This is a superior presentation. I had PAE through Northwestern Hospital 4 months ago and can attest to its’ effectiveness. My experience closely followed Dr. Kovaleski’s description. After medication, this is the next logical treatment, if not the first.
I had PAE, and on the 7th day I felt the results and it was great. My stream was the strongest in 30 years. Some pain when urinating on days 3 and 4 but it was well worth it. I'm 75. Get it done.
Thank you doctor for posting this video. It is one of if not the best videos on you tube addressing this hideous affliction and you offer hope that those of us who suffer from BPH can indeed escape the butchery of the prostate and having surgical apparatuses shove up our urethras. My questions are: does Medicare cover this procedure and for those of us who would need to travel to get to you what travel restrictions are required. Oh yeah……must I get a referral from a local urologist with an MRI or do you do all of the pre procedure work up? Thank you. I’m feeling encouraged now.
Thank you for the detailed information! I had the TURP procedure done a year ago and symptoms have already returned, I am hoping to get resolve with this treatment.
2 questions, is PAE an alternative if you have Median Lobe from the prostate into the bladder? If you had a vericocele embolization, can you also have a PAE procedure?
Alcohol and caffeine may stimulate the urge to urinate and cause overactive bladder. Alcohol can also have an inflammatory effect on the prostate causing increase in swelling.
We leave in the catheter and have you follow up with your urologist or the provider who has been managing the catheter regarding trialing a removal of the catheter a week or 2 after treatment.
I had PAE over 2 years ago. It freed me from Tamsolsin for 2 years. But now going back on it. Any advice? Get second procedure? Take meds for 2 years and then see what is available?
Hello, if you are interested in having the procedure through our clinic you may call us at 720-668-8818 and we can answer any questions regarding cost.
Yes, there is a slight chance a bead could move to those other areas. The body would develop a new vascular supply to the area with time. There is a chance the tissue that sloughs off would include the bead(s). The beads are only the size of the tip of a fiber used for sewing.
Further imaging would be needed to understand the BPH and it's correlated symptoms. We have treated many prostates between 30-50grams with successful results.

Thank you for the very informative video. Do the beads the might get into the bladder, rectum or penis stay there? If not, where do they go?

Would you do a PAE when the size of the Prostrate is between 30g and 50g smooth? If so will the results benefit the patient?
