Here in South Texas we fish the mangroves as well and those Heddon spooks are key to catching them, rarely have issues with the treble hooks, only use in line when it's super grassy. The water there looks much like down here.. tight lines 👊👊🎣🎣
Another great video....If you have not done this, you need to....... Troll with light Tackle... I get about 30yrds from shore and troll with 3 poles trailing gold spoons and I land 3x's the fish I would casting at the structures... Simple explanation,,, Covering far more water results greater hook-ups!!!!! Even thru area's of flats and inlets.. When I hit a hook-up, I sight and if there are more fish I will target cast....
after years of living in Vero Beach I first turned to two treble ,next to one , next to a single single hook ,next to no hooks . Sounds crazy but often one only wants some sport and not food . If that appeals to you go hookless and learn how to get the strike without harming the fish . BTW largest Florida redfish was caught on a topwater lure Atom 40
Im an old dog, the phrase structure and cover are misused. Structure is a creek channel or ledge in a body of water. Cover is a pile of rocks, a brush pile, a log anything on the structure. With the increasing pressure on structure fish move away from directly on the best cover to secondary even teriary locations.

Back in the 70's I would catch snook and trout wading in the Banana River at Merritt Island using a Rapala. RIght at daybreak, terrific fighters.
Nice!

Was this just a little south of CNS lot 5? I swear I recognize that mangrove you were fishing.
Would you say shorter rods are easier to work the top water, maybe a 7” instead of a 7”6

@@Saltstrong Will do! I literally lost 5 big snook in the last couple of days because the lure keeps popping out.
