Learned a lot. Thank you for the presentation. This is the most promising technology of all that I've researched so far. Lived with BPH for 17 years with no problems, then it bit me hard. Have endured an indwelling catheter for one month; it sucks. Here's to steam!
I had a young urologist who really pushed TURP at me . I had it done, but he never told me about the side effects . The side effect I and others have is either a painful orgasm or an orgasm that is mechanical but gives no pleasure . Worst of all, post turp after I orgasm i don't have relief from sexaul tension . I am so depressed I barely leave my apartment . My most recent urologist who sadly retired told me I probably have neurogenic bladder because I still have to intermittent catheter several times a day . I am further depressed because from what I gather there is no way to regrow my prostate . My internist told be it does grow back as an a functional prostate but it is non functional tissue . I understand that males who have lived for 70 more years like turp . They have had their fair share of healthy and pleasurable sex in their lifetimes But I am a relatively young man and I feel like an "it" , like a drone ant . HELP !!!
Quite interesting. Seems to be superior to all current treatments. Incidentally, the energy released to the tissue is called the "Latent Heat of Condensation", taking place at constant pressure and temperature while the steam entropy is decreasing. Thermodynamically, it is an isoenthalpic process.
I watched all this video and have learned so much that I am very grateful. I have an appointment at urology next week and feel more confident especially re the cancer possibility. Regards Hayden
Thank you Dr. Levin, great job of explaining how this works. It is great that new procedures are being brought to market that are less harmful and more effective. "First do no harm". I may seek this procedure at some point in the future. Who would have thought that steam would work...genius!
Thank you so much for educating public. My question is how often the Rezum procedure should be repeated? In other words, once a patient has performed it how long does it last? Thank you
I had 37 treatments of high intensity radiation when i was 60 for prostate cancer, i will be 72 in November. I still have the symptoms of wanting, needing to urinate frequently and wondered if this treatment would be suitable for me to alleviate this.
Can Rezum be used to treat the median lobe in addition to the lateral lobe! I have been told that the better treatment for my bph is bipolar plasma vaporization because of a large median lobe. Thoughts
Is this procedure available at all Urology Clinics in New Jersey? Having to use a catheter every 6 hours to urinate can be a bit over the top at times for (BPH)? I live in a 6 hour world ..... this procedure may make a difference in my life!
What is the sensation during the actual procedure, meaning the level of any pain, also the average cost involved for the procedure and any information about post maintenance...thank you.
Excellent speech. Impartial and giving sufferers of BPH a full insight into the nature of the condition and the treatment options available.
I had my treatment 5 days ago in Paris and its cool,The price is less than 1000 euros and insurance has coverd 80 percent of the bills, thanks
