I was with you about this sleep powder until you said melatonin :( I really do believe that the reason my hormones are currently messed up is because I took melatonin for years... Maybe check out how melatonin can mess with our female hormones :( It really sucks because it really did help me sleep for such a long time, but the consequences we're not worth it, I promise I'm not commenting this to be a hater, I just worry about your hormones specifically

If I can give the younger women a peace of advice: take classical ballet classes! It has made a lasting difference in my life in so many ways! you learn good posture, good spatial awareness, you get good muscle tone over time, and so many other health benefits. And the other secret is that I used to look old and tired because of a broken heart.... I lived through so much trauma....This advice may not please everyone, but when I let Jesus into my life, gave my life to Him, He started to heal me step by step. I learned to forgive people, I learned to share my heart with God. Now I have a shine and sparkle in my eyes, people estimate my age at least ten years younger, and I am 61! Love you, be blessed!

Here's the thing, about Rue vs. Jen or Angela Lansbury vs. Demi Moore- maybe the more modern ladies DO look a lot younger for their age- but there are a lot more factors at play than just hairstyle. Modern ladies naturally look younger because they aren't wearing clothes & makeup that was popular in the 80s. They also have had access to WAY better & more extensive skincare, injectables, & (possibly) cosmetic surgery procedures. They also came up in an era when smoking was much less popular. So it's really no contest.

Thank you ericachacon for your insightful comments. JLo and Demi look fabulous thanks to thousands of dollars worth of "intervention" that 99% of us will ever be able to access. Yes, a more youthful hairstyle is important to looking less than your real age, but let's be realistic.

Also sun exposure- women used to literally oil themselves up and sit in the sun with a reflector on their faces for a “healthy” glow… resulting in leathery skin later in life.

I’m in my 60s and I agree with all of this. I’m not big on top but I’ve been wearing a push up bra for years. I tell my husband “I need to boost them up”. Now when he sees a woman with a saggy bust line he says “she needs a better bra” lol. Besides the long term skincare such as Retin A, vitamin C serum and sunscreen I’ve recently started using a red light mask and I love it! Another thing I feel is important is to have social contact with people of all ages. I enjoy hearing viewpoints of everyone not just my own age group.

Thanks Shea, I’m 55 and I’m just happy to age, many sadly aren’t. Also, I do me, if someone doesn’t like my hair long or what I wear for example, I really don’t care at this point. For me the biggest thing is the wisdom I’m gaining as I get older and also realizing worrying about what others think is a waste of time. Looking younger is fine and I enjoy taking care of myself, but I also know we can’t stop it either if we are so blessed to continue aging. Enjoyed the video 💜

I’m not saying it’s always easy, but it helps to accept it better, if that makes sense? I remember in my 30’s thinking I was getting old and I think back at that and wonder what I was thinking. We waste precious time worrying about these things and in the end it truly doesn’t matter, the time lost worrying is what’s sad. Now in my 50’s I think this is the youngest I’ll ever be from this point on and try to enjoy the good things at this stage of life. The comparison between Jennifer Lopez and Rue McClanahan is funny lol... obviously Rue isn't wearing hair extensions, and she's sporting a totally 80's hairstyle. The clothing is aging as well.... very 80's and old lady like. Then it's also obvious that Jen has a ton of facial fillers, botox, and has undergone a nose job. Rue looks like a normal aging 50 something year old. Honestly both ways of aging is fine, but I'm grateful to be able to combat some of these things since surgical and nonsurgical things have tremendously improved over the decades. There's nothing wrong either way in how you want to age. It's a personal choice. I do want to say that what you mentioned is true to help with aging, but when you look at people like Jennifer who are absolutely stunning at her age it's more about the procedures than it is about the 8 hours of sleep. I'm totally on board with your suggestions, but the reality is a plastic surgeon is going to take a decade or more off your appearance. 😊

Aging starts on the inside first then it shows up on the outside. All the surgeries and skincare in the world won’t help if you don’t start from within with nutrition and supplement therapy ,exercise and good sleep. Aging is from bone loss, fat pad loss and collagen loss . You lose volume in your face from your fat pads shifting or depletion. And from your bones thinning in your face and that causes sagging.

The comparison of Angela Lansbury and Demi Moore is insane, because it isn't just Demi's hairstyle - she had a lot of cosmetic surgery. There isn't a line on her face, and that isn't because of her hair. Also, if you're over forty and wear distressed denim, you'll make yourself look ancient, and also out of date, because it hasn't been a "thing" in years. In fact anything very trendy will make you look much older.

The way people dress now in general already makes us look younger, compared to decades ago. Older women nowadays don’t get the requisite “old lady haircut” and start dressing matronly. I’m 49 and I look young by genetics, but I also wear the same types of clothes I wore in my 20s and 30s and no one has any idea how old I am unless I tell them. When I look at pics of my mom at the same age, she does look her age just because of her clothes and hair, not because of her physical attributes.

They would come and give me a compliment (as a little child )but walk away and I’d only have 16-18 year old boys approach me😢when I’d tell them my real age then you’d have to deal with their reaction of shock. So no looking way younger than your age is not always a beneficial thing. But I can understand after the age 35 why women want to look younger than their age. But imo I like older women who look their age and embrace their age because there is a radiance and full of life in it.

I think it’s because I’m very petite and wear younger looking clothing, like the distressed jeans, my rock band t’s, Birkenstocks, ect. I also have not gone through menopause yet so I think that is keeping me younger as my hair is still very thick and shiny and my skin doesn’t appear aged, except on my hands as I’m a nurse and have to wash them WAY too much.

Why can't we take care of ourselves. Should we not wear proper bras, should we embrace not sleeping well, should we not think about what we wear on our bodies? If you want to embrace saggy boobs, dress frumpy, don't care to wear makeup etc that's fine, but you shouldn't be implying that those of us that care aren't embracing that we are still alive. You can't compare a short hair style to a long one. It's apples and oranges. Plus, in the case of Rue and Angela, those hairstyles are from the 80s to early 90s as opposed to JLo now in 2023. I would opt for comparing short to short. JMO.

She has a nice light hair colour and style and good genes admittedly, few wrinkles. She looks 50 at most. She brought her daughter who is 50. I kid you not. I had never met her, and I thought she was a similar age to my friend before she introduced her as her daughter! She actually looked older. Hair was past shoulder length, unstyled and mostly grey around the face especially. She was quit overweight and hadn’t made an effort with her outfit. It made a huge difference.

Rue McCLanahan was 50 years old in 1984! Sadly, she passed in 2010 at the age of 76. Times were different in 1984. Hair was different back then, fashion was different back then, styles were different back then, people aged faster back then, so it is absolutely *RIDICULOUS* to compare her to Lopez. Not to mention, Rue did not have to portray herself as a sex symbol in her career like so many desperate women today feel they have to. I don't know ANY 50-year-olds who wear their hair that way today. As well as the other comparisons. Please don't draw ignorant conclusions.

She looks great, not botched, just younger than she is by a lot. Anyway, she told me not to do it and that she wishes she would have just let herself age. She said that when you look 48 but are actually 68, the 48 year olds don't really want to hangout with you, and that the other 68 year olds will hate you for looking young. There isn't any place to fit with other females. She also said that people will ask more of you than they would ask of a 68 year old (driving around, helping out around the house, and other projects). She said that she still feels 68, and it hard having other people think you are physically capable of more than you are.

Feeling younger than my age is more important to me than looking younger. I think that JLo and celebrities can buy all of those procedures to look younger, but I could never do Botox or anything like that because I would not put those chemicals in my body. No I won't look as young, but I think aging naturally is going to make me feel better. I am in my 40s and I feel like I act younger than many of my kids' friends' moms because I am active and eat really healthy. I know lots of people 10-20 years younger who act older because they don't stay active. I don't judge anyone else for doing cosmetic procedures, but that's not my thing.

Yes, most celebrities do cosmetic procedures because it’s a quick fix and they have the money. The rest of us have to be smarter because we don’t have the money. But that’s the silver lining to not having the money, we have to go the natural routes which end up being healthier for us in the long run. Cosmetic procedures are like taking a drug or pill to help with depression/ anxiety. They might be a fast solution but they will end up causing you more issues in the long run.

Honey is a miracle in many ways. It never goes bad never! It's been found in Egyptian tombs, and it's still good. If it can preserve itself, it must be able to preserve our skin. I'm 65 and this honey mask was being touted when I was 15 years old. Egg white masks were also popular. It will tighten your skin. I recently saw an article where scrambled raw egg whites is being left on the skin as a primer😊

I don’t mind getting older, but don’t like looking older. I definitely have trouble with sleeping. Thanks, I’ll try. I have a red light therapy mask. It does help but I forgot to use it. Need to step it up.

$455 for the light mask is out of my budget. Is there one that is more reasonably priced that doesn't compromise on quality? Thanks.

Regarding the breats department, yes, the bras we wear are really important. Besides that, I highly, highly recommend going to the gym and doing exercises for your lats and back muscles, as well as for your chest. It will take time, but you will have results if you are consistent. The breasts themselves do not have muscles, but by toning your under arm area, your back, your torso will look better and it will be ablee to better support your breasts. There are tons of good, legit fitness influ3ncers on YT with plenty of content showing you how to exercise. Plus, another important thing to do: don't slouch!!! Keep a straight back.

I always read to make fishy lips to apply blush 😂. I’m with you in the boob department. I’m almost 57 and I love distressed jeans! I agree with the longer hair style.

The hairstyles that Rue, Angela, etc had in the pxts you showed were very popular then so they would have looked very fashionable at the time. Plus those women didn’t have access to the broad range anti aging treatments we do now. Not a fair comparison. The tip should have been on keeping current with hair & clothing styles that suit your body & shape face. I use a hyaluronic serum morning & night as part of my skin regime so no need to mix with foundation. Good tip is cleanse your face & apply your night skin care a couple of hours before you go to sleep so you don’t rub it off on your pillow case before it’s absorbed.
