Techinically it was him letting them know he had chosen randomly, that cost him the game. As that information cause them to play to their outs and pick the square they did.

Close, it was "What's That Noshin' on My Laig?" which is just objectively funnier.
Each time Sully damaged a boat piece (not necessarily destroyed) all crew members on the piece are supposed to fall in, and he *should* have gotten a free attack. I believe that happened 3 times.
Given that it was really down to the wire, I'm going to declare Sully victorious on that one.
If that was the case he super won then.

Firstly, the crew is meant to take advantage of the game's definition of "adjacent" to attack the water space they think the shark will appear from and not all stand on the very tile they presume Sully will attack. Second is understanding the shark's Bonus Attack rule. The shark does not automatically attack everyone in the water at the end of the round. Only crew members that are in "adjacent" water spaces can be attacked.
Plot twist: there was never a shark, it was just a dude with a fin tied to his back 🤔
Imagine that: you think you're hunting a singing shark but it's just a dude having a nice time with a fin on his back. Tragedy.

2 things they did wrong in Act 2:
Moving from a Water Space onto an adjacent Boat space requires climbing back onto the boat and takes both of your moves.
If a space is damaged or broken, all crew members on the space are supposed to fall into the water.

Huh? What are you talking about? He played it terribly. The spaces they were gonna attack were incredibly telegraphed and obvious.
@@Higgs2244The "obvious" choices were the ones with the greatest advantage for him anyhow so it was objectively correct to choose them, and he would have won if they didn't make a few rules errors in the end that all benefited the players over the shark. Plus, he let himself lose in the end for fun.
@@chrismanuel9768 except when your choosing between a free weak attack on the boat, and a risky slightly better attack, the risky option is absolutely not the one that gives the greatest advantage. He played to keep the game close, not to win, at any point.

According to wikipedia, the brown shark (more commonly known as the sandbar shark) is one of the safest sharks to swim with. Sadly, there are no confirmed cases of brown sharks singing.

They should play the game with the big plastic shark filled with debris, and whose jaw is held with a rubber band. If you take out too much debris, the jaw slams shut, and you lose. That game gave me more jump scares than Concentration.
Actually that's given me an idea for a new house rules. "Crocodile Dentist with a real Crocodile"!

This would've been so one-sided if they fought on Chelsea, but they fought on normal sea.
sully really needs to learn about the saying "rome wasn't build in one day." because if he chose some sea tiles with less dice he was safe and would tear the boat down safely.
You could *feel* the player's tension as the game progressed. Definitely will look into this one!
Dom gets away with a sneaky extra action on top of his already extra action. Around the 25-minute mark. Makes things interesting.
He takes five actions total, if I count correctly, saves swimmer, saves swimmer, move, use fish finder, and then finally (clumsy), moves again (that characters moveaction is move up to 2 spaces).
I thought he moved, saved swimmers, moved again, fishfinder (5 actions then, I don't think splitting a move action is allowed), THEN claimed his extra extra action.
@@dragonangl2161 I have rewatched it, he ends the turn before on the beach space. So no need to move before saving swimmers. But you are right in that you can't splitt an action.
Love how the end of that tale is just the lone woman on the planks of a boat with a bloody machete and a song stuck in her head painting over the horror she survived replaying itself again and again “I’m having a nice time” 😂 honestly, that would be an amazing end to a solid horror flick 🔥

I can’t forgive Sullivan. It’s unacceptable for him to flood the entire room and star biting everyone just because he’s “method acting”.
Even if you target the correct space, you are NOT obligated to attack. When Sully revealed his evade 3 ability, you really should have abstained from firing your weapons.
Also, you can only play one Chum card during a round, but due to the wasted resources during the round where you broke that rule, I'd say you got appropriately punished.

Here's an idea for a potential intro of a 1st of April video: put googly eyes on all of the silhouettes in the intro
1:29:20 Sully can only attack the boat section of the tile he's on, since the water section he's on is not adjacent to the boat sections of any other tiles. Effectively, this means the shark can't attack adjacent tiles when they're on an undamaged tile.

At first I thought they'd get 2 games in as the 1st phase went incredibly quickly but that end phase seemed to go on forever

They probably didn't expect it, but Sully is a force to be reckoned with.
Fun fact: Amity Island isn't a real place (shocker), but the map for this game is based on the filming location of the movie, Martha's Vineyard, which is an island off the coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts (and also happens to be where I grew up). Also, the lighthouse featured on the back of the event deck (and on the map in the southwest of the island) is actually a real lighthouse that looks exactly as depicted on the card and in the location on the map in the town of Aquinnah.
Also "we're so desperate for tourism because we don't have a McDonald's" is not itself an accurate statement, but the island has a tourism based economy and does not have a single McDonald's in any of its towns

I played this game every year around July 4th since it came out. It's crazy how every game comes down to the wire everytime.

About Jaws the game. I like this game but haven't played it myself and have no real desire to as everytime I've watched it played it looks just way too easy for the shark. Yes I realize that's not what happened here but I think they missed a rule there. Anyway it just feels like there are too many ways for the shark to murder the people and in contrast the crew just have too many obstacles to overcome. Target the right space, roll well, beat the evade value in addition after all that don't fall in the water and don't die. Perhaps I'm missing something hard for the shark to do but it generally feels like it just needs to pop out max twice per side and win the game. Alternatively just murder the people by easily chomping them to bits. I'm not saying it's not a fun game though. Becaue I'm having a good time... oh no...oh no... send help!
