Steak and Butter Gal, any idea how I'd do on carnivore if I just was hospitalized with my first small bowel obstruction from adhesions from previous abdominal surgery?
I was NSNG or keto for the last five years to control my type II with no meds or insulin.
Now apparently fiber/ veggies are not my friend to avoid future obstructions, so I basically have carnivore foods remaining. But I am experiencing constipation, not diarrhea.

11 days in. 59 year old woman. 110 lbs, so no weight to lose. Quit alcohol 6 months ago, and that was easier than this. The diet is a tad difficult, as I lived on huge piles of veggies with olive oil and a small bit of lean meat. Quit cold turkey and went carnivore. Already my many body aches and years long back pain is 99% gone. Did you know that clean towels and flowers and perfume actually smell? I didn't, because for 20 years I have had chronic sinus issues that kept me from smelling ANYTHING because my nose was swollen and non functioning. And my stomach is never swollen anymore after I eat. Ever. Yet, yesterday was Easter, and at the get together with family, I was met with disinterest and glazed over eyes as I spoke of my new venture into a new life and the benefits thus far. They ate homemade pizza and desserts while I ate a plate of ground meat, 2 eggs and butter. I wanted to dive headlong onto that Easter candy, but I refrained. Onward towards health and happiness!

I have been carnivore for almost a decade and keto for almost 14 years. That said, I don't buy the stance that all plants are always toxic to all people in all doses forever. As Dr. Chaffee tells the story, he had a bad reaction (massive depression) from an herb crust on a roast. So, maybe he needs to be that strict. Doesn't mean everyone does. I can't deal with nightshades so I need to stay away from them strictly. Doesn't mean everyone does. People who have severe auto immune disorders like Mikhaila Peterson also need to take it to the max in order to be healthy.
People's bodies are also able to heal to some degree over time. I can now tolerate foods that I wasn't able to a few years ago. It is not a lack of discipline and I am not treating myself to cake. An occasional avocado does not take me down from my optimal level at all and it tastes good and has good fat in it. For some people avocados cause problems. A strict elimination diet let's you find out where your individual problem areas are.
I agree that sugar, alcohol, fake stuff like sweeteners and MSG, and plant babies (grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes) are the most toxic and that everyone is probably better off without them entirely. I really don't think a few berries are "poisonous" to most people now and then. Even wolves eat berries. Nobody tries to revoke their carnivore cards for that.

    • @pheenobarbidoll2016

Some plants need to be eaten (or have their fruit/seeds/etc) eaten because that's how they propagate. If animals didn't eat them, they couldn't spread. Animals eat the fruit, and poop the seeds out. Now, most of the fruits we have available are worthless nutrient wise because we bred for size and taste not nutrient density, but if you look, you can find what you need. Humans have been hunter/gatherers since the beginning. We gathered plants. I think we were better off before we domesticated those plants.

The back of her neck and upper back were red and … it just looked very painful. When she began carnivore and started eating butter and eggs, her body recognized how depleted she was, and she ate a ton of butter and eggs for 6 months (I’m sure she ate other animal foods, just… she said her body just needed the butter and eggs. She advocates listening to your body and eating till full. It can change. Just be flexible and adapt.).
She also mentioned that for her, having a bit if cold or frozen butter actually removes any sugar cravings she may get.
She has beautiful skin. When I saw her psoriasis photo, I was pretty amazed at the transformation through carnivore.

What a great interview! Between your channel, Dr. Berry, Dr. Baker, Neisha Berry, Dr. Boz, Dr. Cywes and a few others I’ve been learning and living carnivore for just over 2 years. I was very obese, had horrible skin, chronic migraines and dismenorrea, all greatly improved and 75 lbs down from where I started. I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 15 years ago. Just recently I was taken off of Biologics because my rheumatologist couldn’t argue with my labs. My inflammation was low enough and controlled enough that that toxic medication was not something I qualified for anymore and my labs were done 6 weeks after I had taken my last dose, so there was no way he could attribute my improvement to the drug. I’m still on one toxic medication and a couple of over the counter pain meds, but carnivore has helped me heal so much. I’m so grateful for channel’s like yours and interviews like this. I unintentionally lost a very extreme amount of weight in a short period of time.. end stage veganism. Nearly died. Intuitively ate carnivore and have started the healing. It’s been a few months and some days are better than others, but eating carnivore is no doubt what has saved my life. Although not ideal long term, in a situation like mine supplements and digestive aids can help.
Anyway the social thing is it... my dad just naturally eats 90% carnivore. My mom thinks that I’m insane and have an eating disorder and keeps trying to force me to eat “regular” food and go to an eating disorder clinic where I know they will stuff me with poison 🤢
The real eating disorder was 10 years vegan... it’s an epidemic that destroys your brain. Yes it is that bad. Please end the vegan nonsense. Don’t end up like me.. it cost me my sanity, relationships, life savings, and nearly my life. Recovery is hard but eggs and bacon is the only way out. ✊🏼

They don't even sell plant products whatsoever, so I naturally transitioned to a carnivore diet. Biggest thing I noticed is my craving for any kind of carbohydrate completely disappeared, and mind you I used to be the biggest sugar addict you've ever seen. I even went and bought some grapes, and couldn't even finish them, they just weren't that satisfying anymore. Some ground beef, a couple bites of raw cheese, some raw liver and warm bone broth is incredibly satisfying and satiating, it's hard to imagine going back to anything else.

As in the UK it costs on average £25 [about $30] for ONE so you can ONLY have a nice T-Bone as an occasional treat unless you've won the lottery! Until then yes, my 'treats' were in reality anything but - cookies or a piece of cake etc.

Very interesting and inspiring info. Thank you for sharing. I'll dive more into Dr. Chaffeee's work. In the meantime I have a question about carnivore and endurance sports. I'm in my sixties and doing endurance sports virtually all my life. Once(in the eighties) the credo was; fill up the tank with carbs as the best fuel.
Those days I also followed this concept for marathon running and triathlon. But it came at a price. Pre-diabetic, gout, allergies, bad skin etc. Then the change came. More Paleo, Keto. So cut on the carbs, but still a lot of plants. Cutting the carbs to a pretty low percentage made these symptoms decrease a lot. Next was Paul Saladino's work. So more animal food, and less plants and still very low carb. How do you see animal fats and proteïns as the fuel for endurance sports. Nowadays it's mainly cycling. Rides up till 2-5hrs. 3 to 4 times weekly. I like to hear your thoughts about this in general and also about the fuel during the excersize.

The guy is a dangerous joke, who has to hide his comments because he can't address his dangerous pseudo-science recommendations to his own fans
You've got him suggesting/telling parents to stop buying healthy vegetables that their families are thriving on.
You've got him recommending high fat carnivore style fad diets for people who have just had a heart attack lol
I mean any typical excessively high saturated fat all meat carnivore fad diet meal is likely going to acutely impair endothelial function. These are not heart healthy fat rich optimized diets.
No wonder he cannot reply to and has to hide his comments.
This is the same dangerous nonsense we get from these vegan fad diet promoters, recklessly telling parents to remove all animal foods/meat from their families diet

I’ve been doing keto for almost 5 years I totally turned my health around, it was absolutely amazing for me. We had a surprise pregnancy 2 years in (on the pill 😂) after losing 95 pounds and feeling so good. I continued to eat keto the entire time. I breastfed for until she was 2. She is now 2.5 and ive Still been eating the same way, but I’m still holding onto 25 pounds from pregnancy! Today is day 2 on carnivore, hoping to see some positive changes!! I’m still confused as to why keto stopped working for me but this is making a lot of sense! I’ve also noticed my nose has been dripping constantly the past few weeks, it’s clear but it seems never ending so really hoping carnivore stops that as well 🤞Wish me luck!!!

This video with you Bella and Dr. Chaffee has taught me more about plants than I was understanding. This was an eye opener. No I feel I can take the 1st step to pure Carnivore. Thank you both so so so much. You both have saved my life.

You need to believe it plants don’t like to be eaten, so that’s their protection against bugs.
If you have or want to guard against cancer all you have to eat is two spoons of either broccoli (or some other cruciferous) sprouts or mini greens. They will search out the cancer and devour it and that’s a good thing.

About mental clarity for musicians with a meat diet I do have an experience to share. I was on it for three months and sat down to play "The Butterfly" after not playing for awhile on Penny Whistle. Well, the thought that you have is "this won't go too well at first.". I was shocked though when I played it very fast as it is a very fast Irish tune, and played it as perfectly as I really think it could be played........it was just crazy surreal!!!!!! I had never even thought about mental clarity!

It's great to hear from a strict carnivore. Alot of valuable insight being provided here, you're doing fantastic work! I've been eating ground beef no additives, preservatives or artificial ingredients everyday for about a year now feeling great. GREAT interview, people need to hear this.

My daughters 21st bday was saturday, so of course there was a big ass chocolate cake etc....SO, before it came out, I had sliced up some fresh organic strawberries and surrounded the cake with those - so once everyone had a slice and berries - I put 3 strawberries on my plate and had those instead of the cake. Not a single person noticed or said anything.
There are ways around all the celebrations...just be you. Live for you, not others.

Thanks so much for sharing this interview, you are an excellent hostess and actually allow your guests to tell their story. I greatly appreciate your abilities. I'm fairly new to the carnivore lifestyle and looking forward to jumping in. I looked up Drs videos on dry brining the beef and thought it was a good idea until I remembered that I have problems with histamine intolerance and brining would be an absolute no-no for me. Strictly fresh and/or frozen... and I just watched your video on air frying a steak from frozen... WOW, I'm really hungry right now and I'm going to get a steak and out of the freezer and give it a go. 👏👍🎶🌹 Thanks so much for all you do from a great grammie in Michigan ❣️

Wow excellent interview, I highly agree with both. I have dropped in and out of carnivore three times in the last 5-6years. I started keto 7 years ago and saw benefit then about a year later found some of the early carnivore videos, Dr Baker, Dr Berry, and Dr Saladino we’re all fairly new carnivores. I am just now going back to a carnivore lifestyle as best I can being on the road with my wife in a semi. I think I’ve followed you for 2-3 years. Gentle transitions can be done and I have kinda paid attention each time to check the effects of the diet verses standard. I can say this this longest carnivore spell was 1.5 years and one night I decided I was going to eat pizza with my kids, so I did a whole pizza. It wasn’t good tasted like someone sprinkled sugar everywhere and three hours later I was in the yard vomiting it all up. The following two days was the worst ever extreme joint pain, nausea, diarrhea that had razors in it (grain), horrible fatigue, headaches, dizziness, etc. So you would think I said “not doing that again” but no I instead said “heck I already rode it out so bout as well stay a bit see how it works. Got tons of that extra school lunches they’re sending out for summer needs eating anyway.” Well after 1.5 years off I’m going back to carnivore I was an expert at it that still failed if you do this work back into it and keep going as I can tell you it happens but this diet works. Since doing this three times I can give commonalities that the SAD diet or plants in general cause. 1)joint swelling and pain 2)brain fog and headaches 3)anxiety depression 4)bloating, 5)weight gain 6)lethargy 7)insulin issues, 8)vision trouble, 9)muscle loss 10)hormonal imbalances 11)bone and teeth weakening 12)extreme irritability of course that is the main ones I have tracked as I entered the diet and left. These disappear or improve drastically on carnivore and they come back viciously then settle into continued state on SADor any plant based diet. No matter how long I’ve tried the other diets to see these symptoms stay. I am through experimenting this is the best WOE. Thanks for bringing me back Steak and Butter Girl.
