I always liked the idea that there could be a timeline where Ash succeeded in the first generation, and that’s where his journey ended. Then the anime focused on a different main cast until the Journey’s equivalent where all 8 protagonists make up the masters 8

This rewrite was amazing the only thing I would change is 1. make Misty's match also 6 vs 6 and only her 2. Add A Eevee on ash team since it's the only Kanto starter that he doesn't have and it fits Ash really well ( in fact I think Kanto Ash have a Pokemon from each type)
I would adjust things with the Bug Catcher to go the route one of the novels did since the episode, did nothing wrong. In the novel, the Bug Catcher caught the Weedle rather than sticking a sword in Ash's face and letting it get away and alert the rest of the swarm. Regardless, I do love that Brock is taking a more active role as Ash's mentor in this. I also love how keeping Primeape and training it accidentally opens up an old wound for Charizard, and that is what causes him to be a jerk to Ash. In the anime, this felt like Charizard was a jerk for no reason. It isn't Ash improving as a trainer that causes Charizard to obey him, it's Ash winning him over with his kindness like he did with other Pokemon.

This is just a thought but maybe in Johto you could introduce the other two starting trainers that weren’t shown. We never knew who took the Bulbasaur and Charmander so it could be something interesting to explore since they probably knew Ash as well like Gary did.

Pretty good my only issue is the indigo plateau felt rushed and the elite four felt weak seriously they was no real strategy used by them. They basically used power moves only it seemed like they all had at least one Pokémon that used hyper beam. No status moves other than glare and no buff/debuff moves. I did like that Weezing used explosion. I definitely see the improvements you’ve made since this series. my fav of yours is what if ash and Paul traveler together in unova! Quick question did you use metal burst in the first hour I could have sworn you did? If so why not use any other generation moves? Also why the 2 days between each elite four battle?
When doing the project I only use move that were in gen one. Also as far as strategy remember, gen ones move pool wasn't that vast so you would be limited in what you could use

The anime pisses me off so much when it comes to the disobedience of charizard or other pokemon because all of that is dependent on what badges you have and having all but 1 badge SHOULD make charizard obey his every command.
I think many of the indigo league rules were pretty stupid..... such as switch pokemon equal you lost your pokemon..... your pokemon feel asleep/frozen equal game over. Thankfully many of the rules got rectfied in sliver league
