I love it when the Hyde character looks...handsome. In some other versions he looks revolting! He seems more evil when he is attractive, because it seems sleazier. I love this version!
This is the best performance I have seen of this song so far! It shows that there is more of an inner struggle in Lucy, rather than the "eeww...get your hands off me" approach. Also it shows that HYDE LOVES LUCY!!! I mean, this is a man that would take anything he wanted, and everyone is lesser than him. If he just wanted Lucy for sex than he would of discarded her long ago, but he didn't. That is because he actually wants her! Whether he knows that or not, I have no idea, but it seems that his feelings are genuine. So great job!!!!!
You guys really did a great job. Your Hyde is terrifying yet seductive, which makes the confliction in Lucy plausable. Really well done! This is the only version online that I've seen so far where Hyde is a baddie, yet there is sexual tension so you understand Lucy instead of writing her off as a stupid girl
Another similar version where Lucy doesn’t totally hope to run away from Hyde is a 2011 UK tour production (starring Marti Pellow as Hyde and Sabrina Carter as Lucy). Lucy is supposed to feel both terrified and attracted to Hyde (most Broadway versions sadly failed to do so)
This is a really interesting interpretation of the song! Most productions tend to emphasize the violent aspects of this relationship with this song, but this goes for a more romantic approach, with Lucy actually pursuing Hyde. It's different, not better or worse necessarily, but different, and I like that. I'd love to see the rest of this production to get the full context and Lucy's character. Also a lovely performance, vocally and acting-wise, from both of you!
Major kudos to both the performers and the creative team here. This song is incredibly difficult to stage without it either being static or frantic. Perfect balance of stillness and movement in this one. Found it odd that it was Lucy who did the little chase thing, though.
I've always thought this was a sexy song. And the show is the first incarnation of J&H where Hyde isn't seen a revolting monster but a very seductive and evil force which, I imagine, he would be. The Devil will always be charming and inviting.
I actually think that Jekyll and Hyde is not really just a tale of good vs evil as it seems on the surface. I think it's really self-control for others' sake vs pure animal impulse. The book only offers Dr. Jekyll's perspective, so of course to him Hyde would look like a monster. But when Hyde kills those people, he shouts "hypocrites!" --the same thing Jekyll had said of them before the transformation at the jury. You see, Jekyll values integrity in itself more than good deeds, for the minds' sake. The formula he made was to make people's actions match up with how they truly think. What resulted was Hyde, a man who follows his violent tendencies and sexual desires without care for anyone else.
+Laura Zaetz i thought the formula was to seperate ones 'bad' side from their 'good' side (so there would be less 'bad' pepole) but some thing went wrong
+Laura Zaetz that is what it's about, actually. it's about repression, internal conflict, society vs nature. in the original book, Jekyll created the formula in order to have an escape from the strict rules of victorian society. it was only when Hyde began growing out of Jekyll's control that he began regretting what'd he'd done, and dissasociating from Hyde's actions.
+Brent Ramirez your voice is absolutely incredible. Not only was your voice amazing, but the way that you acted through it gave me CHILLS. I couldn't say the same thing for Lucy. Don't get me wrong, she acted well, but you definitely stole the show. If only you had performed this on Broadway instead of David Hasselhoff :'(
this version is way better than the version for broadway acting wise. If you have seen it with David Hasslhoff he was atrosious. The guy in this producions voice also reminds me of the guy from the original touring cast pre-broadway two thumbs and a foot up for this very passionate version!
@@McGirlie1 I agree I watched the David Hasslhoff version first before the others and he did a great job as Hyde but I did not like or take his Jekyll everyone else that played as Dr. Henry Jekyll and Mr.Hyde before him did a better job playing as Jekyll and Hyde and I also agree that Rob Evans did an awesome job as Dr. Henry Jekyll and Mr. Edward Hyde because I felt the pain and and nervousness of his Jekyll and his version of Hyde terrified me but in a good way.
+KingNazaru I loved Anthony's! BUT!!! You have to say, that he didn't perform live, did he? And I think Brent Ramirez did the best performance live! It's something different to record something or really perform on stage. ESPECIALLY! Jekyll and Hyde.
But the best performance for Jekyll and Hyde I have seen! Omg. You just saved my day. I thought I'd never see Jekyll and Hyde live. But now there's an opportunity! I'll have to take the plane to see it, but seriously? Totally worth it!!!!

Megan Jacobs I think he's supposed to look revolting.
I love both versions but I definitely agree that he is more deceptive and almost scarier because he looks like less of a threat

Manga Alyse yeah but then he kills her 🤷🏻♀️
@@publius8945 out of extreme jealousy. She was going to leave him and he didn't want to share her with jekyll either. He's crazy. So he killed her.
Here it shows how Hyde is obsessed with Lucy , brilliant performance
YES TOTALLY AGREED

This song makes me hella uncomfortable so naturally I listen to it a lot
That's why I prefer the 1994 version

Great chemistry. I adore the way you've both acted this out. Great voices too!
I love the body language you two give off. This is one of my favorites

Remarkable chemistry. Kristi is simply amazing! Bravo!

Favorite version of this song - right here!!! Amazing job!

You. Are Spectacular!!!!!
Wow, this is amazingly perfect! I love this version, finally a decent looking Hyde ;) Your acting is breathtaking, you're pros ^^
Шикарно!❤
I'm sure you get this a lot but you so remind me of Anthony Warlow. I love your Hyde voice. I hope to see you on the great white way one day.

Free Dimes Thank you so much! :)
+Free Dimes ikr! David was not good. Rob Evans on broadway was brilliant at the role though.

Best song
This is phenomenal! I can't express in words how much I love it!
Brent Ramirez.... you are now the second best actor to play Hyde other than Rob Evans. Good job.
The money I’d spend to get to get to duet this with you... you are a brilliant performer!
Let's do it!
Honestly I really wish I was her
Well, well, well, the chemistry is definitely here. No doubt. Bc I’m embarrassed rn. I feel like a voyeur
h oly shit
Nice job! And might I say you do look pretty cute as Hyde ^_^ But nice body language that you two had
Brent you are spectacular! I will see your name in lights some day, I know it! I can't stop watching your videos lol
I like the Anthony Warlow version better.
KingNazaru He's fantastic! Thanks for the comparison! :)
Brent Ramirez Don't get me wrong you weren't bad . The worst was Sebastian Bach (Shivers)
+KingNazaru I loved Anthony's! BUT!!! You have to say, that he didn't perform live, did he?
And I think Brent Ramirez did the best performance live!
It's something different to record something or really perform on stage.
ESPECIALLY! Jekyll and Hyde.
Brent isn't the best to perform on stage. Besides Anthony Warlow will perform for the 25th anniversary.
But the best performance for Jekyll and Hyde I have seen!
