The beauty is the LCD screen is tilted so I don't have to lean forward to look at it as I used to do with Genos. Luckily, I sold my Genos in a heartbeat, put the cash back into my account, and will buy this cheaper arranger. I just realized Genos was insanely an expensive arranger with limited capabilities and I totally did regret my purchase. Now, I am happy I sold it, phewwwwwww !!

Pa-1000, nice arranger.. my kronos will stay at home/studio now.. and the pa-1000 will be my gigging board.. if my drummer or bass player is tired, the pa-1000 will do the job. 👍
I don't blame you one bit, those keys on the Kronos are way too heavy to comfortably play, the pa1000 is a much better choice, much easier keyboard to navigate, it can do just as much as the kronus can do anyway

I like it mostly for it`s so powerful speakers: i boat a DGX 650 a couple of years ago and it´s speakers are a shame of only 9W . I am impressed with this one, maybe i will buy one

I have a PA800. I really like my keyboard, when it was new, it was about the best thing out there, save the piano sound, which Yamaha did better back then. Now, the PA4X Pro has a much better sound for the piano, actually, across the board. But, I can't afford the PA4X right now, because I would also need to purchase the PaAS system to go with it.
No, what I would like is the PA1000 in a 76 key version and the sliders for the drawbars. Might also be nice if Korg came out with a 'Drawbar Controller' for all the PA keyboards that have the Digital Drawbars. A stand alone unit that gives you control over the Drawbar sounds, Leslie emulation, attacks, percussion, etc.
If Korg were to come out with a PA1000 in the 76 key version, built in speakers and sliders for the drawbar, and could do it for a couple of hundred dollars more than what this PA1000 is going for, it would be my ideal keyboard, at least until I can afford the PA4X Pro, or whatever keyboard is the follow on . . . PA5X Pro?
Also, no support the EC-5 controller?
Maybe have a look at the Crumar.it site. They have a DIY project for a drawbar controller for their new lower manual keyboard for the mojo61. (The mojo61 is a single keyborad instrument but supports full 2 manual organ + basspedal but only sports 1 set of 9 drawbars for controlling all 3 channels) They listened to their users and it ended up being a DIY project based on an arduino board

Please advise if this keyboard has the Quarter Tone features for playing Oriental and Arabic Music. Will it accept the Arabic Styles that are available in Korg-Pa 700 Oriental or not. Many thanks for the outstanding review and assessment of this unit.

I believe the different between pa4x and pa1000 the power of sound card and the keys quality too and the body of the keyboard.

Matt Alex Let me tell you that YAMAHA is the best for occidental music. but speaking about sampling and stuff KORG is the beast of the stages in oriental music.

Dear Tony, please advise if KORG is planning to launch KORG Pa-1000 Oriental like the Pa-700 Oriental.
In other words, will the KORG Pa1000 be able to have Oriental instruments like Kanoon, Aoud, Arabic Strings, Nay and Oriental styles, that could be built in or not. Also, how do you create the quarter tone scale, in the KORG Pa-1000 is it through the screen or how ?

Depends from you needs, but I personally think PA3X is better
Giorgos Boultadakis id go with he pa-1000 coz it has newer sounds and sample. The pa-3x has better quality built but, the pa-1000 has better sounds samples. They are both great.

I own one of these for several years now, but still do not like the grand piano sound. When run through my Bose L1 the piano is just horrible. Any recommendations for a keyboard amp for live performing that will sound better?
I would recommend you to browse through Korg forums . There are some amazing third party piano samples for Korg pa series . One such is salamander samples tuned to fit into Korg pa series. It’s done by Reuben . Try those samples .. I’m sure you would enjoy them 👍

What is the difference between Korg pa4x and pa1000?
The PA4x is Korg's Flagship Professional Arranger. It has more styles and voices than the PA1000. It also has the durable metal chassis, is available in 76 notes, uses a separate PAas Speaker Bar, and a superior keyboard action. The PA1000 is its "little brother". Offering many of the features of the PA4x but with a built in speaker system and is only available in the 61 note version so it is more compact and much lighter.

Well this is great but comparing with S970 I feel that those Yamaha styles are much detailed, universal and interesting as well. The same comment for tones/voices also, specially the Nylon guitar and Saxophone, which is freaking sophisticated in S970. (Anyway, are you introducing the two USB ports correctly? You are introducing them corresponding to the Yamaha, etc. back panel. The meanings should be changed as Pa1000 use the two USB types for the opposite purpose.)

Thanks for clarifying. One more question regarding the PAAS sound bar please - The Pa4x has 3 types of audio input (microphone XLR, 3.5mm stereo and L+R standard jack inputs) - can you clarify whether the input from these is played back through the PaAS to enable full monitoring of all sound sources? I have read that the non-microphone inputs although fed to the Pa4x audio outputs are not played back through the PaAS. I use an iPad for some tracks so being able to play through these the PaAS would be important for stage monitoring and home use.
Hi Michael, I haven't had the opportunity to try this myself yet, but I would think that any sound sources plugged into the audio inputs would be routed through the internal speaker system. This may be different to he PA4x because the speaker system is treated as an external amplifier on that keyboard.
How to save sequence temple song in Korg krome 73 key board
Recently, we bought a Korg pa 1000 for church.I am the pianist there. My weakness is that I can't find the natural clear piano sound ( not electronic sound ) which used for playing Choir and Hymns. Anyone can help me which button ( option ) I should use. For Example on HAMAHA keyboard, if you press the " Touch " button, you get the electronic sound and after releasing the touch button, you will get the natural sound and it will be louder, and it is very nice to play the choir or Hymns.
I have one of these, too. In my opinion, the concert grand piano is the best, but all of the acoustic piano sounds in this keyboard are lacking compared to other manufacturers. I've emailed Korg about this but got no reply. I tried re-balancing the tone of the concert grand, but it still sounds very poor.

It’s the same as PA4X...... but double cheaper “$2000 vs $4000!” And them speakers are freaken sickkk, can’t go wron with it, thinking of getting that and a $2000 MicPreamp and sound way better than Pa4X, except if you really need then 76 keys instead of 61 keys but paying “Double as much.”

Is the inbuilt speaker system louder than the Pa4x sound bar. Comparing the specs it's not clear.
Hi Michael, The PaAs Soundbar (2x20 Watt (Middle/High Frequency) + 1x40 Watt (Subwoofer)) for the PA4x is more powerful than the speakers in the PA1000 (2 x 33 W). The 40W subwoofer allows for a better quality sound in all frequencies at higher volumes. This coupled with the Soundbar facing you more directly means that it is louder than the PA1000. The keys shown are "synth action" coz they are synth design; the semi-weighted action sport full piano key design, these "piano key" you will find: "semi weighted" key action or "full weigthed" action which must be hammer action indeed, IF you see keyboard style key.. then they sure are "synth action" keys. It's the same price as a PSR S970, and yes, Yamaha not only has hundreds of styles built in, and you can download virtually anything from the Tyros 4 onto it and everything will work perfectly. It's fairly easy to modify sounds, styles, registrations and a thousand other peramiters. Both of these look to be very good, but actually look at both of them for yourself and get your hands on them before buying either.

Which is better, PA 700, 900 or 1000 ?
The Korg PA600 and PA900 are discontinued models based on the previous PA3x flagship arranger. These have now been replaced by the PA700 and PA1000 which is based on the current PA4x Flagship Model. Of the models that you have mentioned, the PA1000 is of the highest specification, having the most styles and voices based on the current PA4x. Come to our Eastbourne showroom and try the models out side by side.
