Olivia is going to remember these days the rest of her life. That her daddy was never too serious to not get outside and have fun with her sledding. Believe me bc i remember the opposite of my dad. He never came outside to do anything and never had fun with us. He was always so serious and grumpy. I love seeing dads like you who appreciate their kids. Sorry for being sappy i just had to let you know that you are doing a great job as a father. 👍😊

"Fits like a glove!" I love that feeling when things work out. I know this is intended for pigs but it'll do for a travelling henhouse. Chickens are so efficient at clearing undergrowth and prepping land for gardening. I'm glad I found this channel.

It's 54 here, and we finally have sun. I noticed the birds singing last evening when I was doing my chores. The hens are laying better. The sheep have been escaping their pen, and I have been finding them behind the barn in the grass. It brown, but they are enjoying being out in the sun. Your supper looked wonderful. I'm using that idea next time we have chicken. I picked some meat birds yesterday. Come on Spring!
I like this game of hide and seek we play in the morning! I think we should hide in the fridge, or snuggled up with Pluto and Tanner! ❤️👍🏼

My daughter in law used to work with pigs at the local university. Many nights she or the student workers spent the night pulling tiny baby pigs from gilts. We would take the grandkids to see their mom and the baby pigs. They were fun to watch. She even brought a few runts home to feed with a baby bottle, because they would starve if left with their siblings, fighting for milk. Then she returned them to the feeder floor.

Glad you found us in the goat feeder it was so cold last night but the hay kept us warm. You and Olivia set a new sled record for the longest ride. I like how Pluto chases after you on your sled rides. Maybe one day she will jump in and ride too.

You always come up with good designs. Spring wii be here soon yeh. With your left over cold chicken make sandwiches but add chopped apples and chopped walnuts. With mayo very good. Sometimes I also add dry copped cranberries.and even better on crescents

As always thanks for the memory revival Al !!! When my son was Olivia's age we had a sledding site in the mountains we'd go to for the day. Across the highway was a diner built like a giant hot dog and that was our lunch treat (best hot dogs ever). Zach still remembers the hot dog diner and the fun we had.
You made me flinch when your glove caught up in the drill. Almost broke a wrist once drilling in steel !!!

Looks like Pluto needed to go inside as she is cleaning the ice and snow out of her pads. A dog loses a major amount of heat thru their pads. They can also get frostbite.

I love how creative and industrious you are! I want you to know that you truly do inspire me every morning with your energy and spirit. I am in the process of planning my first ever raised bed Gardens and will have my teen son help me build them. Here in North Carolina it’s already spring like weather so we will be getting started on this project next week :-)

I’ve been using the GRK screws in place of lags and I’m sold. I won’t be buying old fashioned lag screws anymore. They are quick and easy to spin in with battery tools and they’re as strong as lags too. I thought everyone knew about cross hatching an onion before slicing. It’s how we’ve made “hot dog onions” for picnics as long as I can remember. Love the sled run and the sled riding. I know having fun when I see it. 😎👍

Eggs from New Yoak City, and l do hear the birds. My birds chirp around here because someone feeds them, beside me. When l put bread out under my blue spruce, l hear all sorts of birds. It's sunny here, but rain is supposed to be coming on Saturday or Sunday. It was cold in the goat feeder., Next time l think l'd like to hide in the basement next to the fire with the dogs and Figerooooo. The contraption looks great! Fun experiment for Olivia? Dump your bottle of hot water quickly and seal it up tightly as quickly as you can (you want the air inside to be as warm as possible.) As the jug cools, the air inside will exert less pressure and the jug will collapse a little bit. Then if you have any aluminum cans, put a small bit of water in the bottom and set it on the stove. Get the water in the can to a rapid boil. Grab the can with tongs or whatever and quickly place it in a sink of cool water with the open end down. It will immediately collapse, crushing the can. Uses the same idea, but a more dramatic temperature change.
Next summer , when you have a bobcat, you should build a small hill. Next winter you'll have your own customized sled run. :)

Nice video. Wow, you are over 68,000 subscribers. I remember when you were around 5000. You and your ho,E stead have certainly come a long way. Three degrees seems so cold. We were in the 60s yesterday. I will bet the windchill is very cold. I do not miss my days in growing up in Upstate New York. I do not miss the high taxes either. That white stuff is so pretty, but also so cold. We are still using air conditioning from time to time and it is still February. God bless you all.
Olivia, tell your father to spray the bottom of the sled with PAM to go faster and longer, or use paraffin like surfers use. Your sledding vids brings back memories of days gone by. Have fun!

Winter is letting go here in Elko Nevada either I woke up to -6 degrees today.. Love your channel.. I have noticed you keep getting flat tires on your tractor.. I filled my tires with foam.. Best 200$ I have spent. The rubber with wear out before they go flat again.. Give Pluto an ear scratch for me..

Have you considered raising rabbits for food? They're low maintenance, reproduce "like rabbits", and are a great addition to your farm family. Other additions could be sheep, Llamas, Alpaca, burros, geese, turkeys, horses, ect. Another thing, we used to trap predators outside the perimeter of the farm. It reduced the loss of livestock and provided another source of hides or income.
I think there is going to be a baby goat later! So cute, I can't hardly wait. Your wagon is going to be really nice and handy too on the farm. I think Pluto loves chasing after the sled when you and Olivia sled down that big snow hill! Looks like so much fun. Winter has been really rough on you guys. We had a late start to winter, but it is making up for it now. But we are still having temp swings and not staying cold like you guys are! I do better when we stay at one temp or the other - not the 20+ temp swings, they just do this old body in. lol I never thought to make this pie this way with chicken. Will have to try that out. My late husband loved it with the ground beef, but I'm thinking the chicken looks pretty good too! The sunsets have been amazing that is for sure!! Great video once again Al!

Once again, a great video! My brother and I grew up on a farm with our parents that was 17 miles northwest of Spooner, WI. The closest kids were 3.5 miles away. Your daughter seems fine in the partial isolation thanks to the attention you give her. She goes to school and meets other kids: You're doing all the right things, my friend. And you can cook, too! Were you going to get your daughter into 4H, scouting, or some other organization?

The robin's run like clockwork for me. I saw them 2 weeks ago here in Florida. I celebrate then plant the next day. Same with the fall. When they pass thru it means it's gonna turn chilly.

Today in Florida its 70F to 86F. Lots of ac in use and our evenings are by the swimming pool. Citrus trees to perfume the air make it almost perfect. But your winter wonderland is beautiful to look at.
