One rule for AIRMATIC cars I follow is that if the struts didn't get replaced yet and it has more than 100k miles, it's going to fail soon. Even if someone tells you they replaced it, I don't believe it unless they have the receipt. But once you replace, you'll be good for a while! 🙂 The W221 is an amazing car for the money. It's worth keeping and fixing the air suspension- it does provide a REALLY nice ride. If your car has the iPod option in the glove box, you can get a nice Bluetooth streaming option and it'll almost be like factory. Thanks for the video! Very nice car 🙂
Thanks for the uplifting response. I just bought a 2008 Mercedes S550 and the problems on this channel were scaring me. Please tell me where to find the Bluetooth option for the IPod connection.
Petr this would have been a great candidate to show the 10&2 and 12&6 tire trick and show how much movement there is on the ball joints. I know you have repaired them, but maybe you can remember in the future, you never forget on the other channel! haha.
Get a good camera shot of the ball joint when the car is sitting on the ground. It will probably be leaned all the way over. It's possible the air ride lack of air wore the ball joint faster. Could always ditch the air suspension for coil overs. Could put an electric pressure gage with alarm on the air ride system.
@@geofffikar3417 Maybe they were careful? Maybe it didn't matter because the car rides too low. Look how this car sits, do an image search for this year, make and model. I noticed the excessive Sag when he raised the car. Imagine saggy boobies. They bounce and sway. Now lift them with a bra. They become firmer and in place. They hold tight in the turns. Might be my opinion but I think they look better and the same with cars.
But it really doesn't matter how it sits, if it makes the scrapes, something happened when it was low enough to scrape it. They are not careful with that much damage. @@Esteban_Herrera
I need your help have no fuel pressure No transfer pump run no HP fuel rail is dry. Is it possible that the ECU is telling the fuel to shut down completely? P0091,p2118,p0003,p0560 codes only
Look at the wheel drop when lifting the car. Way too much. Those wheels don't belong on that car. It should have 18" or 19" wheels with 255/45-R18 or 255/40R19 tires depending. You said the tire hits the fender when the air from the air ride leaks out. This could only happen if you have the wrong tire size. Would the engineers at Mercedes let this happen? The plastic fender well is sticking out from behind the fender.
My W221 S500 came from the factory with 255/35 ZR20 XL 8.5J×20H2 ET 43 front and rear. It looks beautiful, but I would go for more comfort with 19 or maybe 18 inch rims.
Yes I finally found a video that shows a car at the same symptoms as my w204. Just replace both my axles and it didn't do a thing.

Hi Peter, do you have a video while removing and confirming the problem solved.?
merci beaucoup
The bottom of that engine is really banged up. Wonder how many other
things are wrong that he lied about, telling Peter everything was fine.
I think the car sits too low.
@@Esteban_Herrera You are probably right, but whoever
drove it wasn't careful about scraping up the underside.

Wheels and tyres are bad. Be careful tyres don't go out on you. I would replace the set first thing.
