This is a video on how to modify your computers AIO (all in one) water cooler! I mostly show how to change the tubes on them because that is a process the majority of AIOs have in common. Having clear tubes means you can see the water in the system, and if you dye it a cool color then you've got something unique and interesting showcased inside your PC.
You can also change the look of the radiator and pump, but the way to do that is different on every AIO so I can't show how to do it on every one. I do have an example of how to do one of them, so if you've got the same one then you can copy it! Otherwise, you'll need to experiment. Don't fret though, taking apart the pump is much easier than draining and refilling the loop.
I got my clear soft tubes from EKWB: www.ekwb.com/s...
It's good to use tubes that are specifically designed for this purpose, if you get lower quality ones they will tend to degrade over time and get gunk in your liquid.
Some places you can find coolant and anti corrosive water treatment! I used Mayhems in the video, but I also suggest Thermaltakes P1000 coolant as it has that nice anti corrosive quality. Mix your coolant with distilled water if you need extra liquid.

Really love your work too! You should go commercial. I would definitely order stuff if you do.
I've just subbed to both channels!
Haha, cool stuff! Bit-tech is great!
Can you try this with the kraken please
4 years later, would this method work with a custom loop forgoing a reservoir or distro plate
5 years later, this still a damn good straight forward video on modding AIOs, thanks mate!
@@corpingtons yeah, it's a 5yo video bruh but the basis still pretty much the same to any AIO.
@@Dougline_ hey yeah definitely the basics are the same I was looking at the video cuz I want to put hard tubing on my nzxt aio because I like the screen a lot and the radiator doesent really matter and I want to put liquid graphene in for cooler temps but I am not sure if the nzxt z73 has barbs at the cooler part and not wanting to take it apart before I know it works properly it won’t be super hard if it’s actually had a proper fitting so it looks nice
What's outdated exactly?@@corpingtons
This video is old. Anyone finding it in present time. You’ll want to know how much liquid the OEM puts in. Some air is required, water expansion under heat is a real deal. With zero air and all water. Thermal expansion could be a serious issue causing leaking/cracks/etc which would damage the air or other components. So leave some air but better just find how much liquid the oem puts in w/e aio you have. That’s the key.
Would adding a reservoir solve this issue? Im planning to daisy chain a few old aios to make a gpu cpu loop and my plan was to use a reservoir to solve any filling issues as well as thermal expansion.
Hey yes this is very true
@@problematicg3nius912hey yes you should use a reservoir/pump is fine if the water block is not the pump like I want to use my nzxt z73 as the block and have a pump but the pump is built in itself
If the cooler is old I suggest checking the barbs for galvanic corrosion. If you see any signs, disassemble the CPU block to check it for clogging particles of aluminum & super carefully clean the fins then put it back together before proceeding with the rest of the video.
This literally makes it possible to build a custom loop of multiple rads in a very cheap way! Thanks alot!
Finally something different than those cable mod "tutorials"
Bummed to see you're not making videos anymore this was super cool
Thank you dearly for giving me confidence in doing this beautiful DIY. I'm going to do this on my asetek 120mm and probably up it to a 240mm.
Thank you. One thing you might want to mention if you update. Most hoses are permeable to a limited degree. Over time they all lose water and eventually the pump fails when it starts pumping air. By doing what you've recommended, you can extend the life of the pump, maybe not a lot, (I have no science to back this up) but better than just letting a pump die after a few years. Really like your channel for the ideas. I'm using this one to extend a loop that was too short for little $$$.
Service it every 12 months it will last for years.
How does he not have millions of subs yet? his videos are Llterally straight forward and simple asf. also they are completely useful stuff.
More to come soon :)
It's been a while since the last one.
Look, you went straight and easily solved the problem of the presence of air in the pressure line of the liquid, I watched many videos doing repairs on this hydro and none of them used this method of plunging the suction line of the pump into the tank! Congratulations I'm going to do the same thing on my H100i Corsair!!!
Very helpful to me that you showed taking apart that corsair aio to paint the trim. Exactly what I was looking for!
Dude did you come up with this method yourself? you are a genius!
I did not! I don't know who invented it though, probably was many years ago when AIOs started to be a thing honestly
i am legit thinking of doing this to my brand new NZXT Kraken Z73 Aio......... Great Vid thank you so much
Im amazed about how simple is the stock join of the radiator and pump, just pushing the tube and that’s it :0
Thanks for the video, it’s very useful!
Totally did this on my cooler master ML240L. It worked so well that i did it to my h60 as well. Heres a tip. Crayola makes these color tablets for kids baths, there designed to not stick to or diy and surface they come in contact with. So now you can color the aio water now
What wss the id snd od of the tubes of fhe ml240l tubes thst u used?

So how did it turn out ?
@@EpicBunty haha sorry damn auto correction
@@Yo.m haha sorry but that don't like look auto correction haha more like brain gap
I was surprised at how little water came out of that radiator when you had the pump on when you were burping the loop. I thought the flow would of been quite a bit stronger but instead, it literally dribbled out! I suppose the default pump speed is on like a balanced setting. I was looking at my Corsair H100iv2 and instead of it having that sort of shrink rap black rubber, mine has plastic. There is really nothing to cut unless I really take this thing a part it seems. I'll probably have to go find a teardown video of my aio to get started. Love your mods man!
Perfect timing! My brother and I were about to buy 2 360 Castle RGB(s) and I was debating on doing something like this.
Did you end up doing it?
@@zozeur2172 i guess no
Great video!
If using anti-freeze with corrosion inhibitors make sure to USE GLOVES! Take proper safety using Ethylene glycol!
I love your videos and this one was particularly useful to me because my AIO started to make bubbling/rattling sounds, so I needed to refill it. I watched many vids about the procedure, including the GN one (which was very pathetic TBH) and your video stands as the BEST among the other ones because of its clean procedure. Nice tutorial. Well done. THANKS!
Content like this will bring your channel really far. Great video :)
Lovely performed man! I did this last year to two different AIOs, can approve it's easy and encreases performance and looks. For all those people who havent't allready an AIO to do so I would suggest buying an AIO such as Eisbear (LT) which is acctually designed to be modded. I loved to mod mine twice allready.
dude im 3 years late but i wanna ask, can i use nzxt x62 radiator only as custom loop is it gonna fit with tubing like Ekwb ZMT ?
Think I'm gonna wait until the warranty ends before I mod my H115i...
it has 5 year warranty omg
@@alejandro73351 o rly? nvm then lol
tbh i like it as it is so probably wont mod it anyway

@@ImmodderNation what was the idea?
@@slazy824 I think I can tell now since i'm not sure i'm going to do it. I was going to turn it into a custom loop.
@@ImmodderNation that was..... anti-climactic to say the least.
I know it's been a few years but thank you for making this. I have the H80i and I'm going to do this but add a reservoir on the outside.
wouw, was just looking for a way to mod the logo on the AIO, but never really knew how it would look taken apart. Thx a lot!
Gates PowerGrip SB Clamp for that super clean look
Please make a tutorial how to add GPU block in to the loop. I have same corsair you have used in a video with triple rad. I believe it could cool my 1080ti too.
I think that it would be dependent on strong the pump is.
You'd need to be able to power through not just two, but four hoses.
I could see that with an open loop setup and using the CPU as a pressure booster if you intend on cooling a lot of components or have a bunch of radiators in your loop.
jayztwocents made a video for that
nice contents, didnt know the trick to fill the AIO under the water until I see your vid. thanks
BIT TECH may be the more advanced channel but I like the fact that what I see here I wouldn't need to refinance my house to get tools and supplies to try .
Love that dude.
this is giving me motivation might hardline my aio
\
It is possible to use your AIO block as a CPU block on a complete custom loop, if anyone is considering getting a custom loop and is coming from an AIO out of warranty it might be a dumb but fun idea just for the uniqueness of it, of course you would also need a Pump/Reservoir combo if the Block pump is actually damaged or for redundancy for when it goes bad in the future.
I don't see why not, have you tried this?
@@budthechud3408 nah, my aio has been so good that i never got the need to do it
WTF?! I was literally searching for this yesterday!
I found a coolermaster aio with 14cm radiator for 8 usd. :D It is working. I allready own a 24cm corsair. I am going to build a dual cpu system in near future. I am planning to combine the two aio. :D This video has been very helpful. Thank you very much. My plan is: Cpu block, 14cm radiator, cpu block, 24cm radiator. So I will have two pumps working. :D First I should check wether it is going to become a problem or not. But if it does not become a problem, than that is it. :D 38cm radiators for two cpus should be enough. If not, then I can try to hunt down broken aio's, because generally their pump dies out. When my pump dies out, I can use aquvarium pump (1999 style. My first water cooler system was consisting of tupperware as water tank, aquvarium pump inside tupperware, car heater radiator, cpu block, gpu block and northbridge block. :D )
It been a long thanks for coming back n shearing ur ideas with us
I was literally searching for this 3 years ago lol.
Dietec is a good dude. Nice, mellow presentation.
That feeling when the first video out of a bunch of open tabs answers your question!
Is it just me or does this guy look incredibly similar to Big Head from silicon valley
Lmao yeah
Sick case art. I've never seen someone do something like that. LOTR
U are the genius that's what I looking for thank you man ☺️
I would have made the hose's a lil longer, plus I would have added a 360 radiator plus kept the 120mm radiator. Ive done this with a raijintek aio and i added a 360mm radiator to the existing 240mm radiator and the temps were practically lowered more than half the temps.
Once again top notch video! I just wish that you uploaded videos more frequently!
Me too haha. One day soon I'll have a workshop in my basement.
There is only one fault in this whole thing. Loops are a really meant to have a small amount of air. It is for expansion when temps get extremely high which can happen. If the loop is completely filled. It can cause pressure and make a leak. That's why deepcools new coolers have leak pressure valves. It's just something to watch out for .
This is so awesome and it looks like such a fun project. If only I had 120$ to spend on a cooler.
Next time add a reservoir. Will help a lot with refilling, de-airing and it also just looks cool ^^
This video was all I needed so I can refill my cooler🙏
I have to do this because the ML240R tubes aren’t long enough for the Lian Li o11 mini. I’m re sleeving the tubes with braided chrome Mylar and using heat shrink tubing to reseal it like it was before. Thanks for the tutorial
Antifreeze is the liquid to use water it down to 30% concentration and make sure its ethylene glycol based and advertises low or no silicate content and use ZMT/EPDM rubber tubing with it because itll react with certain clear tubing making it brittle and prone to failure. You dont want clear tubing anyways since itll leach plasticizer into the loop and gum up in blocks and radiators
Great video! Question:
If I got myself some Alphacool NexXxoS RXP-1 RAM-Cooler Black, it would be very straight forward to connect them up to a modded AIO like how you showed in this video, wouldn't it? Just add tubes and tighten them, and add them to the loop. Right?
My PC already has a good AIO for the CPU, but I found an old 240mm AIO in my PC parts box and I was thinking maybe I could try out water-cooling my RAM.... 😅
Thoughts?
Yep saving this video gonna do this with a ryujin ii and upgrade the rad to a 420 cheers for doing this ill have to share this on reddit
Finally finally you do it you are amazing bro i was searching a long time about how to custom the cooler can you make a video how to open the the corsair h60 2018 pipe ?
I think you can add a reservoir for added performance nice vids
Well this is good info, I was planning on an m-atx build for my son's gaming PC and was put off that I couldn't use my old H100i as the hoses are too long, and even easier for me because I don't need to replace the hoses, just trim them down and maybe sleeve them to a different color.
thanks dude! helped me out I'm going to add a 360mm rad to my corsair cooling 3950x
Cheers
You are amazing
I am interested in integrating a Kraken z73 system with a 16mm pipe cooling water system.
I have several questions.
1-Do you see it possible?
2-What is the input and output of the Z73?
3-The water flow would be too much for the Z73?
4- Cut the pipes and put another radiator type G1 / 4?
Thanks a lot.
lol I was just looking at your channel like 10 min ago to see if you had a new vid and then I get a notification. :) Yay!
Yay!! Yeah it's taking me a while lately to make them since I'm moving and am currently homeless lol. Hopefully soon I'll have a basement workshop though, good god that's going to be great.
@@DIYTechTube Hope your move is smooth and all goes well. And yay to the workshop. :)
Nice mod man thanks for sharing, have a few AIOs laying around and this is tempting.
Btw they have constant tension hose clamps if u don't like the screw kind
Loved your video ...keep bringing moding videos for different computer parts😊😘
I plan to!! I may take small breaks with videos sometimes if I'm busy, but I plan to keep the modding going for pretty much ever so they will keep coming! :)
I never understood why AIO sellers never offer different hose options? An AIO is more practical than a full custom loop system and with transparent hoses you could get the same bling.
Radiator liquid tubing has a heat rating so be careful when choosing pipe.
Phenomenal content as always. Keep up the good work.
happy you are back!
Hi it is super nice, I was wondering 2 things, I got the same aio!
What size is the tube ?
Is it possible to use the cpu block/pump on a bigger rad ?
tubes are usually 13/10 mm. I believe that the bigger the radiator, the bigger the pump should be.
Always nice to see your videos man!
ive got a sensor in my radiator that detects air in the loop this is normaly used in racecars if it detects air it turns a light or opens a valve specialy designed to remove air from liquid, it can be modded to shut the system down, its cheap and usefull as it detecs temp and pressure too with a 8mm hole if your pump fails it will off the system. i think motec ecu company has this too
Could I put a LED lit water deposit of some kind on the exit side of the radiator to make it easier to top up and also add some extra visuals? great video, thanks.
Has a custom loop... still watches video. Lol, good work man
I took my Evga 3080ti hybrid kit took off the 240mm radiator and swapped it for 360mm rad way better performance. These companies should customize these aio with clear tubes
You could take the impeller out of the pump and put a good inline water pump with fill tank for a mod
The radiator all inside the water blown my mind
Hello Dietec
Thanks for making these AIO videos.
These kind of in-depth walkthroughs are not common content.
I have seen your video on DeepCool Castle 360 I guess. Will these steps work on that particular AIO
The tube length is too much for my O-11 Dynamic razor edition case. I just want a shorter tube.
good Job man , I enjoyed to watch to your beautiful exeperience ...🌷🌺
This is exactly what I need. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the awesome guides on modding :) Quick question, for the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R, what inner diameter tube did you use? Consider getting that cooler for my next project, starting next month, so would be beyond helpful to know in advance :D
I don't remember what diameter! Lol sorry man
@@DIYTechTube That's alright, didn't expect you to remember :P The video is already plenty helpful! The only AIO i've ever modded was my first AIO, the Fractal Design Kelvin S24. Vinyl wrapped the shiny part of the CPU block with black carbon and added an EK res, EK fittings, some clear tubing and Mayhems red premix. Made it run through the VRM heatsink on the Z77 Maximus V Formula but didn't add a drainvalve or flush it beforehand, so the tubing ended up green on the inside haha
@@DIYTechTube Ah:( One year later and I am in the exact same spot with the question on the tubing. Got a Gen4 Asetek AIO and a cooper thick 240 rad for super cheap. Anyway, there is always a way to find out - to cut and measure myself:)

Make a video on the corsair aio mod, it looks soooo good!
Hi! Nice video bro, i want to customize my CM ml360r to make it works with my cpu and gpu, do u think theres any trouble about that? What size of tubes are u using?
Nice, i've been thinking of doing this for quite a while... Do you think that an nzxt pump (or basically any 240 rad pump, internally they're all kinda the same in speeds and l/h) would be okay with expanding the loop to cpu + gpu?
Actually not sure! These pumps are pretty weak. Try it and let me know :p
thank you for this very nice tutorial! good day to you!
I’d like to make the tubes shorter so it can fit nicely in an SFF case. Will shortening the tube make the cooler less effective? Thanks.

Awesome video. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I have AIO GPU and CPU, both seperate systems of course. I was wondering if when replacing the lines, do they have to be the same length? I want to make a custom case, and making the lines longer, would that cause any foreseen issue?
Thanks 👍
Hi dietec, ur videos really inspired me to mod my aio as well, I am using the coolermaster ML aio, the one shown in the video. Before committing fully into the mod though, I would like to know whats the inner diameter of the soft tube you used for this aio's barb size?
