    Been a huge fan of your channel since finding it about 9 months ago. You have really helped in my launch of stacking. You are probably the most realistic, informed, truthful and inspiring You Tubers out there. Thank You! I recently bought a 1 oz gold Maple and could not find the direct fit capsule H-30. Nearly went crazy and finally settled on the H capsule with the black foam ring.

    Your right about the “easier to sell 20 of 1 thing that 20 different things”! Most of my stack is currently silver and im over the boxes too! I just want everything in tubes and now im stuck with sets i have no desire to finish and realize id be better off with 2-3 gold coins than stacks of unwanted series... oh well ill take a lil hit i guess but lesson learned keeping it simple is worth its weight in gold

      I agree with you 100%. I mostly go for full tubes of an item, such as silver Maples, Britannia, and Sunshine mint. If I need to sell or trade it would be by the tube. 10 oz bars I only stack two different manufacturers, Sunshine and RCM. Keep it simple and condensed. Don't need a bunch of boxes with COA taking up space.

      @@DS-tt9vz yeah for silver im only doing type 1 eagles libertads and %90. tubes and dansco albums only moving forward, cant wait to sell my misfits and pick up acouple 3 1/4 gold pieces. In regards to gold my preference is Britannias eagles and pesos but im not turning down any deal on gold

    2is1 has become one of my favorite RUclips channels regarding precious metals. I think that what I like about these videos is that they are smart, they are simple yet informative, they don’t have a lot of hype. The speaker has an interesting and compelling voice. I sense sincerity and honesty. The videos have a subtle and, I believe, unintentional humor to them. It’s always a good sign when you connect with a channel and you get the feeling of “I’d like to have a beer with that guy”. Anyway, that’s my review, for what it’s worth.

    Ahhhhhh, all that beautiful Gold. It’s like a stack of chocolate bars, just waiting to be gobbled up. One of these days, you gotta do a “Mountain of Gold” video, and show how you built it one brick at a time. Most of us aspire to be able to stack like you do, but at a much slower pace (financially). Keep up the great work, and remember to always show your Gold…I can’t get enough of it.

All that felt and leather and paper can be sealed airtight case and pulled out later in more relaxed situation and have that lovely gold squirreled away in a smaller dimension safe place. In case you weren’t aware (edit: you are, thought those CMLs were in foam ring capsules for some reason), 1oz CMLs should fit into Air-Tite T-30 direct fit capsules. It’s not perfectly snug (T-30s are actually 30.6mm to accommodate half dollars) but you can fill a tube, albeit a skinnier one with those. I suppose you’d really want an “H-30” so you can have the same outer dimensions as the H-32s but I doubt they’ll ever exist unless they made a special gold CML capsule like they did for the silver CMLs.
    There’s also those Lighthouse/Leuchtturm capsules, but I find them to be kinda cheap feeling.

    If you want all the 1 ounce gold coins in the same size capsules, go for Airtite H size with black rings to accommodate the different diametres from 22mm to 32mm or even 16mm. They really pop with the black frames. Same for the smaller gold coins, just use a smaller T capsule, which accommodates coin sizes from 20 to 25mm.

    • @2is1gold
      @2is1gold  3 года назад

      I did that until last year. I prefer the direct fit because you can see so much more of the coin. It surprises me that Air-Tite doesn’t at least have an H-30 option.

      I guess my approach is, if I know the edge is OK, I am happy not to see it. The advantage of the rings, is they hold the coin snugly, so there is never any rattle, sideways or up and down, which eliminates any possible damage over time.

    I really appreciate your knowledge, coming from a nub it has really helped me out.
    Question, I followed your advice and contacted a local coin dealer here in the states. They suggested I purchase a handful of 1oz Kangaroos, rather than the American Eagles because the US mint is slowing production and purposefully keeping the premium slightly higher, this would save me roughly $100 a coin.
    Does this sound right, and what's your opinion on the Kangaroos over the AE?

    • @2is1gold
      @2is1gold  3 года назад +1

      I'd guess they have a bunch of them available. That's definitely a good savings and the Perth Mint is great, but I still prefer a few other coins to Kangaroos, primarily for resale reasons. If that shop is buying them in the first place, though, they will buy them back. You won't be unhappy with them. A handful might be pushing it, though. I wouldn't buy a bunch of them before getting a hold of some local options. Good luck!

      I keep most of my Eagles in mint tubes, but I have a few that I keep around for videos that I put in capsules because I'm monkeying with them at least once a week. That's why the pocket knives are always around. Thanks for the note!

    So if I am just starting to get into gold, would saving up enough Silver/cash to swap/buy a half/1oz gold coin be more cost effective than stacking 1/10th ounce gold coins?

    • @_Hound_
      @_Hound_ 3 года назад

      None of this is advice, but I don't see the logic in trading fractional for full size. All the premium paid goes down the drain, and fractional is more desirable. The smaller, the better for versatility. The only practical reason I'd get full ounce coins is because of the lower premium percentage. I've only sold to a coin shop that buys everything, but I've heard that in a shtf scenario, it would be much easier to trade a 1/10 oz coin for essentials, rather than trying to cut pieces off of a 1 oz coin, if that makes sense.

    • @2is1gold
      @2is1gold  3 года назад +1

      Yes, you’d save a lot on premium on the 1/2 oz coin. If you’re buying silver in the interim, though, you’d lose a lot on premium, so that’s a big variable.
