    This right here is the best humanity has to offer. Laz has created something that strips you off your ego and shows the real you without DMT. He nailed the set and the setting and invented a portal that only a few shall pass.. Great work capturing the video Gary.

    @Gary Robbins, you are such a bloody class act. The way that you went and crewed there, cheered for everyone, clearly soaking in their finishes, recorded this, edited the footage and then spent time with all the finishers so people you don't even know could also feel like we were there, when some people would just have sworn off Barkley for ever... thank you so so much for this !

    Thanks for sharing this, Gary. Love the unedited version, and how everyone supported each other. What a show of support from you, when others are saying "four finishers, amazing" and we can hear you say a couple of times "Hopefully five!" The enthusiasm in your voice when you are cheering Jasmin on near the end -- We are right there with you in the moment - it's obvious you were 100% willing her to make it to the finish.

    • @YouTubedarek
      @YouTubedarek 2 месяца назад +3

      I’m not sure about the whole history but I think last year someone was missing a page because a hiker picked up the book thinking the race was over. The runner this made it under the cut-off but only found out at the gate that the book was taken and his finish counted.

    • @GaryRobbins
      @GaryRobbins  2 месяца назад +5

      This has happened almost every single year. This year French runner Guillaume Calmettes lost a page on loop 2 (not his first time losing a page at the race), he turned around and went back out to attempt to find it. Thankfully another runner had picked it up, though it took hours for Guillaume to find them with it and get back to camp. He barely got in under the 2 lap cutoff, and then went on to claim a Fun Run finish with 7 mins to spare! Truly one of the great stories from this year's edition.
