    I like how one of his points is trigger travel, if you didn’t already know the switch has digital triggers (only a press or no press) instead of analog (it knows when it’s in between full and no press), so clicks triggers are overall a better thing, the only upside I could see is setting custom activation depths on an analog controller but to my knowledge, that isn’t a feature on many controllers

  • @Stephano2005
    @Stephano2005 Год назад +3

    Honestly probably the best feeling first party controller atm IMO. I like the digital triggers and their feel, the very short distance is appreciated since there's no analog compatible games for the switch, so removing any unnecessary travel to make an input is nice. Although I would say if you're interested in getting a pro controller for the switch you might want to look into 8bitdo's recently released "Ultimate Bluetooth Controller" while I can't say anything from any first hand experiences since I don't own it, it seems like it may end up being a much better choice than Nintendo's offer. It's $70 (USD), so around the same price as most 1st party offerings. It has an offset stick layout, two programmable paddles in the back, there's a grippy texture on the back of the grips on it. It has motion controls, basic rumble (sad I suppose but idk that much), the ability to wake the console, a charging dock, 2.4g dongle for anything that doesn't use Bluetooth, analog triggers (can be changed in software to make full presses register quicker) so it can be used on PC games that support it. Most importantly though is that it uses Gulikit's hall effect analog sticks, for those unaware, these sticks use magnets to read analog input instead of standard potentiometers which overtime will lead to drift problems, magnets won't require any physical contact so that form of drift will likely not happen, or if so it will take significantly longer to happen than most modern controllers. Also it uses USB-C. If you're looking into something more Xbox in style you may want to look into Gulikit's King Kong 2 Pro controller.

    Honestly, it's funny because, it's my main controller, but I've got quite a lot of gripes about it.
    My main gripe is the price, it runs for almost 100$ where I live (Around 95$~ usually). The buttons feel kind of weird, it has some problems with compatibility out of the Switch, the D-pad is *extremely sensitive*, and kind of small too.

    If you have this over the gullikit 2 pro
    A) you got it gifted(aka as a gift on bday or something)
    B)you just prefer the stick feel of nintendos over gullikits
    C) you somehow cant live without the HD rumble
    Otherwise the gullikit 2 makes more sense, and with the dongle it comes out to the same price. Without the dongle its cheaper than the switch pro.

  • @TheBoltMaster456
    @TheBoltMaster456 Год назад

    The triggers are clicky because they're digital, not analog. Xbox and playstation controllers nowadays all have analog triggers, meaning it has variable input which changes based on how far you press them in. Digital triggers like the ones in the switch pro controllers are literally just buttons that are shaped like triggers, they have more travel distance than other buttons on the controller to feel better but they still behave like buttons which have a fixed input.
    This is generally not a problem outside of racing games though

    • @Sevicify
      @Sevicify 9 месяцев назад

      The triggers are far from perfect being digital only, that means it's at either 0% or 100% with no in between, which is why they can get away with such short travel.
      Xbox however has analog triggers that can be anything from 0% to 100% and is why they have so much travel to enhance the resolution, and it's a good thing because analog triggers offers more potential to developers and is very useful for example in driving games for gradual acceleration. Analog triggers also aren't inherently bad for shooters, if a developer wanted they could for example decide to have a gun shoot when the trigger is only pressed 25% of the way down so only a short travel would be needed.

  • @enzog1078

The reason why A new official pro controller costs 80 is probably because it also has gyro sense/motion control, amiibo support, and that it’s the more traditional controller of choice compared to a set of joycons. I definitely suggest getting a used but still good and/or great condition Pro Controller for 50$

    I got mine for $60 and I'm not complaining. For me it's kind of worth it, but I will admit that I prefer analog triggers instead.

    If you want to get a really good controller, I would 100% recommend a power a Controller, there's so many designs and it's cheaper

    I prefer the 8bitdo pro controller. It’s been better than the 2 Nintendo pros that I own.

    Just get the binbok controllers, theyre better than the original switch joycons, they have bluetooth, they are more comfortable and have led lights around the analog sticks. They only cost $40. Then you can buy the spine for like $10 or so. Instead of buying a pro controller for $80 buy all this for like $50 or so

    For me it wasn't worth it. The Delay and the Trigger are those two and only things, which led me to sell the pro controller at the end.
