LOVEBITES are a great band. A friend of mine runs an alternative magazine here in the U.K. and interviewed them. When asked why they wear the white dresses they explained that it’s because they are small Japanese women and metal concerts tend to be quite dark affairs so they didn’t want to get lost in the background when they were performing. Definitely worth checking out more.

They are not fluent English speakers and sometimes they are a little hard to understand. They only have toured Europe outside of Japan, no US yet. They played at the Wacken festival in Germany, the 1st Japanese band to be invited. They are big fans of British metal like Iron Maiden. Their name comes from the Halestorm song "Love Bites (So Do I)". Halestorm invited Asami to sing that song with them at the Download festivals in Japan and the UK. The drummer (Haruna) and bassist(Miho) were in another band Destrose which spawned other metal bands like Mary's Blood, Disqualia, and Fate Gear. They formed in 2016 and in three years they have released 2 EPs, 2 studio albums, and 1 live album. Someone once described their look as 'angry bridesmaids'. Great band!
It is worth checking out Mary's Blood which was formed by Eye, the first lead singer of Destrose, and Mardelas which was formed by Marina Hebiishi, the second lead singer of Destrose. The new LOVEBITES album is being recorded right now for release early in 2020.

The female Japanese bands started in the 80's with a band called Show-Ya, who did split up, but have now reformed reformed. The current wave of Japanese female band was started by Aldious in the early 2000's. Another band was a band called Destrose about 2006, but they went there own ways after a while, the bassest wanted to start an 80's homage band and was joined by the drummer and became Lovebites. There is also Fate Gear that is also from Destrose and also Mary's Blood, the guitarist from Mary's Blood (who could be the best female guitarist out there) is also the daughter of the guitarist from Show-Ya.
You're welcome! I told you you'd like this band. That twin lead guitar duet between the two guitarists is characteristic of these girls. Just straight old school melodic power metal.

Check out live from them We The United, Under The Red Sky, Bravehearted, M.d.o. . I love this band. Top musicians who know how to create an excellent song.
Ok here we go The add in the begining is beacause it is a PV (Promotional Video) not an MV (Music Video) a Japanese thing. The Band formed to do Power/Speed Metal in the vein of Iron Maiden and Helloween whom they admire greatly. It is all English as is ALL their songs. Live well try this one ruclips.net/video/XzdzCt7VRmc/видео.html it is called The Crusade as is basically Aces High (iron Maiden) it is a fancam so not the greatest but you will get an idea
Here is the full concert - ruclips.net/video/rIqr1g59itI/видео.html It's a fancam, sound isn't great but is ok (a bit low). On the other hand, video is great and it's recorded from first row, right in front of Miyako, so you'll see some great guitar work. I watched few more live performances and they were always great live.
like your reaction. thank you. the ladies are so amazing and passionate with their music and in their own league. they toured UK with dragonforce in 2018 and were the first all female band played wacken, also in 2018.
The duel solo jumped in the top 10 of the best duel solos of all metal history. Also if you want to hear a very good japanese rap song, try 韻踏合組合 - "一網打尽" (Official Video)
Saw them at Download Festival uk,and they are stunning live.Off to see them in Edinburgh in November supporting Dragonforce.400 mile journey but absolutely worth it.Big things to come from them hopefully.
7:17 "Yeah, we're gonna do more, for sure" Boy did you guys drop-the-ball on that statement! 22 months later you got back to LOVEBITES! I hope you follow-through better after your June 11, 2021 'reaction'. LOVEBITES has 50 songs so you have alot of catching up to do... I enjoy both reactions so keep them coming, closer together this time, eh?
Good reaction, they have been to bloodstock festival last year, you can check out their live on RUclips. BTW, please react to Aldious - We are (another all-girl metal band form Japan), hope you guys enjoy!
Still waiting for more lovebites music videos available are the crusade , rising , when destines align, don't bite the dust also a video of live performances called daugbters of the dawn It would be great to get your reaction on some of these . From a fan from downunder in Darwin Australia.
I,m an old 80's era guitarist myself and have witnessed many Great Shredder bands. Trust me these Ladies are Easily Top Shelf. Highly technical and an easily flowing attack in the dual guitar play. Not many can play at this level btw.
Got to love the speed metal sound of the 1st all female band from Japan to play Wacken 2018 (it won't be the last) and then Bloodstock 2018!! Wicked good riffs with that sultry blues vocals over the speed metal sound!!! If you thought the riffs were wicked here try Mary's Blood Marionette (ruclips.net/video/MLM2unV0kwU/видео.html) and listen to Judas Priest in miniskirts!!! Rio's bass slams you against the wall while Eye's pop vocals gives you that Japanese Pop sound until Saki's steel fingers shreds your face and brain!!!! Real metal bands that are on the move to challenge the European domination of Metal!!!
I so hope these ladies can break the international barrier, it's not an easy thing to do in general for Asian bands, but there are somethat have like, Crosfaith and Chthonic, but I feel that if theses ladies can they will go very far.
Hey B & S guys, heres a brand new version last week, Domination live a week ago by Band Maid . Insane jamming performance version. great audio/video . A MUST see ! @

I think, MergingMoon’s Greyen would be an interesting one to react to. They have a live-ish cut on their channel. Japanese Metal band as well. They were featured on one of Anthony Bourdain’s shows.
For reals though, last one. AKKOGORILLA! Trust me on this one. She probably has the best flow of the three I am suggesting. ruclips.net/video/799rexxpndU/видео.html
OK, it’s been a year. No more Lovebites reactions. You are correct in wanting to look for a concert recording. They are really something to watch perform. It’s a shame that your first time was with one of those “Offical Videoes” that had a PLUG built into it. There’s a few- RIsing, and Don’t Bite the Dust- which have something interrupting the song. Don’t Bite the Dust video has glam photos of the band members- cheese city. I think these were done early on, and I hope not to see it again. Don’t Bite the Dust really makes me mad because it was a good “story” video IMO. That being said- check this out and you’ll get to see the opening songs of a Tokyo concert that is on DVD, but not available in the US> The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath ruclips.net/video/kxuhKdw7BzM/видео.html < That should give you a better idea of how well Asami can sing. All their lyrics are in English. Their lyrics really take me back to old heavy metal of the late 70’s and 80’s. There is something about seeing Asami singing those words in her princess outfit, and Haruna beating the drums, Miho obliterating the bass, and Midori and Miyako shredding their guitars. I wish I could find more of their work with lyrics imbedded in the video- even though Asami does change a word here and there.
you should react to Scream For Me daughters of the dawn live from tokyo 2019 if you like guitar solos this one has 14 of them please react to it and please let me know what you think
Well....... It's time to let go of the stereotypical heavy metal clothing of chains and leather and studs and nasty looking guys, it's time that looks no longer matter but the art of good music played with professionalism and heavy metal class that matters. Those ladies are sooooooooooooo fucking heavy power metal..they just amazing and so good to listen at.
THey are a great CD band. They are not as clean live. This type of metal needs exactness live. They are not there yet... live. I saw a set and it was sloppy. I wish they would work hard on that so they would more enjoyable live.
A year ago I thought the same thing. They only debuted live 18 months ago. This quality fancam from this summer shows how much better they’ve gotten. ruclips.net/video/hYDXlTxV-jI/видео.html Their recordings really are high quality too, their first recording was meant as a demo, but not only got them signed, but became the first EP Btw, they’re entirely in English (just not quite entirely accent-free)
@@cepho8349 I still see room for improvement. I see in them what many talented bands can't get over. They are not meshing. It feels like they don't like each other. I know that's not the case but it's not "together". However yes they have gotten better. Don't misunderstand me though. I do listen. I am just not feeling that they are getting the best result. I think and feel they can do better.
@@MrSoundMaxx No idea why you would think that. There are several live performances where it becomes obvious that they have great chemistry. They form an excellent team. But sure, I guess there is always room for some improvement. But they are close to perfection.
@@cepho8349 Like I said. I see. I listen and I come to the conclusion. It's not like I don't listen or watch. But the thing to keep in mind is that MANY great bands have had this same problem. In the end we just accept what and who they are and don't care about how well they play together live. One of the most famous bands was Fleetwood Mac. They even acknowledge their chemistry started to interfere with their live shows and eventual writing. So when I say ( sorry for not quoting myself but I simply got lazy and did not look it up ) what I did it did not mean to take anything away from them. It was a professional observation about the performance. It may not even be chemistry that influences what I am hearing. It may have more to do with the music they write. It may also have to do with, and I know I will get backlash for this but meh, one or more's musicianship live. If I wanted to tear it down and be critical I would have. However I want to watch their videos and enjoy the music for what it is and not get technical about it. I don't work with them or for them so in the end it's opinion and that's all it is. I have run sound for many bands, good and bad. I have been asked to help by providing feedback and ideas. So, unfortunately, I view all bands from that mentality. It's not meant to tell you that you should not like them. It's not meant to tell you they are not good. It's simply an observation from someone who likes them enough to care about how they could improve on what they have.

Caught in the noise, my thoughts are destroyed
Trapped in the silence, it's so hard to breathe
But still I go on, my hunger is strong
Hoping that someone will grab my hand
Stranded by moonlight I realize the cold of this world
Maybe it's too late?
No one can save me
From all of the darkness and solitude
Cry, like shadows of the night
I carry all the pain inside to justify why I'm alive
Despite going through this hell
Cause still my heart has hope
No matter if I'm torn apart, I'll play my part
Before I drown with secret thoughts of my heart
Reckless and fast, how long will I last?
Dancing like puppets, I'm empty inside
Fighting the fear, and grieving the dear
Hoping that someday I'll be repaid
Only my echoing heartbeats can prove that I'm here
Am I all alone?
Even a faint light is too bright for me, I can't see a thing
Hide, in shadows I reside
I tremble like a heartless soul, no place to go
In desolated land knowing no escape
But still I wish to live
Just waiting for a somebody to notice me
Before I fall down to depths of the abyss
Caught in the noise, my thoughts are destroyed
Trapped in the silence, it's so hard to breathe
But still I go on, my hunger is strong
Hoping that someone will grab my hand
Stranded by moonlight I realize the cold of this world

For reals though, last one. AKKOGORILLA! Trust me on this one. She probably has the best flow of the three I am suggesting. ruclips.net/video/799rexxpndU/видео.html
Try Holy War its live
OK, it’s been a year. No more Lovebites reactions. You are correct in wanting to look for a concert recording. They are really something to watch perform. It’s a shame that your first time was with one of those “Offical Videoes” that had a PLUG built into it. There’s a few- RIsing, and Don’t Bite the Dust- which have something interrupting the song. Don’t Bite the Dust video has glam photos of the band members- cheese city. I think these were done early on, and I hope not to see it again. Don’t Bite the Dust really makes me mad because it was a good “story” video IMO.
That being said- check this out and you’ll get to see the opening songs of a Tokyo concert that is on DVD, but not available in the US> The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath ruclips.net/video/kxuhKdw7BzM/видео.html
< That should give you a better idea of how well Asami can sing.
Thanks "Why Not" they just reacted to your suggestion today, June 11, 2021

右の人はデンゼルワシントン?
This quality fancam from this summer shows how much better they’ve gotten. ruclips.net/video/hYDXlTxV-jI/видео.html
Their recordings really are high quality too, their first recording was meant as a demo, but not only got them signed, but became the first EP
Btw, they’re entirely in English (just not quite entirely accent-free)
Check out their recent live performances. They are excellent live.
"Their outfits don't really fit their sound." Go find some old ANGEL video.
