due to being comparatively inexperienced), managed to nicely stay out of trouble and let the minions be the vocal ones, and Ken stayed dead silent until the end.
Great work team evil.
Honestly I don't know how the NRB players didn't notice Ken being pretty much silent rather than his usual complete mad lad self. Although I guess this was overall a much more serious tone than the NRB plays clocktower, and John also seemed a good bit less animated than usual, so maybe they kinda assumed that was why.
Patters and Kohav for MVP. That was some of the best minion play I have seen and patters just did it with chaos.
Patters is chaotic while Kohav is calculated. Yet somehow their styles complimented each other nicely and they ran the whole game without stepping on each other's toes.

So obviously Patters played an incredible game, but Kohav did a ton of work here
Kohav got away with her bluff early on because of how much disinformation Patters spread. She did a good job info gathering with Ken + throwing sus on the correct theory
yea, and ken managed to get most of the roles right and fed that info to his team.
Jon being outarged by Patters lying and toying with him was adorable 😂 he is pure chaos
Jon unravels so much every time any player good or evil lies to him and it really just incentivises everyone to lie to him more (which I am not complainaing about)
Kohav sniping correct protections left and right, Patters being his usual chaos goblin self, and Angela, bless her, dug herself through the confusion and did the one thing an overwhelmed demon should do: Staying calm and not panic.
Skills is so good. Nails the whole game in day 5. Best townsfolk.
And patters, we need a minion just named patters he's so good at it. (Maybe become a alive townsfolk and have their ability) because he said he was like 6 different characters
Each night, pick a good character, different from last night. Gain that character ability, but you are mad that you are this character.
I think he claimed like 6 different characters on the first day alone 😂 Grandmother, Gambler, Godfather, implied Saint, Dreamer, Philosopher, AND got Holly executed while she was bluffing as the Saint, ruining her reputation, and got Isaac to doubt his Dreamer info to boot!
Could be like the Masked Man (or gender neutral term) where their ability is they can pick a person and it poisons them for the day plus steals their ability. It would need a downside though so it isn’t just a better poisoner.

Patters with that insane play convincing the Lunatic she's the Demon while getting out of her the other "Minion". Absolutely incredible.

Kohav and Patters were truly MVPs on this. Solid minion team wielding Chaos and Careful Calculation. And kudos to Skillz for basically solving it Day 5.
Absolutely masterful game from patters- one of his best for sure. Also kudos to angela for an amazing first-time demon run!! She played it so calm and level-headed. Brilliant work all around.
Evil played extremely well, but good also threw unbelievably hard. I feel like they knew who was incredibly suspicious but kept getting sidetracked and always nominated someone else based off a more recent but less overall suspicious claim.
Like Patters lied so much day one and then pretended to be a mutant that wasn't executed, which just isn't believable when so many players were still alive. And the presence of a devil's advocate was not unlikely because the ST had no way of knowing that the philo would choose pacifist (also a rather questionable choice since it's subject to ST choice, which generally benefits evil especially early game).
Good job to Skilz for figuring it all out and at least giving good a chance of winning. It's incredible that good got that much information given the circumstances, imagine if Isaac was killed instead of Jacqui.
Kohav: I think (3 entirely accurate roles), I also think (2 more guesses of perfect accuracy), fucking fantastic
Yeah but I am inclined to think that people who usually get these ‘guesses’ suspiciously right are cheating by reading the chat.
An absolutely bonkers of a game for Angela's first demon run!
I super disagree with Ben not protecting any good executions besides Isaac, especially the Mayor. Having a Philosopher pick to be the Pacifist and Ben not protecting any good players because it can hide the evil players protected by the DA is SPECIFICALLY the opposite of what a townsfolk ability is supposed to do. Yes, you should help evil in the beginning, but not allowing a townsfolk ability work to help evil is what outsiders are for. Saving Isaac because it might confuse people into thinking he's DA protected is also not what a townsfolk ability is for.
The Philo chose a role that put them in the hands of the STs. That's on them

Love it. I've avidly devoured the content of both these groups, so seeing them collide is delightful. Though I honestly hope that Patters never learns how to tweak Jon or Isaac if they play together again, because no one, much less Patters, should be trusted with such powers of chaos.

The fact that the minions did all the heavy lifting meanwhile Ken was just chillin with the good team filling the info, and the actual demon for a majority of the game was confused. It was hella hilarious
First time seeing Patters in action after watching the NRB BOTC playlist but he shows how the most impressive way to bluff is to simply do it with confidence. How you say eventually becomes more important than what you say. Holly and Ken are other players who constantly misinform and get away with it because they don’t second guess themselves even when they’re proven wrong. It actually makes other players doubt their own legit info. I will try to check out more videos on this channel as I really enjoyed this one. 😊

Gosh, nice of all these people to guest star on the Patters show. That gameplay was SO insane. Absolute chef’s kiss convincing Angela to never talk to her other minion. He even did it without asking her who it was, because that could have been sus.
It’s funny how an entire two hour game can completely swing on a single, tiny decision. What if Angela was convinced she was the lunatic? What if Ken hadn’t instantly jumped to Angela? What if the philosopher hadn’t picked pacifist? What if multiple people hadn’t claimed to have philosopher drunked Isaac? Each of these would have been a completely different game, even with the same players being assigned the same roles.
Now that I generally understand how Blood on the Clocktower works ... Awesome scripts like this are so exciting.

Tyler made an amazing choice going for Pacifist straight out of the gate, that was very smart. Basically insurance for the good team if they started really tanking. It's only unfortunate that the Devil's Advocate happened to be in play this game, but without any knowledge of other players that was a really smart pick
Was it? Even without a DA in play I bet Ben wouldn't trigger it unless he thought doing so would benefit the good team as little as possible
@@TheFinalChapters it doesnt even need the DA in the game... there are a ton of other roles on the script that might cause someone to survive execution... sailor, fool, tea lady, leech... and of course there are roles that might register as good like the spy
if he really wanted to hard confirm someone as good, he should have gone for professor or virgin... those two are hard to fake (professor would require a shabaloth and virgin would require a witch to self curse on day one or a spy to sacrifice themselves)
another amazing option would have been courtier or exorcist to shut down key people on the evil side...
Angela is great as a demon, because she plays such a simple game and here she got carried by patters and kohav (and Ken to a degree). It seems like she is overwhelmed most of the time, but she actually handles it really well in the end. Well done evil!
Yeah, even though she was unsure of some of the mechanics aspects she played an amazing social game, staying calm when she was being accused, and remaining under the radar and out of the way of her minions. Solid gameplay right there.
D1: patters pretends to be dreamer and says that the outsider is in fact not one and is a minion. Claims philo dreamer later
D2: claims to be investigator with pings on the person they got executed and someone else
D3: Claims fortune teller. Claims to have been lying in order to target people he has social reads on
Isaac and Patters in one game is absolutely wild and I love it
Josh and Tyler both played like minions until Skillz showed Tyler the light. Regardless, too much dead weight for Skillz to carry.
Ken and Isaac on the same game, this was fated to be pure chaos even without such a bonkers script

Tom and Ben is such a great team. Bens play is excellent and Tom is so great at getting Ben to explain his intentions which really is helpful to new people like me 😀
The funniest part is that the Cerenovus is literally on this script and not a damn person suspected Patters could just be Cerelocked.

Just once, I wanna see a Philosopher turn into a Tinker.
That's almost as bad as something like chef on day two with a chef already claimed
Given the plan they were JUST discussing prior to 19:50, they should've made the Philosopher the Drunk! That way, the "Pacifist does nothing" angle actually aligns with the game rules without the Storyteller having to nosell a player power.

1:44:21 This is exactly why to not Drunk the Pacifist! He said he "probably" won't proc Pacifist's ability. If Ben had made them drunk, he would've painted himself into a corner and not be able to change the game flow here. A role that kills (or protects) just doesn't work when drunk/poisoned, but the roles that get info can get any combination of good and/or bad info.
We need a script called Tomfoolery with the Fang Gu, Sentinel, Baron, Godfather, and Balloonist

Although he also took the heat off of Kohav and people's minds off of a devil's advocate by saying he thought he was responsible for Patters' survival. Which was part of what got Isaac executed in the first place, since he was gunning for Patters as being the baron.

the conversation when the philo turns pacifist is so annoying to me lol. Like, how is this character not an outsider with how most storytellers play it? Philo uses their ability to try to help town, and before any of the game starts, they go "ok lets mess him up entirely and use his ability to hurt town". How is that fair, especially to a philisopher. I would reward the ballsy play, or at least wait until the gamestate is revealed. The immediate "lets hurt town with this" is bothersome
Most of what I've seen of storytellers is usually them helping evil and either giving useless info to good or outright hindering them every step. They say it's cause evil is outnumbered, but really it just turns the game into 5 evil players, except 2 of them are in control of the game. It's especially annoying when good makes a great play and the storytellers nullify it just cause they feel like it

There was one comment at 2:00:01 by Ken that he thought it was a spy game because the start of the game saw a lot of powerful characters get targeted. Which is a brag, really, but also that the kills got chaotic after that (which was after the Fang Gu jump).
When they talk about the spy covering their tracks with the more random kills they were inadvertently dunking on Angela.
He just said that to make his claim of fortune teller stronger and I don't think he even though about who else got killed. I mean the only person he killed was himself which isn't much to brag about, is it?

Only up to night 2 but I had a question, mostly for Ben but any Storytellers can answer, if the Demon jump happens before the barber swap shouldn't the new Demon choose the swap? Or is this an edge case rule/jinx made specifically because of the problems that having the new Demon choose the swap can have?
Not a storyteller but from what I understand, barber refers to "the demon" (singular). So Ken, gets to make that choice and because it wasn't used, the ability fizzles
He did go on about whether or not to give Angela that choice but his only obligation is to give that choice to Ken (she'd still think she was the demon as lunatic since Barber wasn't outed at all)
Angela’s confusion brings up a Lunatic Question for me.
Can the Lunatic be told they are the demon, then be told they are the Fangu and their alignment shifted when it didn’t, as part of the ploy to convince them they are the demon?
Yep. You can pretty much do anything that might happen to a demon. Although I find being subtle is often better than trying to do weird, grandiose stuff. One interesting thing I say once was an Outsider on S&V being turned into the Lunatic. An Outsider can become the Fang Gu if they're attacked by one, so we told them that they were the Fang Gu.
@@bennburns i only ask because that falls within the telling the demon they arent the demon range to convince them they are the demon.

@@bennburns Is it plausible to tell a lunatic that someone else is the lunatic? As that would keep real demons questioning their own legitimacy in situations where they are a demon who have been informed of a lunatic
@@Hazzarius yes, but then the ST may end up essentially choosing the deaths at night. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it should be noted.
@@bennburns You mean because the ST has to lie about who the supposed lunatic killed, which likely causes the lunatic to pick the same target, which likely causes the real demon to pick the same target? Isn't it quite common that demons just ignore what the lunatic does, having two demons pick the same target as the lunatic isn't super likely? At least not for long?
This was very fun to watch. The app looks great. Patters really dodged a bullet when Angela forgot he should have known who the other minion was. Jon's lore was funny too, and I wish I could have seen what Isaac was so excitedly saying at the beginning on day 4.
I have some questions: if a lunatic is turned into a minion or a demon, does the storyteller have to tell them they are good? Also, on night 1, could Ken have swapped himself with a minion, meaning there would be 2 living Fang Gus in the game? Also, I saw people in the chat saying Angela should have been in charge of the barber swap. Was that a mistake?
Everyone will always know which side they're playing on at all times. The single exception to this rule is the lunatic, so if you stop being the lunatic you will immediately be told which side you are on. I believe there was a mistake for the barber swap, the demon kill happens before the barber swap so Angela should have been the one to swap. The fact that Ken technically could have swapped himself for a minion would make this fact obvious, because there's really no answer to how that would work.
Note that I'm not an expert story teller so I might be wrong about things here, but that's how I've come to understand the rules.

So with Ken deciding. I think it was done properly only because it happened during the day. But I could be completely wrong. For example if a minion killed the barber in the night I think that's the time that it would happen that night. But I could be wrong. But if that is what happened then the order would be the swap and then the fungus turn which would be handed over to the minion. So in that case Angela would never be attacked by Ken and there's only one fengu.

I'm only 19 minutes in, so I'll see how it shakes out in the end. tbeh discussing immediately after a town uses their ability how you're going to use it to fuck them over is a bit rough, especially in a game where the evil team could get to 8 strong via fang gu jumps.
Edit: Nevermind, apparently I've been watching some really old streams under older rules, where the Fang Gu could jump more than once, evil cannot get that big.

Seeing this game makes me wonder: would it be possible to have characters who could take on roles that could be considered 'out-of-world', i.e. a character outside of the crafted script?
Additionally, I thought up a role or two and would love to hear possible feedback!
Minion: The Plague Bearer [If you die during the day, at night, choose a living player. If a Townsfolk, they become the new Plague Bearer and are evil.]
Demon: The Void [You have the abilities of an out-of-world Demon, and register as that Demon. All players start knowing the Void is in play.]
I'd be very curious to see if TPI would work with these kinds of characters or expand on the idea of out-of-world roles.
I guess atheists and amnesiacs can already do that.
Both of your ideas sound fun, but think of the in-game-balance. With the Atheist token in play other rules can be broken, but there are no evil characters in play. The Amnesiac can have any ability that is not unique to another character, but they do not know their ability, again, balance is key.
Your Plague Bearer could swamp the board with evil characters, completely negating any chance of Good winning. There are only a few roles that can disrupt the voting behaviour, mostly involving a competition or blind luck. Butler, Goon, Fang Gu if outsiders are in play and only with first jump, unaware Lunatic, Cult Leader, you get the drift. If you want a bigger team, look at a legion game.
The Void is a problem in itself, two demons are just too strong. That is why deaths are arbitrary if the Pit Hag creates a new demon. And a reason why minion kills are very rare and restrictive.
It's the storytellers job to keep both sides in check and make it an enjoyable experience for everyone. Your suggestions might be a bit too evil friendly.
Edit: Sorry, I think I got your Void wrong. And it's a bit of a conundrum, really. Most scripts seem to be written with demons and minions in mind. Why would you give this minion other powers. Why would you give out the leech power if no other characters could cause poison or drunkenness? Why would you force players to look at information outside the script to figure out what demon might be in use? Seems not very player friendly.

can i Suggest a character: TOWN LOOKOUT (OUSIDER): You start Knowing Which Outsiders are in play. if the Demon dies and Outsiders outnumber Townfolk, only outsiders win [+1 outsider]
It's an interesting idea - it would force the Townsfolk to execute either the Lookout or sufficient Outsiders before the Demon if they wanted the win. I think calling it the Lookout doesn't really fit the role, though - I'd call it something like Demagogue, Malcontent or Rabble-Rouser.

Turning all into a three factions game. I don't think I enjoy that idea. Is the ability persistent after execution/death? Actively asking after outsiders might get you in trouble fast.
Most groups might not be large enough to see much outsider play. But give it a go, add all the outsiders and give a Godfather a hell of a time.

Twenty minutes in, I disagree with your decision that Tyler's ability should be a pure downside for the good team - he's a Townsfolk, not an Outsider. If you wanted to do this, you had the perfect opportunity to just make him the Drunk.
I have absolutely no idea what you're referring to. Any chance you can timestamp this for some context? As far as I remember, Tyler's ability did have an impact for the good team.
@@bennburns Starting around 18:23, you say that because Kohav's Devil's Advocate ability (a player of evil's choice cannot be killed by execution) overlaps with Tyler's Pacifist ability (a good player might not be killed by execution), you're inclined not to have Tyler's ability trigger. One of the two reasons you cite for this is that Tyler would be inclined to defend people saved by Kohav - people evil doesn't want to die. If you were considering giving Tyler the downside of Pacifist (introducing uncertainty about people saved from execution by evil) without the upside (protecting good players from execution), I think you should have just made Tyler the Drunk instead of Josh.

I don't agree with this assessment, but even if I did, I think you'll find that this isn't the case if you keep watching. After all, "I might be inclined to" and "I am definitely going to" do not mean the same thing, as you'll no doubt find later on in the video.

It doesn’t seem quite fair for a player to not-be on video when others are. The anime stand-in seems counter to a social game when everyone else has facial expressions and can read faces. Sorry, but especially for a minion it seems unfair. And a little cringe tbh.
It's even less fair to force people who are uncomfortable being on camera to use a webcam. Keep in mind, while these people are all just strangers on the internet to you, to me and the rest of the crew they are our friends and we care more about them having fun than we do about attaining victory at all costs.

@@gameshowman1234I don't think anyone is read by a facial expression. Also, nobody is forced to be on camera. Those that do know they are disadvantaging themselves
