I'm recently got into weightlifting; and I come from a Calisthenics background. This gives me a legit excuse to keep doing weighted Calisthenics. Weighted Calisthenics are my all time favorite type of upper body strength training.

Thank you for reintroducing me to the z press. Loved that exercise but haven't done those in a while. May even do it as a main movement. Apply a speed and power component
Lat swings - like a dB pullover but with less R.O.M. Z press - seated press with legs straight out in front of you Telle extensions - eccentric of a skull crusher, but then bring into a close grip bench Neutral grip pull ups Dips
Snatch grip (behind the neck presses) are amazing. Obvious they’re often called Klokov presses because he used them to strengthen strength in locking out the snatch. They’re actually good for your shoulders. The only people who think BTN pressing is bad are people who have messed up shoulders (often from benching too much). These are the only lift to ever put serious width on my shoulders. Doing a mini complex of muscle snatches + snatch grip presses is amazing.
Those were the videos we had on hand to demonstrate the exercise but for Olympic lifting we do recommend a slight pause at the top for maximum results. Good catch 👍
Dane, I've heard you discuss in other videos how strength training does contribute to weight loss contrary to popular belief, but I'm wondering which kind of strength training is better for weight loss: training that promotes myofibrillar hypertrophy, or training that promotes sarcoplasmic hypertrophy?
Thanks man. Olympic lifting involves movement vertically so a bench press which is horizontal pressing doesn’t correlate as well to a Tricep movement which translates well to the snatch and jerk
Dane, I remember Jerry Telle from nearly 20 years ago when he posted on Dr Mel Siff's Supertraining discussion list. I think I may have read that he passed away. Is that true?
The Telle extension you advise using the ez bar or could I rip these with a straight bar? I like the idea of chains also. Going to try tmrw on an axel bar

We LOVE this exercise 💪
@@GarageStrength if you had to choose between z-press and strict kloklov press (standing or seated), which would you choose and why?
Good selection of exercises. Definitely beneficial. Although I did not see anyone in the video locking out the dips. Was there a reason for that?
Those were the videos we had on hand to demonstrate the exercise but for Olympic lifting we do recommend a slight pause at the top for maximum results. Good catch 👍
@@GarageStrength Ahhh ok. Thank you for the response
@@822737292 no problem 👍
Should the z press upper body movment be similar to a push press
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it

Probably myofibrillar, but at the end of the day, you need to be at a caloric deficit and it can really contribute if the person is overweight.
Love your content. Can I ask, why do you rate dips over the bench/floor press?
Im not sure. I would have to research
Watching this 2X speed. Interesting eexcerises and yoi speak slow enough for 2X to work and save my time!
What is the height of that flat bench?
why do you prefer z presses ove military presses?
Good video… but big z has said he never did z press. Its a Myth
Sweet
How effective do you think the Z Press would be for trunk control in the shot put in discus?
I’ve used it as an accessory for my throwers before so I think it transfers well
The Telle extension you advise using the ez bar or could I rip these with a straight bar? I like the idea of chains also. Going to try tmrw on an axel bar
You can definitely do a straight bar if that is what you have access to. Hope that helps 👍
Sr shot put workout uplord plz weight traning

SIMPLE : WRESTLERS USUALLY WIN IN A STREET FIGHT. WRESTLING LEVERAGE 90% BEATS STRENGTH.
Standing Cable Pullovers do, what the first exercise tries to do, much better and more efficiently
To each their own 🤷♂️
im not spending a billion dollars on assembling a cable pulley system in my garage

So what about chest? I was thinking chest workouts when I seen this. Haha
