  • Hitting hard is fun and hitting hard can be affective. But the issue many of us have is trusting ourselves when we go for bigger shots. In this video I help you gain that confidence with 1 simple to practice drill. HAVE FUN

    wouw the first person i see to ask to keep body quiet to start !!! doing this for years and it works great. and if they relax at contact the body will start to follow automaticly also and after that they will bring in the body automaticly to without thinking about it
    good video

    Hi Will, could you make a video about how to handle fast or loopy deep returns? I’m struggled to manage these types of shots after my serve. I tend to move back but it doesn’t work well.

    Nice shirt. My guess is that Nike made the shirt especially for you?
    Or the other possibility is that you got a plain Nike shirt and then manually stuck on the *IW* logo. 🤔

    This is a great video, and it is really a good method for practicing many other shots as well. A big fan of your channel. Your explanation from biomechanics clarified a lot of things for me. Also really enjoyed your footwork video. It would be great if you can explain/show some recovery footwork, especially when balance is in the front after contact/weight transfer.

    i have a few questions you might be able to do a video on…..one of which involves receiving a high and modestly spinning but otherwise largely paceless ball from one’s opponent. I feel displeased by having to grind on this shot and would prefer to hit a flatter aggressive shot when receiving this ball. it seems like primarily a forehand thing but i have played individuals who seem to be able to execute this aggressive shot on their backhand as well, whereas i am limited to strike-zone balls to be aggressive. thanks and I really love your channel.

    Will, I'd love to support the channel by purchasing a T-shirt, but personally I'd prefer a subtler logo on the left breast area. Having multiple color offerings is great, but I think that you should start out with just white to see the demand.

    So this might be super basic but during short court warm up on my OHBH sometimes I feel like I’m pushing and not top spinning it to make sure it lands in. And then when we go back, then will drive the TS backhand more any thoughts? There are no good short court warm up vids especially with a 1hbh

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  11 месяцев назад

      You got it, I will add it to the list 👍 but in the mean time, yes you definitely want to get that spin going even in the short court

  • @watcher687
    @watcher687 11 месяцев назад +1

    You said one handed backhand relies less on rotational power and it’s more linear from the leading shoulder, which made sense to me initially but then I remembered one handers turn/coil more than two handers and I’m confused now, Will.

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  11 месяцев назад

      1 hander coil in the beginning to build momentum since 1 arm is less stable than 2 so speed is the factor, but the forward rotation is cut short to allow the arm to extend without pulling across. Bigger finishing rotation on tge 2 hander to bring the back shoulder forward 🤓

    The other progression would be legs and core no arm. Its very robotic but it seems to help people understand the importance of the arm finishing well

    • @ironwilltennis
