Excellent presentation, have had bph for 20-25 years. Had a very uncomfortable, waste of time, TUNA procedure 18 years ago. This is very promising, thank you so much
I had this procedure ( PAE) done 4 days ago by one of Sandeep Bagla's colleagues. Sandeep I believe was also monitoring. It was virtually pain free, just a tiny pinch when entering the artery. It was great relaxation from the Valium and twilight- IV for the 1-hour procedure. Next day I felt nothing, everything was as normal. 3rd day I felt some pressure around my Perenium and was urinating frequently. 4th day all that subsided and now everything feels normal again. The PAE procedure is truly nothing to worry about guys

Hi, I had PAE done in Sydney Au last October 2021. I ended up with ischemia of the rectum which was the most debilitating thing I’ve ever experienced. It lasted for over four months until it came right. As for my prostate problems the PAE did the job. My radiologist failed to explain to me about my rather large 250cc prostate could cause extra problems. But I’d recommend PAE to all.
Thank you doctor so much for making this excellent video. I've learned a lot. I've had 5 surgeries for kidney and bladder stones that left me with scar tissue that left me with problems urinating. Had to have a meatotomy which helped just a little as I spray when urinating now. Being afraid of having more surgery into my penis this PAE sounds really good. My prostate is 120 cc but with medication I'm not having any problems urinating ....so far. Super video. Thank you.
My husband had a urolift procedure in 2017. Now encrustation occurred when minerals from the urine deposit on the surface of the indwelling urolift implant. On 3/30/22, he had a cystolitholapaxy procedure to remove the "stone" encrusted on one of the implants. At the follow up visit, the urologist told us that only 50% of the "stone" was removed and my husband have to undergo another cystolitholapaxy procedure to remove the remaining "stone". My husband has low pain threshold, it was exhausting to take care of him postoperatively. He took Norco before bedtime, due to the constant irritation after the procedure. Then the narcotic induced sleep apnea happened, his pulse ox dropped to 88% at one point. It was a sleepless night for me. In my opinion , I do not recommend urolift procedure, it is a good quick fix but does it worth to go through the potential pain and sufferings in the future? Will my husband benefit from the PAE procedure now? What could happen to the remains urolift implant?

Im in the Houston TX area and there are 2 locations that do PAE. I have had the Laser Turp which did nothing and blockage returned. My urologist wants to do the TURP but I refused. Would PAE be affective for me?
What is better, going through the wrist or through the groin to complete the PAE? Is a catheter required after the procedure, and if so, how long is the catheter inserted before it is removed?
Two questions: 1. What size (micron) beads do you use or do you prefer in order to have the best results? 2. Should both sides of the prostate be treated at the same time (does it make sense to only treat one side or why would only one side be treated)? Thanks
I had a PAE two days ago. My perspective; The most painful part - and it's really not - is the needle in the arm to provide any meds that might be needed. I found that the most difficult part was having to lie motionless for a couple hours. I got an itchy nose, an itchy eye, etc. Nurse had to keep scratching them for me! Also my penis got in an awkward position that I so badly wanted to fix and couldn't and certainly wasn't going to ask the nurse for help with that. The procedure itself is nothing. The second biggest issue I had was having to lie still for another two hours after the procedure to make sure nothing got knocked out of position I guess. The worst part was that I got serious rectal pain that night. Fortunately I had on hand some opioids that helped with that. By morning, I was no longer in pain. Only other thing was mild discomfort in my abdomen.

At "The Ohio State University", PAE is done in the Interventional Radiology Dept. It is a six hour procedure lying flat on your back and awake. A Foley Catheter and urine collection bag is used. Local anesthesia. Six hours of radiation, Wow! A very long time to be awake and stressed out. Very scary I think. Can't handle that.

Hi Joseph - Please consult a doctor for your specific medical questions. You can get in touch with Dr. Bagla and his team here: www.medifind.com/doctors/sandeep-l-bagla/12983442
That's bullshit..2 hrs..most piece of cake.relaxing I've and you sleep maybe and done..no catheter either..yiu have very bad information
Incorrect information.
Not true
My actual procedure time was about a hour. They never put a catheter in me. I checked in to the university of Kansas at 9am. Was riding home by 1:30pm
Instead of all these treatments why dont they find the cause of prostate inflamation? so we cam cure the symptoms permanently.
Eat rt excersise no stress testoserone lvl high etc etc
Yeah, you get to work on that.
Im very angry. 2 weeks out of urolift surgery. My urologist never said a damn thing about this being available. F F F!!!!
Urologist don’t get money from this
@@daveyvane that's exactly why I'm upset.
how much radiation is the patient exposed to....are there cancer risks associated with PAE?
There is minimal X-ray radiation when performed by experienced operators and there is no increased risk of cancer
@@IRCentersUSA thank you for your reply; does having intrusion into the bladder by medium lobe pose a problem for a PAE procedure?
I'm surprised they don't do this in conjunction with urolift
Its only last for about a year
