Hi. Great video.Just bought this drone cant get out of beginner mode. In the videos ive watched you go into the settings switch off begginers mode and save settings. Mine doesn't display the save option. Any suggestions i would appreciate.
I have a stupid question... how do I turn off the Transmitter. Every time I go to use the drone the Transmitter has a dead battery. I obviously don't know how to shut it off. Please advise. Thanks Randy
Hi Captain Drone ! My F11 will not start. I don't have the phone and app yet but have been trying to fly it without GPS. All the lights flash, but the motors won't start. Can you think of something I'm missing?
Hi Captain, I purchased the F11 after your last review and I love it! Very easy to get used to it and it flies great. GPS and APP (iphone) are very reliable. Fantastic flight times. I put a small strobe on it to help with visualization while in flight, especially in low light conditions. The only recommendation I have is a stronger shipment box. The box came very beat up from the trek from China. Thanks again!!
@@dazspurs9899 You can buy the strobe from firehousetechnologies.com. They are small so I just used a small patch of heavy duty velcro on the rear end of the drone.
Heads up CD...JJRC X11 is in pre-order...it's the F11 with optical flow and a display for telemetry right on the controller...it also would appear to have extended control range (and FPV a bit too)...at the expense of about 5 minutes of flight time...makes sense with all the extra pull from the sensors etc. The camera however, is worse...2K but the FPS is lower and I bet they "fisheyed" the lens slightly as well....So a re-branded and slightly improved F11...if you look at the underside of the F11, it had what appeared to be placeholders for the OFS....

I just returned a parrot Bebop 2 (broken all over) and wanted a spark but not a little keen on paying that much and really considering this one or the JJRC X5 from another review. But still trying to figure out which one is the one for me. Looking for more time flying and camera does not have to be that great. (I can manage without 4k). What do you suggest? Hi Captain. Do any of the budget drone's come with a gimbal so i can shoot some smooth video? Most of these obviously don't so have jerky playback. A drone under 200 dollars with a gimbal would be great. Even if it just recorded in 1080 rather than 4K I'd be happy. Recommendations anyone? Thanks & excellent video reviews Captain. Gimbals are expensive because when the drone moves, the gimbal must keep the horizon level which is not easy to do. For $200, the only drone on the market with a 2 axis gimbal is the X9 Heron.
Yeah that sucks I had to buy a iPad to stop using my android phone because I couldn't get it to stop charging my phone! But with the iPad it has a select to charge you can turn on and off! Ugh dji and iOS are in bed for sure!!! No more dji for me the mavic zoom was my last one to buy! It's a nice quad and all but I'm not a fanboy and I will use others like my typhoon H wich has been awsome and many a flight on it and has not let me down for anything I need it to do

I am a complete novice with these drones,But I bought one and it flys really well.I feel confident that it's going out and coming back.I wouldn't dare fly it indoors.In my opinion if you were wanting to buy this to make video footage I would say hold your horses.When I review the video footage on my iPhone six it looks nice, same again on my iPad it looks nice.On my MacBook Pro not so good on my smart tv not so good.If you find out how to record video at its max resolution please let me know.For me to learn how to fly a drone and to use its functions I am very happy.If you are an experienced flyer and you want to shoot high quality footage in all honesty I would say buy something more expensive.As my learning drone I like it a lot to fly.I didn't realise how much fun could be had flying these things and this drone is a good solid flyer
Make sure your cell phone has 802.11ac wifi in it. Also make sure you connect to the wifi of the drone before you open the App on your phone. Finally make sure you are using the correct App.
I think I am going to pick one up. Just another drone for my wife to yell at me about. Kidding--she is really understanding and I am a very lucky man. It's nice and toasty here in Arizona. Do you ever get rain or only precip is snow (or freezing rain) where you're at? 😉Once in a blue moon, I see clear fields in your videos!
If there is no WIfi then it either means the MICRO SD card is not formatted correctly, or too large of a card in the drone, or it means your phone does not have 802.11ac Wifi ability.

I have flown syma drone before now I want to buy a better one .. I am confused between F11 pro and Dji spark ..which one is easy to handle for beginner? I have a simmiler place to fly so dont want to bang another house
I just bought the F11 and the micro SD card to record the flights. Do you know how or what I need to play back the video on the card? My computer says it may be a "codec" problem. Anyway, thanks for the drone recommendation, it's my first one and so far the experience has been great.

Just got a white one. I used tape of different colors and patterns to determine front from back. (Black in back, red reflecting tape on left front arm - "red right returning", blue stripes on right front arms) I can differentiate if I can see it.

Hi Captain, Great review, im a newbie to flying drones could you tell me when flying in a small area as you were in your back yard with space being very limited , is it any better for control of the drone to have GPS turned off . I've seen in a previous video you've done you say you like to fly sometimes turning GPS off so you get a better performance and if so do you still need to do compass calibration and giro calibration before you fly.
It is better to have the GPS off due to lack of GPS sats caused by the houses and trees blocking the signal. In this video I left the GPS on and it worked fine.

I’m having trouble getting photo and video to save on the SD card. It keeps saving to my phone in really low quality...and nothing on the SD card at all?? What am I missing??

Ok Captain. I just found your channel recently and I haven’t yet watched all your videos. I’m am looking for my first quality drone. The more videos I watch the more confused I am. So I will not hesitate to invest a few hard earned dollars in a drone even though I have very little experience flying them. I guess my real dilemma is if I pay $150 for one like this when I could have spent $250 to $300 and not desire to upgrade very soon. You probably won’t answer my question but which medium to higher quality drone do you suggest for a first time buyer. Thanks.
If you purchase a $200 or less drone and have never flown a drone, you will not have expectations and therefore will be happy. To jump up to the next level, you'd go the HUBSAN ZINO, and from there to the DJI SPARK and from there to the PARROT ANAFI and from there to the MAVIC AIR... and you are then getting close to $1000 for the next jump.
Hello, I am not an expert but owning an F11 for a half a year, and got modded the transmitter a bit also put some vinyl for good looking on the drone arms, it depends what you like, this one can be folded. the other one not.
Does the link below the video no long work? Unfortunately the links come from the distributors along with discounts which are usually good for 30 days after the video is published. This video is rather old so you may be best to see if you can find it on a Black Friday sale.
Unfortunately, most drones out of China that are under $500 are what we call "disposable drones". If there is no large big name company backing the drone, then there is no support. In order to have a big name company providing support it costs $$ to employ staff and have a warranty and repair system. This is why you can get good drones for under $300 from China, but you have to also realize that the support is very little.
That is the image quality I get from my drone. Some people get better image quality. I think it depends on the editing software... mine doesn't like it too much.
Sorry, the F11 is what is know as a BUDGET DRONE which means no warranty, no support, no parts, no service. If it no longer works, it is best to sell for parts.

Phone must be able to connect to WIFI at 802.11ac. If not, then no video signal or ability to use APP. If your phone has the correct configuration then you just power on the DRONE, then search for the DRONE Wifi signal on your phone. Once you find it, connect to it. Once connected, then open the APP.
@STeF F do you recommend the F11 more than the Tello? I am looking for a video drone or one I can put a camera on like the about 10 grams. What do you recommend for around $150 that is easily portable and good outdoor? I still don't know if I want the Tello since the distance isn't that great. Maybe the force1 f100 but I think it is too big. I could also wait a few months and hope for something better for around $150.
@@oliviergoggins it's personal I think, the Tello has nice video stability and nice pictures, the distance of the Tello can be further using a wifi extender like xiaomi wifi extender 2,so the Tello is nice for vacation, the F11 is also nice for the price it costs, it's brushless, but I flown the Tello like 50 lipos and motors are OK, so brushless, double GPS, but the cam is 120 degrees fov, it's panoramic, you will see everything, but not so nice for video on a vacation due the F11 has no video stability, there for the F11 is a very nice cruiser over fields etc for me and enjoying the flight There both very good for there price, watch youtubers review drones, maybe you'll see another drone, that's how I explore new drones, and these days for under 200 euros or dollars there are some nice GPS flyers
Darnit, I got sucked right in! Ordered from TomTop, and since they're having a flash sale right at the moment, got it for $175 from TomTop instead of the $229 that I saw on Amazon.co.uk. Now my Hubsan H501S will probably get jealous, as it was previously my only drone.
Surprisingly, the drone arrived today (in the UK). I was expecting the shipping time to be longer. Anyway, I haven't flown it yet, as the battery is still charging, but it definitely feels nice in the hand.
Make sure you stop the video before shutting off the F11. If you turn it off while it's recording it will corrupt the video file. If this is problem you can Google "recover corrupted video" here is some recovering site www.slydiman.me/eng/mmedia/recover_mp4.htm
I bought one of these as a back up drone after Captains earlier review.I got it in black with a spare battery and soft bag to carry everything in.All in it was less than £150 delivered and is in the air in less than 2 minutes.The farthest I have got before losing camera is 758 metres then it froze but thats ok for this price
Yes in the box with 1 battery and accessories. That was a couple of months ago. They are getting quite popular so maybe the price is going up to. I have a mavic air and it's in a different class. But for the price it's worth it. The battery takes ages to charge is the downside
I’ve seem folks binding Bugs 3 and cryptically showing a Visuo XS812 bound to it but no one has really demonstrated how....anyway it’s a transmitter, that I guess if bound, could provide better and more precise control range....they are used mainly for small fpv racing quads etc...however crossing over and being able to fly these cheaper gps camera drones like the F11 would be great....one TX to fly them all....
I have problems with recording and photos videos on SD card with this drone.. sometimes not always recorded videos cannot be opened either on pc or phone. It says unknown format even it says it is MP4 or jpg. Any fix for it.. also should I record with app or controller. Could this be the problem?
You can record with either (App or Controller). What type of computer are you using? If it is a MAC, then that is the problem because of how the card and files are formatted.
I record via app sometimes and also via controller, can this be the problem if I use both controller and app in the same fligth . for example my yestreday recording is 345 mb in size in mp4 format, but it is unable to open it,. It is not MAC, acctually it is Win 10, Overall it is a great drone but this recording is frustrating,.. cuz when I lose fpv signal i dont know if my recording will be able to open,.
The drone wants to talk to WIFI in the 802.11ac wifi spectrum. Your phone needs to be able to talk in the same spektrum. Manually search for the WIFI and then select it on your phone.... if your phone says it can't connect, no mattery how many times you try, then it means your phone is old tech and not compatible.

Based on one of your previous video (Where you presented top 10 drones for beginners), I bought the F11, one week ago, and tried it for the first time this morning. I wouldn't say it's fantastic (I've to stay reasonnable), but for the price (less than 150 Euros), this drone is really impressive : Stable, Quality, Speed, Autonomy, software features... I definitly recommand. Thanks so much...... I tested several drones before, but as I have a lot of different hoppies, I don't have too much time to fly.... My original thought was to buy a Mavic or an Anafi, but regarding the time spent to fly, a cheaper drone was a reasonnable choice.... I've just got 2 questions : - I'm using android, and in the app I cannot see the map. I know this is a reccurent bug. Did you have a chance to plan a fly with the map planner ? if no, do you know if JJRC will update the software? - Last questsion, I noticed this morning (A little windy), that when doing a roll at high speed, and when you try to relax the joytsicks, the drone looses 5-6 seconds before to stabilize at its position. During this 5-6 seconds, it has delay to stop the roll. Did you notice it ? May be, I didn't spend enough time for calibration... In any case, thanks so much for your video. I'll play with this drone for few weeks, and wait for future recommandation to buy a new more advanced / cheap drone.
The ANDROID App on most of these drones does not play well with Google Maps, so you see nothing. If you fly this in the wind, and move it around, it will drop a bit as it tries to remain stable.
Those two drones are not in the same category. One is an indoor non-GPS drone with basic features and the other is an out door GPS drone with higher level features.
CAPTAIN DRONE ohh i see now i know about those features, but theres one more thing make me interest with. Now this with both having almost the same features which one to buy F11 or JJPro X5, im looking into camera and video quality plus flight time. Thanks a lot
Yes, but where would you put a GoPro 7 on this drone????? Also, when you add weight to a drone, the flight characteristics go kinda crazy (i.e. you turn right & it goes much farther right than you expected, etc).
If it had a 3axis gimbal it would be great. Yes DJI spoiled fanboy. I do want either the Air or maybe the Aurelio EVO. Then I could give my Spark to my wife. She flies it now anyway. Good video Steve.
I do not know how to turn back on the camera live streaming.. when I turned it on for the very first time it worked great but now I can't get it to work at all and I don't think it's linked up to the app.. any help would be appreciated

I have not heard of any issues, other than the ones I mentioned in my full review video. All I keep hearing from viewers is that they really like this drone for the price.
Someone was telling me that this drone only works with 5G phones, which makes no sense at all, since 5G isn't yet very widespread. I hear that there are no 5G networks set up in the UK, for example, so how can they sell it here if it won't work with 4G? CAPTAIN DRONE, were you testing it with 4G or 5G?
5G is a type of WiFi. If you want to know if your phone can work with 5GHZ Wifi, just type into Google the name of your phone followed by 802.11ac. The 802.11ac is the Wifi protocol, It takes too long to say 802.11ac, so companies reduce it to 5G which is short for the 5ghz bandwidth. When you talk about cell phones and 4G or the soon to be introduced 5G, you are talking about your phone connecting to a cell tower. A drone is not a cell tower.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 - Yes, I'm aware that a drone is not a cell tower, lol! I did check Samsung's spec sheet for my phone and it says "802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4+5GHz, HT40". Don't see a "c" in there, but I was just out back flying the drone and it seemed to communicate OK. Another interesting thing is the drone manual says "Supported SD cards: TF 8GB". "TF" is TransFlash and is a SanDisk term which pretty much means "microSD", but is there really a max 8GB on the size in this drone? Weird, if true. I'll be popping a 32GB SD card in there today or tomorrow and seeing if it works. Report tomorrow!

Hold the power button down. If that does not work, push the power button once, then push again but hold for several seconds.

The F11 won't start without a compass calibration and satellites.

For budget drones it really does not matter so you can turn the drone on first or the controller on first.

My sgrc f11 has no wifi, how to fix this problem pls. Help me captain drone

I have flown syma drone before now I want to buy a better one .. I am confused between F11 pro and Dji spark ..which one is easy to handle for beginner? I have a simmiler place to fly so dont want to bang another house
I just bought the F11 and the micro SD card to record the flights. Do you know how or what I need to play back the video on the card? My computer says it may be a "codec" problem. Anyway, thanks for the drone recommendation, it's my first one and so far the experience has been great.

Might be a silly question, but as a non-drone owner, how do you tell the front from the back when flying???
The lights are different colors & also you get used to it after awhile.
Just got a white one. I used tape of different colors and patterns to determine front from back. (Black in back, red reflecting tape on left front arm - "red right returning", blue stripes on right front arms) I can differentiate if I can see it.

These drones use the cheap googles where you put your phone in. Check AMAZON, you can find them for $20.
Hi Captain, Great review, im a newbie to flying drones could you tell me when flying in a small area as you were in your back yard with space being very limited , is it any better for control of the drone to have GPS turned off . I've seen in a previous video you've done you say you like to fly sometimes turning GPS off so you get a better performance and if so do you still need to do compass calibration and giro calibration before you fly.
It is better to have the GPS off due to lack of GPS sats caused by the houses and trees blocking the signal. In this video I left the GPS on and it worked fine.

Probably wrong type of micro SD Card. Use a 16 gig Class 10 card formatted in Windows

Ok Captain. I just found your channel recently and I haven’t yet watched all your videos. I’m am looking for my first quality drone. The more videos I watch the more confused I am. So I will not hesitate to invest a few hard earned dollars in a drone even though I have very little experience flying them. I guess my real dilemma is if I pay $150 for one like this when I could have spent $250 to $300 and not desire to upgrade very soon. You probably won’t answer my question but which medium to higher quality drone do you suggest for a first time buyer. Thanks.
If you purchase a $200 or less drone and have never flown a drone, you will not have expectations and therefore will be happy. To jump up to the next level, you'd go the HUBSAN ZINO, and from there to the DJI SPARK and from there to the PARROT ANAFI and from there to the MAVIC AIR... and you are then getting close to $1000 for the next jump.

Hello, I am not an expert but owning an F11 for a half a year, and got modded the transmitter a bit also put some vinyl for good looking on the drone arms, it depends what you like, this one can be folded. the other one not.
The B5w will have the shakes on video in slightest wind. Great pics tho. But this drone has frame skipping. Neither has gimbal so will be wobbly too

Lots of drones do. You want a drone with an Optical Flow Sensor.

How do you get help with this company? My sjrc z5 gimbal is not working and I can't figure out how to contact support.
Unfortunately, most drones out of China that are under $500 are what we call "disposable drones". If there is no large big name company backing the drone, then there is no support. In order to have a big name company providing support it costs $$ to employ staff and have a warranty and repair system. This is why you can get good drones for under $300 from China, but you have to also realize that the support is very little.

That is the image quality I get from my drone. Some people get better image quality. I think it depends on the editing software... mine doesn't like it too much.

Sorry, the F11 is what is know as a BUDGET DRONE which means no warranty, no support, no parts, no service. If it no longer works, it is best to sell for parts.
My phone has a 802.11 ac wifi but still the same problem the wifi is hard to detect!!!?
It should be a quick connection with no issues. Perhaps something is not correct with your phone's WiFi.

Phone must be able to connect to WIFI at 802.11ac. If not, then no video signal or ability to use APP. If your phone has the correct configuration then you just power on the DRONE, then search for the DRONE Wifi signal on your phone. Once you find it, connect to it. Once connected, then open the APP.

What do you recommend for around $150 that is easily portable and good outdoor? I still don't know if I want the Tello since the distance isn't that great. @@oliviergoggins it's personal I think, the Tello has nice video stability and nice pictures, the distance of the Tello can be further using a wifi extender like xiaomi wifi extender 2,so the Tello is nice for vacation, the F11 is also nice for the price it costs, it's brushless, but I flown the Tello like 50 lipos and motors are OK, so brushless, double GPS, but the cam is 120 degrees fov, it's panoramic, you will see everything, but not so nice for video on a vacation due the F11 has no video stability, there for the F11 is a very nice cruiser over fields etc for me and enjoying the flight
There both very good for there price, watch youtubers review drones, maybe you'll see another drone, that's how I explore new drones, and these days for under 200 euros or dollars there are some nice GPS flyers

Darnit, I got sucked right in! Ordered from TomTop, and since they're having a flash sale right at the moment, got it for $175 from TomTop instead of the $229 that I saw on Amazon.co.uk. Now my Hubsan H501S will probably get jealous, as it was previously my only drone.
Surprisingly, the drone arrived today (in the UK). I was expecting the shipping time to be longer. Anyway, I haven't flown it yet, as the battery is still charging, but it definitely feels nice in the hand.
Captain, Do you know what a SJ RC F11 PRO is? Or what is the difference ?
I have not tried one. From the specs the range is double (800 meters) and the camera is almost 2K vice 1080p. Still no gimbal though.
You think it worth getting or stay with original F11 ?

Make sure you stop the video before shutting off the F11. If you turn it off while it's recording it will corrupt the video file.

I bought one of these as a back up drone after Captains earlier review.I got it in black with a spare battery and soft bag to carry everything in.All in it was less than £150 delivered and is in the air in less than 2 minutes.The farthest I have got before losing camera is 758 metres then it froze but thats ok for this price

Yes in the box with 1 battery and accessories. That was a couple of months ago. They are getting quite popular so maybe the price is going up to. I have a mavic air and it's in a different class. But for the price it's worth it. The battery takes ages to charge is the downside

I’ve seem folks binding Bugs 3 and cryptically showing a Visuo XS812 bound to it but no one has really demonstrated how....anyway it’s a transmitter, that I guess if bound, could provide better and more precise control range....they are used mainly for small fpv racing quads etc...however crossing over and being able to fly these cheaper gps camera drones like the F11 would be great....one TX to fly them all....
Rick, that is an FPV controller which can bind to any FPV drone. F11 is in a different class.
I have problems with recording and photos videos on SD card with this drone.. sometimes not always recorded videos cannot be opened either on pc or phone. It says unknown format even it says it is MP4 or jpg. Any fix for it.. also should I record with app or controller. Could this be the problem?
You can record with either (App or Controller). What type of computer are you using? If it is a MAC, then that is the problem because of how the card and files are formatted.
I record via app sometimes and also via controller, can this be the problem if I use both controller and app in the same fligth . for example my yestreday recording is 345 mb in size in mp4 format, but it is unable to open it,. It is not MAC, acctually it is Win 10, Overall it is a great drone but this recording is frustrating,.. cuz when I lose fpv signal i dont know if my recording will be able to open,.
@@rossonermilan If you don't stop the record before you power off the drone, the file will become corrupt.

Cannot connect to WIFI on my smart phone?? why?
The drone wants to talk to WIFI in the 802.11ac wifi spectrum. Your phone needs to be able to talk in the same spektrum. Manually search for the WIFI and then select it on your phone.... if your phone says it can't connect, no mattery how many times you try, then it means your phone is old tech and not compatible.

Based on one of your previous video (Where you presented top 10 drones for beginners), I bought the F11, one week ago, and tried it for the first time this morning.
I wouldn't say it's fantastic (I've to stay reasonnable), but for the price (less than 150 Euros), this drone is really impressive : Stable, Quality, Speed, Autonomy, software features... I definitly recommand. Thanks so much......
I tested several drones before, but as I have a lot of different hoppies, I don't have too much time to fly.... My original thought was to buy a Mavic or an Anafi, but regarding the time spent to fly, a cheaper drone was a reasonnable choice....
I've just got 2 questions :
- I'm using android, and in the app I cannot see the map. I know this is a reccurent bug. Did you have a chance to plan a fly with the map planner ? if no, do you know if JJRC will update the software?
- Last questsion, I noticed this morning (A little windy), that when doing a roll at high speed, and when you try to relax the joytsicks, the drone looses 5-6 seconds before to stabilize at its position. During this 5-6 seconds, it has delay to stop the roll. Did you notice it ? May be, I didn't spend enough time for calibration...
In any case, thanks so much for your video. I'll play with this drone for few weeks, and wait for future recommandation to buy a new more advanced / cheap drone.
The ANDROID App on most of these drones does not play well with Google Maps, so you see nothing. If you fly this in the wind, and move it around, it will drop a bit as it tries to remain stable.
Get a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and put it in beginner mode and you have a solid flying machine.
Do they have 2 camera versions of this f11, cause if thats meant to be1080p that looks shocking..more so like only 720p🤔
It records 1080 to the sd card on the drone, the app records at 720 hope.that helps?

Those two drones are not in the same category. One is an indoor non-GPS drone with basic features and the other is an out door GPS drone with higher level features.

I would buy whichever one is the lowest cost. Also check the price of batteries because you will need at least two batteries.

Yes, but where would you put a GoPro 7 on this drone????? Also, when you add weight to a drone, the flight characteristics go kinda crazy (i.e. you turn right & it goes much farther right than you expected, etc).

I do not know how to turn back on the camera live streaming.. when I turned it on for the very first time it worked great but now I can't get it to work at all and I don't think it's linked up to the app.. any help would be appreciated

Someone was telling me that this drone only works with 5G phones, which makes no sense at all, since 5G isn't yet very widespread. I hear that there are no 5G networks set up in the UK, for example, so how can they sell it here if it won't work with 4G? CAPTAIN DRONE, were you testing it with 4G or 5G?
5G is a type of WiFi. If you want to know if your phone can work with 5GHZ Wifi, just type into Google the name of your phone followed by 802.11ac. The 802.11ac is the Wifi protocol, It takes too long to say 802.11ac, so companies reduce it to 5G which is short for the 5ghz bandwidth. When you talk about cell phones and 4G or the soon to be introduced 5G, you are talking about your phone connecting to a cell tower. A drone is not a cell tower.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 - Yes, I'm aware that a drone is not a cell tower, lol! I did check Samsung's spec sheet for my phone and it says "802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4+5GHz, HT40". Don't see a "c" in there, but I was just out back flying the drone and it seemed to communicate OK. Another interesting thing is the drone manual says "Supported SD cards: TF 8GB". "TF" is TransFlash and is a SanDisk term which pretty much means "microSD", but is there really a max 8GB on the size in this drone? Weird, if true. I'll be popping a 32GB SD card in there today or tomorrow and seeing if it works. Report tomorrow!
