Just came across this video again….WHAT A MEMORY! Our team will forever talk about this year! So many runners DNF’d due to the heat and exhaustion. We had to tie the finish line aid tent to a flat deck trailer so it didn’t take out the spectators at the staging area! And the PICKLES saved many a runner this year! This race is an epic annual event for us and we appreciate seeing this view and follow along with you as many of us never see beyond our aid tent! Thanks for sharing Jeff!
Looks like a fun race with spectacular scenery. I've only watched a few of your videos so far and I have to say this is becoming my favorite running channel. First rainy day we get I'll have to binge watch and get caught up with the rest of your videos :) Keep up the great work!
first off, thank you for being one of the only out-of-provincers to pronounce Saskatchewan correctly! Been watching you for a while now, cool to see you in my home province
The variety of footage really helps you to get a visceral sense of what looks like an incredible course - shots of the long lines of runners strung out across the landscape, of one or two runners in from of you, of the trail right at your feet, of the trail from high above, of the trail a few feet or a few hundred yards in front of you, etc.. Excellent editing and music! Good recap too. Thank you for taking us along on your run.
As someone who lives in Saskatchewan......WOW! I have never been to Sask Landing Provincial Park before, but it has been on our list of camping spots for a couple years now. Saskatchewan has so many hidden wonders where it completely shocks you when you see it. I often hear people say "that's Saskatchewan?" Anyways....enjoyed your video and thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful place. The only thing I knew about Saskatchewan before this was the wheat fields and open plains (I'm from Ireland). With a name like Beaver Flat I wasn't expecting this! A trail runners paradise. If I ever get to Canada I would love to do this. You did a fantastic job showcasing this Jeff, amazing and fourth place to boot. If you'd ditched the camera to get on the podium we would never have seen this so really appreciate it!! Your films are fast becoming my lunch time viewing here ;)
Another winner, Jeff. Love the way you tell the story of the race and the area while also providing little tips along the way. You're really honing your skills. Very proud to be a $ supporter of your work. Kudos.
These just keep getting better and better, Jeff. Whatever you did there at the 3:30 mark of the video looked amazing! Congrats on another great race and another fantastic video!
As always an amazing film of beautiful trails and scenery! Music matched it brilliantly too! Well done on your run and look forward as always to the next adventure!🙌🙌😃
Those hills looked SO punchy! And by the strava profile it sure was. Such a cool and unique race for that region of Canada for sure. I kind get Lake Sonoma vibes? Rolling, punchy, mostly packed and runnable, probably shaped and formed by similar geological effects. Thanks for taking us along!
So epic Jeff. Wonderful doc. Loved the music to this one and that drone footage of you heading to the finish was stunning. Thank you for sharing and taking the time to film during your race. Look forward to the next one!
I ran the course this past weekend and it’s every bit as beautiful as Jeff captures here, a must run for anyone within driving distance. Luckily it was 15*C and very mild winds, so it was a fantastic day.
This was awesome thank you! I live in AB but I’m from MB so I think I’ll check it out! Definitely looking at this for my first 50K thanks to this video.
Another great film Jeff! Loved the visuals of such a stunning landscape as well as your calm, composed attitude and friendly nature while running a race (aka training run)! The recap was much appreciated as a new ultra runner myself, it’s always great to hear how an elite athlete breaks down their run! 👍
Thanks for taking us along through this great scenery, and providing interesting background information as well. Keep up doing so! Looking forward to your Namibia race documentary, wishing you all the best and a safe race!
That 360 top-down view is such a surreal thing to get to witness Also, it's cool to get a comparison for elevation gains and distances vs the park where I hike/run. Brings a good amount of confidence to see that the overall gain per distance is only maybe ~200-300 more feet per 10k than what I'm used to. Very encouraging!
Great video, as expected! Nice track, different from the tipical mountain/forest combo. I especially liked the music in this one and I really enjoyed seeing Jeff having fun and enjoying the race without having to hit some predefined goal! All the best to all you runners our there!
Interesting race. A slice of Saskatchewan I would never have known about otherwise. I could definitely see why that might be similar to Yakima. Jealous of the Namibia trip: that country looks gorgeous.
Awesome video again Jeff. Thank you for documenting the race. I think that you should get some funding from the Tourism Board of SK for how you showcased the region! Quick question: where do you stash your GoPro and Insta X2 as you swap in between them?
Thanks Greg! I keep my GoPro in my front pockets, either my shorts or pack, and I shove my Insta360 on the pole in the back of my pack where the bladder would normally go.
Since I wasn't able to run it this year (I was wearing a beaver costume at race HQ instead), it's wonderful to see this to remind me how beautiful it is out there. Those hot and windy conditions though. 😬
Awesome. Exactly the kind of event i’d like to participate ! Seems to be runable…there are so many stone and rocks here into the Pyrenees ! I have been pacer past friday night during a 100 miles…
@@JeffPelletier we all want what we do not have...but anyway, hope i'll get the chance to see you when you'll come back in France...it would be a pleasure to share a run or a walk
I really like your videos, always giving me ideas, always pushing me for a next run. So as you're going to Namibia, can I ask if you ever considered the marathon des sables?
As soon as you said “In the hills of Saskatchewan “, and right before you actually said it, asked the very same question out loud…Saskatchewan has hills? I really wasn’t listening in geography class way back in high school!

Music and landscape matching perfect. Thanks Jeff for sharing.

Very well done video. I grew up in Swift and am excited to run this race hopefully this year
Awesome video as always! Loved the random scattered "hippy unicorns" cheering on top of mountains 🙂
great to watch. as usual. good luck for namibia.
Thank you!
Man, I never knew I wanted to go to Saskatchewan before now. Thanks a lot Jeff, now I have a new bucket list race
If you do triathlon, there’s a great race (Frank Dunn Triathlon - a bit longer than Olympic distance) in Prince Albert National Park as well.
Great doc. I've ran race 3 years and this was by far the toughest! But finished:)
Awesome video.. 2019 i was the last runner 😀😀

I've been trying to watch all your videos. They're great!!
Such a great movie, well done Jeff.
Thanks David!
Really beautiful !
Looks like a great run.
But my feet and legs cried in pain, just watching those steep ups- and downs 😀
Love it! Look forward to checking this out on Monday!!
Another great Video Jeff, thanks for the intro to Sask.
Thank you for posting this. You have inspired me to live a more healthier lifestyle.
Great film! And congratulations on a great race.
What a fun looking race! I love the supporters along the way!!!! Ultraraces are so great!!!! Thanks for another incredible video, Jeff!!!
This was definitely a fun race! The ultra running community is the best.
It is always inspiring watching you pick people off on a "B" race !! Thank you for that !!!
Epic stuff. Great that you could merge in that great drone footage of you running on the ridge.
These just keep getting better and better, Jeff. Whatever you did there at the 3:30 mark of the video looked amazing! Congrats on another great race and another fantastic video!
It was a hell of a day this year, looking fwd to seeing how you handled the heat and wind. 😖

Great video yet again Jeff! Well done and thanks for taking us along on the race. Inspiring!
Great video! Reminds me a bit of the Lost Soul Ultra in Lethbridge. Running all the coulees.
Yes! I’d like to do that race one day too.
This was my first thought! That’s an epic race.
Love it Jeff keep up the good work.

Thanks so much, really appreciate the kind words.
Great to watch this race, thanks!!! 😍👍🏻
Very cool video man! I am from Saskatchewan and this makes me want to start running just so I can experience this for myself. Super cool!

Thank you for bringing this run and Sasklanding to life. I was one of the last finishing.
Congrats on getting it done under such challenging conditions!

Thanks 🙏 Jeff. Another great video. Loving them. Currently have planter fasciitis and can’t run 🏃🏻♂️. Keep up the good work 👍🏃🏻♂️

Andrew killed it with those shots.
Interesting race. A slice of Saskatchewan I would never have known about otherwise. I could definitely see why that might be similar to Yakima. Jealous of the Namibia trip: that country looks gorgeous.
Great video as always Jeff!
Dude those last drones shots coming down that ridge!!! jeeeeez
Andrew did an amazing job with those drone shots for sure.
Great 50k documentary. Loved it! 🙌
Thanks Marius!
Great vibes; kudos for the music!
Glad you thought the music was a good fit!
Awesome! Would love to check this race out!
I enjoyed that, well done on putting it all on film Jeff. It looks an epic event & love the fact it's called the Beaver Flat 😂🏃
Thanks so much. Definitely not aptly named, almost ironic 😂
Can't wait!
Excited to watch this!

It was definitely a challenge this year! Loved the beaver costume.

Awesome. Exactly the kind of event i’d like to participate ! Seems to be runable…there are so many stone and rocks here into the Pyrenees ! I have been pacer past friday night during a 100 miles…

Great job! Great video!
Thanks!
I really like your videos, always giving me ideas, always pushing me for a next run. So as you're going to Namibia, can I ask if you ever considered the marathon des sables?
Hey Erwin, MDS is definitely high on my list for one day! It’s very expensive though 😬
Awesome... Congrats!!!
Thanks so much!
Awesome video! Curious, how are you getting drone footage of the race while also racing?!
Thanks David! The drone footage was provided by the race.
You and I have a different opinion on what a "fast course" is haha. Great video!
😉
dude...u should run and publish twice a day...loving the product
Please take me there 🥺🥺🥺 it looks nice scenery, I really wanna run there 😢
Your videos are amazing and love watching your adventures!
Are you using a drone? If so what one?
Thanks! In this video, the drone footage was provided by an employee of Saskatchewan Parks (it illegal to fly in Provincial Parks in Canada).
Another GREAT movie!
Who is the singer near the end of the video?
Cool area
Have you ever or are you ever planning on doing the Leadville 100?
I would like to run Leadville one day for sure!
Amazing video and beautiful scenery! Which Salomon vest are you using here? Any vest advice for someone running their first 50k next summer?
Amazing ! How did you manage to fit in drone shots ?
The drone footage was filmed by Andrew Hiltz. He just happened to catch me on that final ridge!
My calves cramped up watching this!! 😂😂. They still remember how hard it was this year!
😂
NZ crew checking in
As soon as you said “In the hills of Saskatchewan “, and right before you actually said it, asked the very same question out loud…Saskatchewan has hills? I really wasn’t listening in geography class way back in high school!
😂
Ok. I gotta ask. I see your right hand positioned to hold a selfie stick? But why can’t I see the pole/stick?
That’s the Insta360 camera which automatically removes the selfie stick from the shot, similar to the GoPro 360 Max.
Thanks for asking, 😀 i too have wondered this and hadnt got around to asking,😊
