At our local Cornish village spring fete we all gathered together to watch your latest televisual broadcast on the village’s new RUclips machine. Once the boiler was fired up, and the steam was up to pressure we all marvelled at the ‘moving pictures’ that it portrayed. Story about saying "macbeth" in a theatre: When I was in high school doing tech for a musical, someone had said the name of the scottish play on stage, and the next day during rehearsal, a huge (but well-secured) chandelier prop came crashing down from the rafters. One of the students was supposed to be standing in that exact spot but missed their cue because of a costume malfunction. He would've been hospitalized no doubt...
Another story - I was part of the cast, the narrator in this case, of my drama group's production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and it was our first year using headmics on the main cast (I think, might have been the second). Someone named the Scottish Play backstage the night of the show, and one scene in there was a power cut. The show must go on, of course, and the older among us may have started doing a crash course/reminder on vocal projection backstage, and during the interval we did what we could remember of the ritual to remove the curse (not caring that it was a bit gross out). The power came back during the final scene... which just made all the prompting being done from side stage audible 😅
@@matthew_thefallen Take whoever named the Scottish Play outside, have them spin around 3 times and/or walk around the building counterclockwise, spit on the ground, curse if you're not a child (a step we skipped because it was a kid), then knock on the door and ask to be let back in.
