Rajiv needs to have his own show traveling the world to visit obscure artisans doing traditional crafts. There is a market for such shows, I'm sure of it. Just like the late Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations show that focused on world cuisine. C'mon networks, give this young man his own show - he is amazing!
I hope we get to see you travel and visit more businesses with an area of expertise. I've really enjoyed this. Can you imagine knife makers in Japan, tapestry weavers and perfumers in France, and glassblowers in Milan? So many opportunities.
The sweetest thing about Rajiv is you can see how they start off explaining it vaguely and then they light up and get excited when he wants them to dive deeper. I love this guy. Big time role model.
None of my friends can understand how I can spend so much for custom gilt framing -RS would understand....I'm surprised RL hasn't tapped you as a home ware designer? Fantastico!
I’ve loved being a part of your return to Florence, Italy. Thank you for thinking to take your viewers with you. And many thanks to your videographer for the amazing work he did filming and editing. He truly captured the essence of your journey and the artisans you interviewed.
The finish on those frames is exquisite: soft, warm and breathing. I am envious. It's so lovely to see these trades, crafts and skills still living. Thank you.
I notice that you didn't risk wearing your newly aquired bespoke straw hat in the rain Rajiv. I know that you'll be ultra careful transporting your hat on your journey home. Perhaps you need two...one to keep in Florence (with your bike) and another to bring back to NYC? 🤔 I would now love to order something from Castorina too...with so many options available it's going to be difficult to decide. Such warm welcoming and talented gentlemen. Thanks Rajiv. 👱❤️
"How Rajiv lost his eye in Italy." 🧐 lol... I knew that was coming, MY whole career was making safety videos. I had a hunch that Rajiv would not be handed a pair of safety glasses. "It was a one in a million chance!" They all said. (That the thing flew off and blinded the guy). Now, in USA we think nothing of always buckling up when driving...ask ANY emergency room nurse their opinion .We LOVE you Rajiv❤
I would love and angel and Jesus face. This trip you are sharing with us is amazing. Yes every shop is generations of skills passed on to another generation. We have lost a lot of those skills in the states because people won't invest in a well made product, they want cheap China junk from Amazon.
The 6 o’clock bells are the Angelus bells. They call all Catholics to prayer, specifically the Angelus prayer. They ring at every 6 hours though rarely at midnight for laypeople.
I'm so impressed by people who can turn simple blocks of wood into beautiful objects, it's truly magical.
This trip has been amazing. Such lovely old shops still doing the same work as their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. It’s wonderful.

I’ve watched samurai sword makers in Japan and they’re on a whole other level. Just stunning.

I think your base is Linden wood..."Tilia"
Yes, that's right.....lime.
are linden, tilia and lime all interchangeable terms to describe the same kind of wood?
England....lime tree
Germany...lindenbaum....linde
Spanish....Tillia
We can do coggles here :)
Love this also please check your email
