Loved this! It genuinely makes me so happy to have this sense that this is the equivalent of adults playing outside all day just like we would as kids. Envious of the community you have in Vancouver and can't wait for the next one!
That’s 100% how I feel most times, especially when playing in the mud 😉. We really are lucky to have such a supportive and inspiring trail running community here in Vancouver.
A new long-form adventure video from Jeff is an instant click for me, loved this one! The dude who made himself a whole pie to eat an aid station is absolutely next-level, that is something I aspire to :D
Thank you so much for respecting the Quarry Rock closure! As a park ranger in North Vancouver we had so many people try to sneak onto the rock despite it being closed due to covid and deteriorating trail conditions. It’s back open now!
What an amazing film Jeff. Beautiful. Had to watch it all in one go! Love the support from your crew and the community you have. It's inspiring for me here in London UK with my first marathon in 8 weeks time. I watch your vids and think there are no limits and the possibilities are endless. Thank you for the creativity and story telling.
This is the perfect video because it not only showcases your running achievement, but you also share with us facts about the land you traversed. You immerse the viewer in your journey while concurrently allow future trailblazers to plan their own trips. Bravo, Jeff!!!
Jeff, you make beautiful videos. This one, in particular, is such an amazing tribute to the beauty that is the North Shore mountains. Thanks for bringing us along!
This is great. I will be retiring in a couple of years and thinking/wanting to do an ultra as a way to celebrate. This gives me a good idea at the pace to move at. Beautiful area. Also, you have an amazing comunity and your wife is awesome to support you.
Wow well done! I went to West-Canada in 2010 and since then Vancouver had been on my radar to maybe move there one day. It’s so awesome you have this beautiful wilderness literally in your backyard. Canada stole my heart and with this video I know why again. Have a great weekend!
Amazing. Great to see so many familiar views of the North Shore from when I lived in Vancouver many years ago. Thank you for sharing your story with us, you are an inspiration!
Wow, what an amazing trail and video!!!! I still don't know how you capture everything without falling. ;) Great job! **Oops, just saw the fall! Nice camera save!
You really earned my subscription and likes to your channel. Inspiring and motivational for me. This new year 2023 it's gonna be my biggest goal of life to quit smoking and start hiking this summer. Biggest fan now Jeff and wife ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That bowl of watermelons is like winning a simple pleasure trophy every 25 km. Another amazing video to run along on my trainer during lockdown. Keep it coming Jeff :)
Jeff! Flipping heck am I jealous and wanting to buy a plane ticket to Vancouver. Those trails and so close to the city too. They look beautiful. Great video, as always and amazing effort. What a great community you have there. Inspiring stuff.
Having completed the KneeKnacker, I don't know how you are able to concentrate on running at the same time as getting the shots you need to make a great film! Well done!
Really cool video Jeff. I miss the Pacific Northwest! Looks like a great day and I especially loved the commentary from Audre (hope I spelled her name right)!
A friend and I are doing the BP from West to East on June 27th. Looks like key beta will be fresh socks and shoes to put on at the dam after post-holing across Cypress!
Great stuff once again Jeff, awesome production and a strong run! I am so jealous of the nature you guys surround yourself with, looks almost magical! I've never been to Canada but I've always wanted to visit, have to visit Vancouver once this covid shit is over and run these amazing trails!
This has got me stoked. Doing half of this in mid July. Will be my first 50k! Can confirm that the snow is awful after hollyburn, ran a recon run last weekend and lots of post holing!
Excellent film and story well told! Question for you… I see your gear used list, but curious which camera you used at the start in the low light? We’re you using a gimbal as well? The low light quality was great!
Thanks Steven! That was shot on the GoPro Hero 9 using the GoPro Labs firmware, with the shutter locked at minimum 1/120 to help with stabilization. I’m on the fence about it though - It leads to pretty constant freezing and crashing which is so frustrating and such a time waster.
@@JeffPelletier Thank you so much for the quick answer! Well it looks quite a lot better than my GoPro hero 8 in low light. It really does look quite good. I also really like the angles you get from the Insta 360 x2!
Another fun video, Jeff. Good job on the run too. What do you think of the Go 2? I noticed some footage, but not a lot. I'm undecided on whether to add on to my arsenal! They don't look too robust for the types of races I would vlog.
Thanks Aaron! I’ve been using it a fair bit, but only when I need to be hands-free (Eg. Scrambling on rocks, using my poles, etc). The quality and lack of space leaves something to be desired.
Nice! 🤯🤯 I find after about 45 km of running I start getting pretty bad cramps in the legs. What sort of electrolyte do you find is best for these huge distances?
I was so hoping to see you running past my house on this adventure. Almost but not quite. I think i saw you go down capilano. We are in North Vancouver. I have been watching Courtney Duawalter and everything ultra as I am hoping to do the 50k port moody run with my dtr in 2025. We have never even done a 5k...haha😂 Go big or go home!! If we could do it in 8 hours, I'd be so so so happy Love your videos. I'm still trying to figure out how your camera and rod disappear. ❤
That is fricken amazing. You're prob running right now w your computer around your neck answering texts 😂. It must get tiring holding it!!Love following you and Audree!! @JeffPelletier
Dog friendly, yep. We sometimes run into black bears on the North Shore, but it’s not a problem if you’re in groups and/or making noise around blind corners - they run away.
@@JeffPelletier Irish couple living in Edmonton so a coyote is about as wild as it gets lol. Just for the dog is all! Love the channel man I only found it a few days ago! Me and my race partner were going to try qualify for UTMB short race a few years back! We did the Hardman Ultra Ironman under the impression it was points accessible! Turns out they weren’t lol kinda took the wind out of our sales, they were just looking for numbers! Did the multi day coast to coast and I can’t count how many other races, but life and injuries got in the way 🤷♂️. Economy crash brought us to Canada were we have friend that have been hear for years, decades for some! Anyway I can’t half ramble on 😂 Myself and the wife are going to get back in the saddle so to speak and see some of this amazing country.
Oh, the animated map. I use Google Earth Studio for the map itself which is a free tool. You can import a GPX track to create the route. But I then animate it and add then location names and pop ups in After Effects.
I've included a full list of both the running and camera gear I used in the description.

Thats exactly how I anticipate all my training. I was running up mountain and in the wood as a kid. Im stil loving it now !
kudos to your wife for taking the day to support your run!
Best crew ever! She did a great job filming as well.
The vibe in this film is just the best. The love, the friendship, the community, it all feels just wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing!

I love this community. Runners are just the best, I love this.
We’re lucky to be a part of it!
Another incredible film, Jeff. And I love me some Wing Taylor cameos.
THANK YOU for filming and posting these videos of things I can no longer do because of disability!
And I will never complain about trails being too technical again! That looks insane!

Another truely moving video. Thanks for all the creativity Jeff. You ROCK, more than that picture of the Rock rocking a rock!
The wipeout was awesome, perfect camera placement when it landed! Turned into a great shot. Great video all around!

Some really tasty shots there between the dam and Holyburn chute... That light was so perfect! Congrats on a great run!
