- Hitting hard is fun and hitting hard can be affective. But the issue many of us have is trusting ourselves when we go for bigger shots. In this video I help you gain that confidence with 1 simple to practice drill. HAVE FUN
Excellent coaching powerful 👏 and practical tips so useful❤
Duuuuuuuude, I’ve been hawking your shirts since the first video. Gimmeeeee!
wouw the first person i see to ask to keep body quiet to start !!! doing this for years and it works great. and if they relax at contact the body will start to follow automaticly also and after that they will bring in the body automaticly to without thinking about it
good video
Thank you for the compliment 😁
Can’t wait to try. I was watching Korda today and his Easy power is sick. So effortless.
He's a perfect example
This is the best explanation I’ve seen of how to add power to your shots. thanks.
Your welcome happy to help
Hi Will, could you make a video about how to handle fast or loopy deep returns? I’m struggled to manage these types of shots after my serve. I tend to move back but it doesn’t work well.
The shirts are great. But because you are so fit. Would be interested to see an I-W on Emily (or George 😂) to see how it would look on the rest of us...
That's fair 👌 they actually have them
Nice shirt. My guess is that Nike made the shirt especially for you?
Or the other possibility is that you got a plain Nike shirt and then manually stuck on the *IW* logo. 🤔
Sound explanations and expert demonstrations Will, thank you.
Very welcome 😁 hope it helps
Thanks for this one. I've been teaching hip rotation as the connection between the legs and arm but this should help my students with timing/flow.
Hope it helps 🙏 let me know how it goes
Shirts would rock!
Thanks for the compliment and answer
Pretty please, launch the shirts 😊! Hoping for XS with feminine cut sleeves or cammie or lady tank ❤! Fingers crossed. Thanks in advance.
Working on it!
Always enjoy your video, Keep up the good work. Thanks
Thank you for the compliment 😁 hope it keeps you moving forward
The shirts are 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you 😁
Been following for a while now, looking forward to more collabs!
I'm excited for the other ones that are coming
This is a great video, and it is really a good method for practicing many other shots as well. A big fan of your channel. Your explanation from biomechanics clarified a lot of things for me. Also really enjoyed your footwork video. It would be great if you can explain/show some recovery footwork, especially when balance is in the front after contact/weight transfer.
I can definitely add that to the list
@@ironwilltennis Thank you so much! I had taken many lessons and watched a lot of youtube videos. Because you always incorporate biomechanics and physics, I always feel I understand better watching your video. Watched (and rewatched) them all.
I'd be interested in a shirt for sure. Regarding future content, perhaps some help on putting away short balls with a 1HBH?
You got it 👍
Great content -- u practise what you preach-- please help me with a double handed BH- every time I go for a double handed BH - my left hand comes off the racquet-
Your videos are great, and so are the shirts!!
Thank you for both compliments 🙏
I get so much out of your videos. Consistent power is something I need to add to my game. As much I dig this channel, I gotta pull for Dill Plays Tennis in your head to head. It’s an RVA thing 🤣👊🏿
Fully understand 😁 I'm still happy to help you out 👍
i have a few questions you might be able to do a video on…..one of which involves receiving a high and modestly spinning but otherwise largely paceless ball from one’s opponent. I feel displeased by having to grind on this shot and would prefer to hit a flatter aggressive shot when receiving this ball. it seems like primarily a forehand thing but i have played individuals who seem to be able to execute this aggressive shot on their backhand as well, whereas i am limited to strike-zone balls to be aggressive. thanks and I really love your channel.
I can tackle this one for you 👍
@@ironwilltennis i’m so looking forward!
I tried immediately and it makes me consistent. Thanks Will
Glad to hear it 😁 keep it going 👍
Love it, will go out and try it today.
Let me know how it goes 😁
@@ironwilltennis It went well. Really like the exercise. Will have to do it a lot more
Will, I'd love to support the channel by purchasing a T-shirt, but personally I'd prefer a subtler logo on the left breast area. Having multiple color offerings is great, but I think that you should start out with just white to see the demand.
Nice
Great video bro !
Thank you 😁 hope it helps
Please do video for on the run forehand cross courts, i always shank it
Easy, already did 1 😁👍

So this might be super basic but during short court warm up on my OHBH sometimes I feel like I’m pushing and not top spinning it to make sure it lands in. And then when we go back, then will drive the TS backhand more any thoughts? There are no good short court warm up vids especially with a 1hbh
You got it, I will add it to the list 👍 but in the mean time, yes you definitely want to get that spin going even in the short court
You said one handed backhand relies less on rotational power and it’s more linear from the leading shoulder, which made sense to me initially but then I remembered one handers turn/coil more than two handers and I’m confused now, Will.
1 hander coil in the beginning to build momentum since 1 arm is less stable than 2 so speed is the factor, but the forward rotation is cut short to allow the arm to extend without pulling across. Bigger finishing rotation on tge 2 hander to bring the back shoulder forward 🤓

Great! Got it. Thanks.
The other progression would be legs and core no arm. Its very robotic but it seems to help people understand the importance of the arm finishing well
Yeah, I felt like that one would be weird to explain for people to actually go practice
@@ironwilltennis i just say its similar to a half volley at the baseline or a very compact return of serve! J mcenroe's entire baseline game was that robotic style
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… How many tennis players have their arms matching their UTR?
Only Will and Rafa 🔥💪🔥💪
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣 I will try to live up to that
When I try to put power all my balls it goes out of the of the court way far. 😢😢😢
I wonder why your video recordings start loosing focus out of nowhere...😊
It is rather frustrating 😁 camera upgrades coming soon 👍
Nice
Thank you 😁 hope it helps
