    Zillennial Life Crisis:. I liked your culture shock differences because they were personal to you. So many other videos like this feel like they are chastising Americans about what is wrong with the USA instead of the differences. You notice the kind of things that I would notice if I traveled. You found out that they were on point about Seattle's weather and how it can affect your mood. You explained daylight savings time perfectly. And you said it was interesting how there were no direct connection between sun and heat with the sun shining bright in the winter and it is still cold. That's like how I had to get it out of my head that because a city is located at or around the equator that it will automatically be hot all of the time. I totally enjoyed your video and I think many people will get a lot of useful information from it.

    I was looking on RUclips to find out how it is to live in Kenya for Americans and stumbled upon your video. You are right about America and in turn I learned about Kenya 😊😊 thank you. One thing you may want to mention is when you rent an apartment in the US and the lease is up, the rent may be higher when you want to renew. Why? It depends on the rental market. It the typical rent of apartments that looks like your apartment goes up in the area then your rent may go up a little because the owner wants to stay Competitive.

    I once read an easy way to understand Farenheight is to think of it as a percentage scale of heat so 0= absolutely no heat ie super freezing and 100 is super hot...so 70 is on the warmer side etc etc. It's what I use lol

    • @zillenniallife

      @@zillenniallife As someone in the sciences who has to translate a lot between the different metric systems, a quick way to roughly convert Fahrenheit to Celsius in your head is to remember "Subtract 30 and divide by 2" (this will get you within a few degrees), so 70F would be "70 - 30 = 40, and 40/2 = 20" so 70F is roughly 20C (in actuality it's 21C, but close enough for a mental conversion).
      If you wish to describe a temperature you know in Celsius to someone in the US using Fahrenheit, then you go in reverse: "Multiply by two and add 30" (this will also get you within a few degrees F). So maybe you feel like it's 5 C in Seattle and you want to warn your American friend, you'd go "5 times two is 10, and 10 + 30 is 40, or 40 F" Brr! This works for pretty much all normal human temperature ranges, and even negative values.

    • @PaleMist
      @PaleMist 2 года назад

      32 degrees Fahrenheit is when water becomes ice, 212 is when water becomes steam, 74-78 is room temperature, 98.7 or about that is human body temperature, Celsius = (Fahrenheit - 32) x 5/9, and Fahrenheit = (Celsius ÷ 5/9) +32.
      And that is all which you need.

Get you a credit card and use it to purchase gasoline and your groceries each month and make a full payment for those purchases when they send you your statement each month. You pay it fully each month so that you won't have to pay any interest. Before you notice you will have a good credit rating.

    I am from Seattle and now live in India, and it was fun listening to the differences.
    "Weather is trash" - This made me laugh hard because I know how it is in Seattle without much sunlight for awhile. It does seem to affect your mood and people have lower energy overall, but happy when the sun comes.
    They love cheese on everything- This is so true, we also don't have as much rice in the US as other countries
    Tons of dogs everywhere- Very true, my coworkers use to bring their dogs to the office and I would have about 3 dogs sitting around me while I work.
    Credit cards- I don't understand the concept myself and 99% of the time use my debit card too.

    Fahrenheit makes sense when you understand what it is calibrated for, which is outside weather. Celsius is calibrated from freezing to boiling, but how often do you really need to know what exact temperature water boils? Fahrenheit is calibrated from 0 meaning painfully cold outside, to 100 damn hot out. That's all there is to it.

      Lumber (wood) homes are alot faster and cheaper to build than all brick or concrete houses. That's why they are so common in America. Also, in much of Africa wood buildings are considered unsafe because of fires but fire protection is much stronger in America with fire dept.s everywhere.
