My wife and I were fortunate to see Glen on his "Goodbye Tour" in Santa Barbara in 2014, the first and only time we saw him in person. He was promoting a new album, and the new music wasn't quite as familiar to him and he lost focus in his stories on occasion. But ,,, the music, the old hits, were so dynamic, so familiar. He had muscle memory playing the guitar, which was remarkable that he was able to perform nearly flawlessly. We will always treasure that experience, he was so talented and his family was so brave and supportive of his final tour for allowing him to show his great love of music and share it with an adoring audience one more time. RIP sir, you were one of a kind.

I discovered Glen when I was 8 years old in 1970 and have loved his music ever since. There were two shows on our television at that time that I never missed one was Johnny cash and the other Glen campbell.

Yeah, Glenn was just our kinda people!! Both sides of my family loved Glenn,, CHEROKEE/ENGLISH/IRISH,, that shows his appeal. He just said something with his music that ALL liked to hear. Glenn was one of a kind,,AND SUCH A TALENTED GUITARISTS!!

He helped our culture evolve. Stirring our melting pot of so many peoples and their music. My family has the Scott's music talent and I didn't even know it was a talent. I thought it was a curse reading music is like reading a book and not understanding plot, I finally told my band instructor I needed to hear a song to play it well. I'm just a minor talent, Glenn became a major talent to say the least. Glenn wasn't handicapped that way, like other greats, Atkins and Clark come to mind. I first heard him playing the astounding twelve string, didn't know he was a Beach Boy.

I loved this man and his incredible talent so much. I just hate that he put himself into such a mess that he went "through hell and back" according to him. So many wasted years. So much heartache and dysfunction. On the flip side, I'm so profoundly grateful that he made his way back to the Lord. I look forward to seeing (and hearing) him again in eternity.

Thank you Glen Campbell Forums for posting this video. It was good relive old memories. I fell "in love" w/Glen in 1967 when he was on the Smothers Brothers show. (I was in 7th & 8th grade back then!). I never lost interest in Glen after that. I think I still have some of his records, although they're unplayable now. (You know how it is w/downsizing.). But I enjoyed all his songs. I supported him through his down times w/wrecked marriages, drugs & alcohol. I'd write him encouraging fan letters & told him I was praying for him. I thank God that He used Kim to eventually deliver Glen from alcohol & cocaine. My best memories of Glen & Debby performing were in the late '80s/'90s at casinos like the Showboat & Trump Plaza in New Jersey, in New Bedford, the Goodtime Hour Revisited tour w/Nicolette Larson, & especially @ Harrahs in Reno & the Grand Palace in Branson. I miss Glen Campbell. RIP Glen! But @ least his music is still on RUclips! I continue to follow Debby Campbell & her music. I also follow Ashley Campbell. They both deserve success in the music business! My prayers are w/all the Campbells that they are living in peace w/each other & they all have good health!

I wish he would have given his first kids the time and attention, and love that he has given to his kids from his fourth wife. When he died, he didn't leave any of his 50 million dollars to his first kids. Which to me is sad and unfair. Still love his music.

I don't know whether Kim wrote his kids out of his will or not. Glen's Alzheimer's may have played a part. I'm not sure whether Glen really knew his wife was putting him in a memory facility. But I will say this: God used Kim & the power of corporate prayer (that's in the Bible) through church, through Glen's fans who were praying, & various other ministries to save & deliver Glen from alcohol & cocaine. For that, I'm grateful to Kim & thank God for her. I pray for Kim & her family that they will all have success in the music business. I pray that Debby continues her music career! As for how much money everyone got, that's none of my business. I just pray the entire Campbell family has resolved all these issues & they can all live in peace w/each other. God bless all of you!

Glenn was certainly a prodigy as a guitarist and singer. I watched him sing, gentle on my mind on RUclips. It was something hosted by Ralph Emery welcome back to the American rancher I think. There were 15 or 20 legends in a real kind of laid-back environment. Willie, Waylon, Chet Atkins, Roy Clark we’re just some of the great pickers there. Glenn gets about halfway through the song and just starts ripping on that guitar. When you see the impressed looks of these masters that really showcases his talents. He almost seemed embarrassed that he was so good. I’d be a happy man if I had 5% of his talent. And he just seemed like a real nice guy. RIP Glenn. And thank you for your help on the research being done to hopefully eradicate that horrible disease.

When Glen Campbell came to Brisbane Australia in the 1970s ,our Ranch /trail riding business .Supplied the horses for the parade to promote his performance. We offered a r veliable but showey horse horse to ride .He declined and chose a open topped car Wise Man 😆 He must have heard about some Ozzies that think it's funny to say."Shell be right mate
And saddle up a bucking Ɓronco .
Had a bit of a chat with him about horses and horseshoes and saddles .
Seemed like a nice Bloke .
Gave me tickets to his show for the Riders.
Until I watched this story I didn't even realise, I shook hands with a legend .❤😂🎉

I always love the stories of great artists coming from a meager existence. Glenn is one of the greatest American artists to ever record. The one thing I can't stand about male celebrities who have gone through divorces is when they take digs at their exes when being interviewed. Not a manly attribute. I love a double CD I have of Glenn and Jimmy Webb doing mostly songs Webb wrote that weren't hits. Fabulous listening....

To think that to this day many of our "leaders" take the C train every day. I remember how it was back then. I fact I can tell you this internet was developed by coke heads. Even to day, hyper stimulated people are writing code. Today it's crystal meth and they burn out quickly. The best stimulant is caffeine and that makes the world spin. Some of the best music also was created while hyped on barbiturates. Elvis & Cash come to mind.
