That old clip of Glen standing next to Phil Baugh and they were exchanging licks and playing side by side. Phil played with my husband and they stayed good friends. Phil stayed with us when he came to Oklahoma City to visit and we stayed with him when we went to Nashville. Sure miss him. Glen was so good too and was a session man out in CA where my husband lived too. Musicians form friendships for life, good friends that leave a void when gone. ❤
He was NOT underrated....Watch his old interviews on Larry King....he played with everyone and everyone was his friend. From Country to Rock.....many generations too.🤗..
michael...I agree he is not seen and played always as the giany musical artist and excellent entertainer he was...from such a young time...he is my all time favorite artist although I love many other songs of various Country & the softer Rock artists as when it (Rock) came on scene in the '50's. . but I hope there is a huge, many year blast of the work and greatnesss of this man. He was versatile and sang a song that he liked, so he is basically the newer Country type maybe like Waylon began, but he also loved the great songs as MacArthur Park and various instrumental pieces. I see him as doing Pop, softer Rock (Bye Bye Love, It's only Make Believe by Conway Twitty) and a good set of the Country sound. He sang what he saw great in lyrics and sound. One does not have to fit neatly and narrowly into "that category," such as Country or even Rock only... it may be Rock, as Elvis, singing some favorite Country ballads, etc. with a little mix in there. Glen, Bobby Bare, Waylon with several others that are in that duo type of fine Country and Good Rock that I like the most. Elvis was great, espcially from his 1968 TV Special to 1974 or the drugs was in control. I am 76.
I am astounded that as of 9.17.2017 there are 12 idiots (thumbs down) that don't see the greatness and amazing talent exposed in this video....amazing talent and video compilation! Thank you
Watching this during Covid19 quarantine and a huge Protest March in Philadelphia......where I live! What a welcome relief! Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
Josh Reeves, thank you so very much for this lovely homage to Glen. May Glen sing with the angels. He will never truly die because of the music he left behind.
I just discovered this 2015 mini-doc...thanks so much! Glen Campbell had an ear and a passion for music and shared his talent with us for many decades. He went out on top and he is greatly missed.
thanks brought back great personal memories and GC memories too!!! I was just a kid and knew he put out great songs but didn't understand and appreciate the talent and the man like I do these over 50 years later. Thanks for the rare footage and getting so much the many segments the "special" BIO's did NOT!
Josh Reeves thank you for doing this guitar compilation to show what a great skill Glenn had. He was one of the best I have come across. His show made me want to learn to play.
Thanks Mr. Reeves for posting this. Been a Glen Campbell fan since meeting him on vacation in 1961. He's my all-time favorite. A great performer and supper nice man. Roger C. San Diego ......
He was the American Beatle. Even the Beatles had nothing on Glen. The Great Glen Campbell is right, and how great and humble he was. He set the standard, always a cut above excellent right up to his final song. He never lost his voice (like McCartney). His pitch was perfect even at 75! His last full album, Ghost On The Canvas" was absolutely outstanding. God bless you Glen. You may notmiss me, but Im sure gonna miss you!
Wow.. As a CHILD.. Glenn was a face.. As an ADULT.. I remember sitting on the bus.. Longing to know this SONG!!! Accustic meets Sympathy.. Absoultly AMAZING..
Glen was absolutely one of the best if not the best player in American history. I ask the younger people about Glen and they have no idea who I’m talking about. Eddie Van Halen was asking to get lessons from Glen. Alice Cooper was his best friend. Glen I grew up on your music. Driving with my aunt and uncle through the foggy mountains of PA with Glen on the stereo. God I miss that. It was the very early 70’s. Makes me tear up. Stopping in the little bars and sitting listening to Glen in the bar thinking I was big stuff… funny
Thanks so much to whomever created this fantastic tribute & to Josh Reeves for posting it. Back in the late '60's, Glen became my guitar hero and inspired me to develop my talents on the guitar. He is one of the all-time great artists & deserves all the respect & tributes. God truly blessed this man with abundant talent & our prayers are for peace & happiness in his final days.
+m2xvdXfs You're quite welcome and I'm also the one that made it. I painstakingly remastered the audio and video to a quality not available anywhere else. My dad was a roadie for Glen once in the 80's and I got to see him and meet him in Branson in the early 90's so he's been a huge part of my life. I have not seen any other documentaries that focus on his guitar playing and pre mega fame days so I made my own, glad you enjoyed it.
Back in the late '60's, there were only a couple guitar method books at the local music store and no VCR-DVDs-RUclips & TAB books like we have today. I used to ride my bicycle down to the local music store and hangout hoping that one of the local garage band guitarists would come in to buy some strings and show off a few licks, so I could hurry home and try to play what I had just seen. So when the Goodtime Hour premiered, that was really the first time to really get to see someone improvise guitar solo's like Glen & Jerry Reed. Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed & Glen, in my opinion, were the best all-around players of all time. I did get to see Glen live once at one of the local casinos in the '90's and got to meet and play for Chet before he took ill. I have the "I'll Be Me" DVD about his Alzheimer's condition and it brings me to tears every time I watch it. Unfortunately, I am at the age where I am starting to have memory issues too!!!!. Thanks again for creating this awesome tribute focusing on his guitar playing & pre-fame days. Checkout the DVD & companion book tribute to the "Wrecking Crew" by Tommy Tedesco's son if you have not done so already. It has some great clips & interviews with Glen and all the other great studio players of the '60's era....a must have for your collection. It is available on Amazon & other similar sites.
Thanks for posting this..I made many happy memories watching the Glenn Campbell goodtime hour...he is a great entertainer and he is going to be greatly but it does look like he has carried his love of music with his kids
Glen Travis should be honored as the greatest rock, pop, and country/western guitarist in history. One great tenor (Elvis: baritone). Johnny Cash & Glen Campbell playing Folsom Prison Blues put tears in my eyes. Can’t get any better than two American Treasures playing together.
Always have been and will forever be a huge fan, just came across this and so very well done. Including a few clips I had never seen! THANKS so very much for putting this together! Glenn Campbell is one of the reasons I wanted and learned to play guitar myself ( not at all comparable Ha!) Greatly enjoyed this tribute
Josh, you are a very talented fella putting together all this footage. Glen has so many fans all over the country and you have enabled us to see a full spectrum of his great talent. Thank You for makin this available to you tube music followers. Great work.
Josh Reeves....I truly have to complement you on putting this detailed video together relative to Glen Campbell. Not only did you capture his early career, but your editing was done with such grace. I design websites for a profession and rarely have I seen a video done so well.
GREAT JOB, JOSH!! May Glen rest in peace...one of the BEST guitar players EVER, and reportedly, a SUPER GUY as well. CHECK OUT "I'LL BE ME", the documentary about him. It's wonderful...
Wow...!! I'm a guitar player, too, and Glen was an incredible player... Beautiful touch & lightning fast... Great voice, great looking...totally impressive guy.
Very nice job on this. If you can just get a few more share's this will take off. Maybe the length is keeping it from taking on views. Best compilation of Glen I have seen.
Wow! I’m stunned. Never seen most of these clips of his fantastic guitar solos. What a natural God given talent! BTW I think you’d really get more views if you’d change the title to Glen Campbell’s insanely amazing guitar solos or something. This needs to be seen to be really appreciated. And here I just thought it was another documentary like so many there are and I’ve seen.
Imo he was every bit as good as anyone liveing or dead on guitar. Including Chet Atkins jerry reed Brent Mason and Tommy Emanuel. They all had there oun style but could copy the others too.they were versatile enough to play any type music being studio musicians.
He wasn't just good at the guitar. He was very, very good. He is among the finest guitarists in popupular music, ever. Sad thing he didn't play/record more jazz. He would have played the shirt of most of his contemporaries. He had the technique and the musicality.
"But I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die" (14:31) Did Johnny Cash really do that? Did he really shoot a man in Reno just to watch him die or just to see how it feels to kill someone and watch him die in front of you? How a sadistic evil image. Was Johnny Cash a cold-blooded murderer? if not, why would he write lyrics like that?
I have long, long, long been truly amazed when that line was sung and men would cry out "yeahhhhhhhh"--I guess they love that line. Now some would say that you and I, take things too seriously in that this offends us-but it does, offend US, and I'm sure some others too. ON THE OTHER HAND: you can take this as an honest admission, that "back then, that's how I felt, I was that out of touch, yet now, I deeply regret that I felt that way" (and hung my head and cried)
Johnny said he tried to imagine the most evil, depraved and careless act to include in that particular line. To him that captured the worst a man could be.
That old clip of Glen standing next to Phil Baugh and they were exchanging licks and playing side by side. Phil played with my husband and they stayed good friends. My God the man could play,"Ain't no Sunshine" is incredible ,the concentration on his face ,he always gave it 110%.
Beautiful! Ain't no sunshine since Glen left this world...... 😞
glen campbell was the most underrated artist ive ever encountered. period. i'm 56
1/19/2019.. Saturday... Ur right.
He was NOT underrated....Watch his old interviews on Larry King....he played with everyone and everyone was his friend.

Not everybody has a ear to hear and a good rhythm. Pity them.
Watching this during Covid19 quarantine and a huge Protest March in Philadelphia......where I live!
What a welcome relief! Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
we will never have such talent pass our way again!! thanks for sharing this compilation of Glen's work/artistic performances!!!
yes, it's true
Josh Reeves, thank you so very much for this lovely homage to Glen. May Glen sing with the angels. He will never truly die because of the music he left behind.
Incredible video. Man, I could watch Glenn and Jerry Reed play together all day long and be first in line to watch them tomorrow.
He can play/improvise melodic lines over any chord change. Awesome.
The best fabulous video. I am in love!
He's one of the cleanest guitar Pickers I've ever heard never misses a fret
I just discovered this 2015 mini-doc...thanks so much! Glen Campbell had an ear and a passion for music and shared his talent with us for many decades. He went out on top and he is greatly missed.
FOREVER gentle on our minds...

What a truly talented entertainer! And I said "Entertainer" on purpose!
Josh Reeves thank you for doing this guitar compilation to show what a great skill Glenn had. He was one of the best I have come across. His show made me want to learn to play.
A really nice tribute to one fantastic performer! No one could play guitar like him. Thanks for doing this!
I was 7yr old in 1959. One could say I had 10 years in when I discovered Rock n Roll in 1962. STILL LOVE C&W from back in the day.
Thank you Josh. Well done. Glen was magnificent. We are so fortunate to have talented people like yourself to compile his performances
Thanks Mr. Reeves for posting this. Been a Glen Campbell fan since meeting him on vacation in 1961. He's my all-time
favorite. A great performer and supper nice man.
Roger C. San Diego ......
great compilation, that guy could sure play.
What is there to say! He is a rare gift and He share it with the world. We are richer for it. Bless and keep his family during this hard time.
He was the American Beatle. Even the Beatles had nothing on Glen. The Great Glen Campbell is right, and how great and humble he was. Just saw your post and I agree. Paul's voice is terrible.
Perfectly perfect. Glen Campbell and this video. Thank you so much!
Remarkable tribute to a legendary man. Thank you for putting this together.
I've enjoyed watching!

@@dayglow76 why is the sound missing from a couple of tracks?
thank you Mr. Reeves!
wow, so enjoyable. a phenomenal talent.
Thanks for this Josh. Really well done a fitting tribute to a true legend. Regards from England.
Thanks for this video. I never realized what a fine guitarist Glenn was,
Thanks for this very special collection of a True Guitar Legend 😃
I didn't realize Glen Campbell sung before he became a world class guitar player. Looks like he did a lot of singing in his very early years.
Thank you, that was amazing !! I have been a huge Glen Campbell fan since the mid 60's. What a talent. Wonderful tribute
Thanks for posting this..I made many happy memories watching the Glenn Campbell goodtime hour...he is a great entertainer and he is going to be greatly but it does look like he has carried his love of music with his kids

just amazing & the fact that he survived is a true testament to a higher power

Fantastic!!!
A very comprehensive video....he was a great, nothing more to say....but thanks.
What talent.....WOW!!
i've seen them all. beck. hendrix. clapton. no one was as fluid as glen.
He was a singer with superb control and musicality.
Thank you Josh Reeves
Thank you for putting out these video clips and love the way how he sang and rattle that guitar
yes he's truly remarcable
remarkable!!
Great job Josh! I shared it to my The Great Glen Campbell ~ "An American Treasure" Fan Group.
GREAT JOB, JOSH!! May Glen rest in peace...one of the BEST guitar players EVER, and reportedly, a SUPER GUY as well. CHECK OUT "I'LL BE ME", the documentary about him. It's wonderful...

Glen was a lot more than a rhinestone cowboy !! I love the man in black but Campbell is the true King of Country and a guitar master ! 👍🎸
Terrific!
A very rare talent
Amazing!!!
Glen was a brilliant player and session museum. Even when stricken with Alzheimer's he could play the crap outta that guitar.
amazing!!

This is a very unique performance of one of the most over rated talents, and one of
the most under rated talents! Cash/Campbell
Two very wild guitar men

Classical Gas with the Boston pops Orchestra and Arthur fiedler.
Glen could not read music but he never missed a beat.
Priceless Bee Gees. Barry Gibb!
To love somebody. We do
I really enjoyed listening to this. Could you tell me the name of the song at approx 18:40 in the video. Thanks very much
Classical Gas.
With the Bee Gees and Willie Nelson
How can I download this please?

Audio restoration, huh?
One segment has no audio at all!? Yikes.
That's because youtube blocked the audio on copyright.
@@dayglow76 Thanks. I was curious about the missing sound.
It didn't look like Glen liked singing without playing the guitar at the same time.

Wasn't happy so that solo 27:38
Why Chet Atkins never called him a certified guitar picker I'll never know probably cuz he was better than Chet Atkins
He wasn't better than Chet. They were equals on guitar. Glen was obviously a better singer though.
