I love how some of these require more effort than just hunting for one
Yeah, but at least they are guaranteed, you could hunt for a shiny but never get it because you have horrible luck
This is especially true for the newer games, shiny hunting has become SIGNIFICANTLY easier recently lol
I've done two hunts that were over 100 hours, one was 200 (neither of which i were phasable). Compared to that, seeing every gen 5 Pokemon for shiny Haxorous (which is the hardest guaranteed shiny) would actually be much quicker provided you completed the game.

Don’t forget in Sun and Moon in the Poni Village Pokémon Center,the tourist on the left always has a shiny Exeggcute to battle to explain shiny Pokémon
You can't get it though, you only get a bunch of nuggets for beating him in battle
@@Transgerine That's true, but it's still a neat inclusion since NPCs with shiny Pokemon are almost as rare as wild shinies themselves. In Fire Red and Leaf Green, there's three trainers in Trainer Tower I'm aware of that have shinies--one has a Meowth, another has an Espeon, and lastly, one has a Seaking.

And recently in the Scarlet and Violet DLC, you can acquire a Shiny Munchlax if you complete that berry collection mini-game on the hardest difficulty with the highest score.
Then in the second part of the DLC, Cyrano will trade you a shiny Blitzle.

The Pokémon team should do that more often. It actually provokes players to shiny hunt early on, which brings up play time.
I remember in my Pokémon Diamond playthrough, I was just training up one of my Pokémon to be a higher level and used a Route above Solaceon Town to get Chansey encounters. After a while, I encountered a Shiny Ponyta. When playing through Legends Arceus, and seeing the Shiny Ponyta as a mission, I got tears… maybe that’s the ancestor to the one during my playthrough of Diamond way back then… so heartwarming and maybe it wasn’t intentional but loved that personal call back to my childhood…

You don't need to complete the Pokedex to get the shiny haxours, you just need to see all Pokemon in the Unova dex for those games
Funny thing is, i found a Shiny Bidoof in Legends Arceus just before i got that Ponyta quest.

The Haxorus isn't for completing the dex, it's just for seeing every Pokémon in the regional dex
It's kind of sad that there are so few that they could fit in a short, even including instructions on how to obtain them.

In the indigo disk, you get a guaranteed Shiny Blitzle when you beat Cyrano in a secret trade.

Hope they do more event like these, though I also don't mind if they don't add it as well. If there are no guaranteed shiny in-game event, then it is what it is.
Me who used to be depressed that his brother deleted his Shiny Ponyta then felt pride years later finding another one full odds. It was all for nothing.
I feel you bro. When we were in college, my friend deleted my shiny Crobat I'd caught in Sapphire as a kid (when it was a Zubat). I'd had that thing on my team for literally a decade, through multiple generations, and one day he just "borrowed" my copy of HeartGold and erased my 400+ hour save file.
More recently, I caught a shiny Ponyta while playing USUM, and I was really stoked about it until I saw this video and learned that shiny Ponyta/Rapidash is nothing special anymore.
The Teal Mask DLC added a guaranteed Shiny Munchlax that can be obtained by beating the Ogre Oustin minigame in Hard difficulty for the first time
Then gets ass handed to you by the alpha rapidash 😂
Meanwhile me, playing an old Pokémon romhack called Pokémon Ultra Violet and seeing a shiny just before getting Pokéballs, and then the second I get them the same shiny returns, and that same shiny ends up being one of my mvps-

In Kitakami if you finish every Ogre Oustin mini game, you get a Shiny Munchlax
In Blue Berry Academy, if you make the director of the school a mentor and do all his missions, you get a Shiny Blitzle.
Wisteria the shiny rapidash helped me get through Kamado's fight.
Just to clarify
You just need to SEE every pokemon in Black 2 and White 2 to get shiny Haxorus
Fun fact: the unova terrarium you go to during the second phase dlc in scarlet and violet was built over the nature preserve where you encounter the shiny haxorus, dont beleive me? Look at the map comparisons people have made. This signifies that a lot of time has passed since gen 5 and gen 9 as the terrarium didnt exist back then.
You don’t need to complete the Unova Pokédex to go to the nature preserve. You need to register every Unova mon as seen, not necessarily obtained.
We have two more guaranteed Shinies: Munchlax if you get the high score in Ogre Oustin’ and Blitzle when you trade with Cyrano after defeating him and trading with 10 other coaches

Update: there's a guaranteed shiny Munchlax in Scarlet/Violet's DLC The Teal Mask that you receive upon breaking the record for the Ogre Bust minigame

Funny enough, it was right after (or before, can't remember clearly) the Ponyta quest that I got my first full odds shiny. It was a Wurmple, and now I use a Dustox on my main team.

Side note: Gible and Dratini im BW2 are versiom exclusive, as you'll always get 1 for beating either the treehollow or tower, specifically its Black 2 Gible and White 2 Dratini, also its the only Gible you can get in BW2, meaning its a versiom exclusive in multiple ways. This matters because the key system in BW2 allows for Black 2 players to play the White Treehollow and vice versa for White 2 and Black 2, which js important since the Black Tower has a focus on rich old people with tons of cash, and White 2 has Pokemon Breeders with the Chansey line, which is really useful if youre trying to complete the National dex like i did. You unlock the ability to trade that area's key after completing Level 5 of 10, and also the NPC shops have different items for sale depending on which of the 2 Unova's Challenge you're using. So if you play into the post game a lot in BW2, try having all the keys, because it'll make things a lot better for prepping stuff up
Also Haxourus and the Nature Preserve only require you to see all non-mythical Pokemon, (so 297/301 since Victini is 000 in the Unova Dex.).
The Scarlet and Violet DLC also have two garanteed shinies. One Munchlax for Teal Mask and one Blitzle for Indigo Disk. But they need a lot of effort to get, to be honest.
They nailed the fire of some fire type Pokemon in legends arkoos so ponyta looks awesome .
I really appreciate that the game that introduced the concept of shiny Pokémon also has a guaranteed one. It subtly teaches the player that it's possible to get a different coloured Pokémon
There are two in scarlet and violet that I know of too. One for completing the hardest ogre ousting difficulty, and one for inviting every special coach to blueberry academy and then beating the secret boss.

Since this is now a bit outdated: in ev you get 2 garunteed shinies from the dlc. For the teal make if you complete the ogre oustin mini game on hard you get a shiny munchlax. And for the indigo disk if you beat the secret challenger you get a shiny blitzle
as of the indigo disk there's also the ogre ousting munchlax and blitzle you get from beating cyrano
I like these little gifts! It'd be nice to have a guaranteed shiny in every game that shinylocks your starters or legendarys.
Guaranteed Shinys are like the version exclusive Legendary Pokemon. They're nice, but not as nice as a wild Shiny!
I have rules for myself regarding the guaranteed shinies. I don't use them on my team at all, ever. The ponyta made me sad, but I boxed it immediatly, and then just a day later, I found an actual shiny ponyta which I used on my team
I would’ve kept using the shiny ponyta if shiny rapidash had the same color scheme (the blue flames look awesome)
TIL shiny Rapidash doesn't have the same color scheme. What a shame. Guess I won't be evolving the shiny Ponyta I recently caught in Ultra Sun.

Also the shiny Munchlax in Teal Mask, but I feel like it's just easier to hunt for one in an outbreak in eithwr Kitakami or Legends Arceus. At least that doesn't require you to have 3 friends nearby.

Yeah, and it's super exciting when you actually do find them legitimately especially when it's 2 less than 30 minutes apart when you just start your Scarlet playthrough. I literally had a Sinh Female Lechonk show up in the catch tutorial on Poco Path and then less than 30 minutes later found a shiny male Lechonk just east of the bridge leading to Los Platos headed towards the ruins and legendary shrine.

Honorable mention: shiny legendaries from Pokémon go, it isn’t a guaranteed shiny but if you are lucky enough to get one, it is always a guaranteed catch
Currently playing through PLA for the first time and named the shiny Ponyta Dabi. Immediately after I accidentally find a shiny Golbat (a pretty good shiny) and catch it replacing my non-shiny one
Funny story: before I enabled the quest “peculiar ponyta” I found and caught a shiny alpha rapidash. So thats FUN
im pretty sure that for black 2 and white 2 you don't need to complete the unova dex, you just have to see all of them
The shiny Ponyta is my favorite especially in Legends artstyle. Such pretty blue flames.
I like the concept of giving free shiny, but, as in Black and White, i think it should stick as a final gift after completing a difficult quest, and not just an easy quest you can do in early game or in the storyline... Ok we give you a shiny, but you will have to own it.
And now there's actually another guaranteed Shiny Pokémon. By completingvthe Koraidon and Miraidon Riding minigame on every difficulty level in the Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet you will unlock an extra difficulty level that's the most challenging level. After beating the necessary score needed before the Best Time limit upon completion you will be gifted a Shiny Munchlax. What's more is that I believe it will always have good or maxed out Evs and Ivs in all stats making it perfect for competitive ranked battles, ready to use right away.
Some how I caught 2 shinys in legends Arceus on the span of 2 minutes without a shiny charm MIDGAME!
Story time: I Started a new file of Pokémon sword and I was on my way to the lab and I was talking about how it kinda sucks that you cant see if the Pokémon is shiny in the overworld but then i accidentally ran INTO A SHINY WOOLOO THE FIRST OFFICIAL POKEMON ENCOUNTER IN THE GAME!

I wish I could get a guaranteed shiny Male Electrike. The reason why I’d want it to be male is because I’d name it after my dog Finn. I put off the hunt for a couple weeks, to shiny hunt Thundurus, and then I played shield today, and actually got a shiny Electrike in less than 15 encounters. Unfortunately, the coin flip was wrong, and it was female. I’ve basically gone through around 1.2k encounters, plus a random shiny budew for now, but yeah, I really wish I could get it soon.
Weighted coin flip technically, Sword and Shield muddled gender ratios so now almost every Pokémon that had a 50/50 is now 50.2% male to 49.8% female. Electrike is one of those cases. You actually failed a coin flip that was weighted in your favor buddy. I'm sorry.

Just a heads up. You need to *catch* a Ponyta before you can initiate the quest. Found this out the hard way lol.
I've always found mine randomly, except for 2 of them, being Torchic and Litwick.
Another way is to surprise trade in sword, 90% chance of shiny legendary with max IVs, pokerus, masterball, Max EVs, etc (its hacked obv)

In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, you can technically get all three shinies, but you have to do the IR stuff with the Unova Link feature

I actually found a shiny Shinx on my third or so day of playing, hadn't even beat Kleavor yet. Taiga is now a Shiny Luxray.

Guaranteed shinies are dope but there’s nothing like coming across one randomly without hunting
I picked the fire starter in legends arkoos, so i couldn't use the shiny ponyta on my team due to tipe overlap
type overlap doesnt matter at all unless the run is some sort of hardcore/soul-link nuzlocke, which would be near impossible in legends arkoos considering... well, everything. u would need new rules because of all the new mechanics, not to mention how hard it would be even if the rules were the same as in the other games.

Me who used a normal Rapidash in my playthrough and only found out about the Shiny one after beating Volo. Honestly I probably wouldn't have used it even if I did know about it because if I were to use a Shiny on a playthrough I would've rather spent the time for one or got lucky from a random encounter instead of just having one effectively handed to me.
I used both the Gyarados and Ponyta on my first playthrough of SoulSilver and PL:A respectively
The black 2 white 2 shinies are very hard to get truthfully
it took me 7 minutes after i got my pokemon violet game and i ofcourse got it ready then it took me 7-10 minutes before i saw a shiny wiglett which took me 30 MINUTES TO CATCH it was really a pain but now i got a fuecoco and shiny wiglett :)
I appreciate these guaranteed shinies since I've never found one. I have some from events though. I think Zygarde is the coolest one I have cause it looks cool and was also shiny locked at the time I believe, making the event the only way to get one.
The Shiny Zeraora (from a raid-related event) also looks really cool, especially Dynamaxed.
I found a wild shiny swablu in scarlet. Gonna transfer it into Z-A when it gets Pokemon home access

Though making more guaranteed shinies can actually make them seem less rare, i would love it if trainers had guaranteed shinies on their team, kinda like some in the anime/manga
Imagine a game where you choose your starter but their still at the egg state, and while you have a chance to get a shiny starter your rival would get a guaranteed shiny starter to give their team more personality

There is a trainer in sun and moon who has a shiny exeggute and he will give you a nugget after beating him.
Some postgame trainer in firered and leafgreen has a shiny espeon (for no reason at all)

Mass outbreaks with Shiny charm in PLA is pretty much guaranteed
@@Polska_EditsI don't even have the charm and I wound up gettin 4 shinies in one massive mass outbreak session like last week, I almost don't count shinies I get in Arceus because of how nonsensically easy it is to get them.
It’s cool how SV DLC added another two guaranteed shiny, albeit one requires multiplayer (Ogre Jousting) and the other is super postgame (BB League Coaches)
