A very impressive tape deck which I presume is 1/4 track reverse play/record? I have seen one other video of an open reel deck, with this type of transport. This machine has amazing precision design and engineering I am thinking it was one of Akai's later production machines. If I remember correctly, via the previous video these decks were very expensive over 10k.
Good look but bad hardware inside. This recorder is design trap. Behind nice design is creepy and cheap DC motors, stupid belts as source of technical fails. Technically this is junk. Is better to own GX 635 or 636 (for example) wich is great machines.
Ik had vroeger dezelfde bandrecorder, weg gedaan vanwege de steeds duurder werden de banden. Ik had toen een topklasse cassetterecorder gekocht.
