@@davidplumb2604 bro I got that feel too!! they have some combat mods you could try out in SSE, sadly nothing with AI however. Speaking of which I STRONGLY advise AGAINST getting CGO (Combat Gameplay Overhaul), it's already broken enough in Skyrim but in enderal it messes with AI pathing and scripting. Although you could try Engarde, heard it's strange at first but very rewarding to get the hang of!
If you wait long enough, the end of the day does trigger a violation of the golden rule. So there is a time limit and it's specifically there to make one of the achievements harder. To get the cannon ending in as few loops as possible.
just finally finished this game and came back to see this. now with my top three favorite ganes being Majoras Mask, Outer Wilds, and now Forgotten City it's safe to say i have a thing for time loops
I have never even heard of this game before but it looks awesome by the way you describe it. I literally just bought the game on steam before your review of it was even over lol. I can't wait to play it, hopefully I'll have time tomorrow.
Alright, I'm convinced (halfway through the video, stopping here for now). I remember looking at this game on my wishlist, and basically having completely forgotten why I wanted it - and then subsequently entirely forgot about it. But this is an excellent reminder as to why I wanted to pick it up, thank you :) I hope you have a nice day
I'm drunk right now, but I swear if another video opens with captions automatically enabled on my phone-- I will start a fucking riot. Someone help a drunk chick. Please.
Thank you so much Chris, I had seen this game pop out here and there but never bothered to look at what it was. Watched your video about it because I like your content and now that I know it's a remake of the Skyrim mod that I loved so much a few years ago imma buy it as soon as I get my salary. I hadn't have realized it was THIS forgotten city until now.
I feel like this game i slowly growing in popularity. I hadn't heard anything on this game a week ago, and now I've seen 3 reviews, one person streaming it, 2 people talking about it in their stream, and on steams front-page. So I think it's growing.
I just finished playing The Forgotten City. Best game I've played this year so far. If anyone could please suggest me any that are in a similar vein, I'd appreciate it. Just wanted to comment and let you know that I subscribed because of this video, after one of my loops back! 🙃
I think a lot of people described this by saying "it started out as a Skyrim mod!" thinking that's a compliment...But a lot of other people took that to be a negative and dismissed it. That might explain why it hasn't gotten as much attention as many think it deserves. Excellent review/overview as always!
Thats awesome, cuz im still playing skyrim till today, and have just recently installed the forgotten city mod. Havent started the quest yet, but Ive got all sorts of shenanigans going on in my modded game, that I might not get there for a while.
Thanks for the new content Chris! I'm thinking that maybe because it's a mod game people feel like they are not getting a "new game" for their money, as to why the game is being more dismissed that it should? Maybe specially if they played a whole lot of Skyrim already?
Just started this game a week or two ago and put it down after about an hour.. couldn't really get into it. Watched this review and proceeded to restart (and finish) it tonight. Great game
I think it can come off as a very shallow way to explain or rationalize the whole 'play, die, repeat' nature of most video games. But if it actually serves a story well, it's fine, IMO.
Other reviews seems to indicate the puzzle hints being too "in your face" a la "use the bow" 5 seconds after getting into the room. What did you think about that?
Completed in one almost continuous sitting, very gripping story! I also instantly understood the problematic blackmail you were stuck with because i spend a while running around having everything i need as well. Also liked that you can actually figure stuff out before its spelled out, i prefer this to twists that come out of nowhere and make no sence.

2019/2020: Battle Royales
2021: Timeloop games??
"There is a good story in Skyrim after all, you just have to mod it in." Very nice.
Chris Davis can you PLEASE do a "don't forget about" for ENDERAL it's a phenomenal mod, I HIGHLY endorse it it's the only Skyrim competitor our there
true. so good!

This is a testament to how well a passion-driven project can be realized. Who knew something like it would come from a Skyrim modder.

Wooooo a new Chris Davis video! Tonight's entertainment is settled.

I'll never forget this beautiful perfection of a game.
Adding this to the list of timeloop games I need to check out. Thanks for the wonderful video!
What is it with small Australian development teams creating masterpieces.
First Hollow Knight, now this...

U convinced me to buy this masterpiece. Thank you. Devs and everyone involved deserve every single cent they earn from this game
Agreed! My favorite game that I was sleeping on so far this year!
I'd love to see you skewer 12 Minutes. It tries to succeed with a Hollywood cast, but fails due to a Hollywood script.
You were a lawyer? How long have you been practicing?
Right? I'm always here for Chris Davis lore.
Oh my god I got a “no views” notification
Thanks man! Super stoked to see this reciew
I honestly thought you are going to review the mod. Didn't know that there is a whole new game now...

I never played Skyrim and not going to, but I love the Forgotten City. Such a beautiful game and story.
chris - pleaseeeee check out pathfinder - wrath of the righteous.. it is absolutely glorious gaming.

One of the best Skyrim mods along with breasts physics.
Thanks for the vid

picked it up on your recommendation and really enjoyed it, worth the £15 for sure!
Well I’m sold in getting the game exactly at 3:53. Thanks for making this video!
This video has done a wonderful job of convincing me to play The Outer Wilds

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
thank you so much for this video. I never heard of this game (or the mod), and I just finished it and loved it.
I will check it, thanks for the recommendation.
3:34 1650 steam reviews for game of this scope is not a lot.
agree with your conclusion, thank you for the video
I never tried the Outer Wilds because the time limit sounds so stressful to me.
I tried to like this game but it did nothing but bore me to tears.
I've started to come to terms with the fact that I hate time-loop mechanics in games. I think you might have won me over for this one, though.
I think it can come off as a very shallow way to explain or rationalize the whole 'play, die, repeat' nature of most video games. But if it actually serves a story well, it's fine, IMO.
This one has an incredibly generous time loop time, and even a save\load feature
Other reviews seems to indicate the puzzle hints being too "in your face" a la "use the bow" 5 seconds after getting into the room. What did you think about that?
There is an option to turn off hints
Always awesome to see your stuff man! Love the new motion graphics
Seeing such a positive review from you (just watched the intro) makes me want to play the game, so brb after i completed it.

glad to see more vids on this, the game was crazy good
Very nice. Hope in the future you can keep the channel up!
I love your channel so much
Mr clean making a cameo at 00:50
I'm in.
No. Just no. Say what you want about Skyrim storyline, but is so much better than this poor man's Prisoner with time travel gimick. :)
Nothing more historically accurate than black Roman aristocrats. 😂 Looks fun as hell though.
While rare, it's not entirely impossible.
@@Nighttemplar559 You aren't wrong.
