One thing that really helps me when I pull big weight is not looking to far forward or up. Keeping the head in line with the spine lets your traps pull harder and faster. I love the video thanks for sharing!
Thanks, great video as always! Question: For the first exercise, would the whole movement (pause/ pull/slow ecc.) count as one rep? Also, what % would you recommend? This could potentially hammer my back!
Loving the content; as club coach and masters athlete the information is invaluable. I just finished the first week of your master's weightlifting program and am real happy with it. I've been a long time follower of another well established weightlifting coach who uses a lot of percentage based training in our country and I am looking forward to learning more about your autoregulating training methods (got the Parabolic Periodization book in the mail yesterday).
Great pointers @GarageStrength team . I have been plateau stuck on my snatches around 125lb . GREAT GREAT POINTERS. I will def incorporate #3 and #1 into my programming.
I have started doing crossfit for 7 months and one of my difficulties was the olympic lifts so, for the past 3 months, my trainning as been focusing on the foundations of olympic lifting. It as completly change my performance, altough it as been very hard. When I have questions about olympic lifting I always come to the chanel to see If I can lern in here, and I always do :). Keep Up the work, and the way you explain everything is excellent. One question btw, you always talk about reps and series, what about the weight the lifter should use?
Sir I'm struggling in pulling at both snatch and c&j the weight really lifts heavy from the below knee so I thought I could search about this on RUclips and found your video and I think your exercise are really affective I will be start doing those exercises thank you sir
Love this video, thanks for uploading content! Widening knees to clear the bar. I'm guessing the advisory comments about not doing this is subject to the athlete? For example Lydia (along with MANY others) has super wide knees to clear the bar and I'm sure we'd all agree she's not lacking in strength in any department.
Could you do a video on how to strengthen your lower back after surgery? I have some disc degeneration, but I still want to lift free weight. I know some changes will occur but I don't know what ones. Thank you for your time.
Q? Have damaged wrists and connective tissue from motorcycle accident... Any suggestions?? Pulling AGAINST gravity does not improve condition... I have used sleds w ropes, rice bucket bands clubbelss kettle bells Thanks David
Great information as always! A video I'd like to see is you do is test your athletes for fun. For example testing your Oly weightlifting athletes specifically in the Vertical Jump, Broad Jump, Dynamometer grip test, power ball throw, and Isometric Mid-Thigh Pull. I've been looking for Olympic athletes being tested, but theres not much info out there I could find.
That would be really cool! If you're interested our lifter Jake tested his Broad Jump in this video and he beat out an NFL Player! 👉 ruclips.net/video/q7851uL2M8c/видео.html
I've actually thought of these myself and they're really effective in nailing the development of neuroefficiency. Glad to know an point of authority also holds the same rationale!
funny some russian say knees out, chinese weight on the balls of your foot. like many sports there are certain "rules" or principals that should not be broken; but people are linked up different and move different. so "forcing" them some times to move certain ways is not advantageous.
Excellent content. Thank you coach. The face diaper is a bit distracting. Take a look at Columbia School of Medicine latest study on Masks. 5% efficacy IF worn properly. Maybe its just a style statement? Reclaim your freedoms folks before its to late.

Great insight. Thank you 💪
yes works for me too.
Being patient with the 2nd pull. Thinking bar is fixed but floor moves away with long arms, lats engaged.

Thanks for these! I've noticed that the snatch pulls have helped me get stronger in arm wrestling, very helpful!

Coach, what are the exercises that could help to overcome squat plateau?
Not a coach. But the Pause Squat made major gains for my max.
Pause squats for sure bud! Also the bounce, use that bottom bounce to help you keep momentum.
increasement in food and rest.
and keep squating
We have great video for that, you can check out here 👉 ruclips.net/video/7ukRkS090-c/видео.html
At what sort of % are we doing these reps?
Off season heavier 80-90% 3-5 reps
As you approach season less than 70% 3-5 reps
Would you use a heavier weights for the first two exercises like 90 to 100+% or less like 60-80% ?

Something that helped me with my snatches tremendously was wearing a coof mask 😂
