      We usually go over more advanced TV repairs all the way down to the component level, but also show how to confirm what board is bad if you are looking to just board swap as well.

    Hey, I saw your video and I have the same kind of issue. I replaced the diode D603 (3:05) on my board just like you did because it was also shorted : no longer shorted. I also tried to remove each crackling that I saw on the transistors (3:15), just like you did (didn't replace them), but the short is still present on each of the 8 components on the right of your board (huge square transistors). What can I do ? replace the transistor at 3:15 ? And where can I find it (them) if so ?

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  Год назад

      You will need to replace them if they are shorted. These boards can fail in several different ways, you may have more damage on your board than we did on ours or vice versa.
      Most of those components are discontinued, but you can find them from chinese sellers on eBay or alibaba or aliexpress.
      We also do have a mail-in repair service available linked in the description, we provide a 1 Year warranty on the service as well. Typically our repair takes 3-5 business days.

    I am happy with the troubleshooting and repair method in this video. I received a similar board for lg 60pn6500 with legs of the shorted undersiide mosfets and two diodes desoldered. Q509(EY504) at far left of longer heat sink missing.
    Please help me identify the number of the missing transistor. I will greatly appreciate

      If it's in parallel with another, you can get that information from the one next to it.

    Hello,
    I hope you read my comment. Im from Germany and my Vathers TV has the same Issue I figurt out my self what is brocken and I replaced the IGBTs and the Mosfet as well as the Diode an the Resistor R251. I have a Kind of Picture on the TV but with masive flikering. I tryed to Setup the Potis but I Was not able to get an Good Picture. Do you have an Idea?

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  Год назад

      When that happens, sometimes its because of cracked solder joints on other parts of the board, or maybe one or more additional transistors have failed but not compltely shorted instead they have failed half way. It's also possible you still have a bad component such as a shorted diode, or open resistor somewhere.
      I have seen on occasion cracked solder joints on the white connectors that connect the Y-sustain to the buffers, so check those as well.
      Good luck

    Great Video and nice work 🎉
    What are you doing if you don’t have a donor board for components? I am looking for a diode actually from a LG 42PW451 with a 83 10 or 80 10 code. 🎉🎉🎉
    I can’t find a schematic or a value for the diode. Number on the board is D23 and D24

      @NicksTVRepair  9 месяцев назад +1

      That's a tough question. I usually have donor boards. But if I don't I spend a very long time on the internet trying to figure out what it is. Sometimes most of the time spent to repair a board is identifying the part and finding an equivalent replacement.

      @@NicksTVRepair That was the answer I wanted.
      I like to repair circuit boards in my free time and always try to improve my skills, but sometimes I come across components that are difficult to read or not labeled at all.
      Nice to hear that the pros are struggling a bit too

    Pls can you tell me what are the components marked FL(followed by numbers) on LG plasma tv.They look like diodes.

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  Год назад +1

      I am not sure which components you are reffering to, but typically the first letter of the location ID is an indicator of what the component is. If it starts with the letter D then it's a diode, letter C is a capacitor, Q is transistor, T transformer, L is inductor, and F is for fuse. So if a component is marked with F I would assume it's a fuse of some sort.
      Can you provide pictures of the components in question?
      Or are you saying that the component itself has the marking FL followed by numbers?
      If the latter is the case then my answer might sound harsh but it's google it. That's what I have to do on a daily basis. When I have to look up the specs on a component, I type in the markings on it into google and look at datasheets.

    • @rossmoodley9407
      @rossmoodley9407 Год назад

      @@NicksTVRepairthe components itself are not marked but denoted on pcb as FL706 and testing continous both ends.They look like diodes without the white band so they must be fuses.Hoping you had come accross these components on y sus LG plasma.Thanks for your feedback and sharing your knowledge

      Unfortunately that is not going to be enough information for me to be able to help. This could be a fault caused by every board in your TV. You would need to start with the color pattern test as your first step. This is what we did when testing this board at the end. For more info on how to do that, you can check this video out:

      You most likely just have really bad cracked solder joints then. I would recommend checking all your joints and reflowing the ones that look suspicious.

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  Год назад +1

      It could be simply an issue with the sustain boards being on their way out.
      I would suggest you plug in a smart device, go to youtube and bring up a full white screen video.
      Then take pictures and email those over to support@nickstvs.com so that myself or one of my guys can take a look at it more closely and let you know.

      It's very important for you to give me at the very least the model number of the TV, and the symptoms you are experiencing.
