  • Combat Control Selection School. Some of the most elite troops of the Air Force are put to the test. They push themselves to the limit every day during training. Comments below do not represent views of the 2nd Combat Camera Squadron or the U.S. Air Force, and any offensive or derogatory comments will be removed.

    Ranger school is only like 16 weeks bro lol. Combat Controller School is like a year to a year and a half...
    Don't judge a branch by it's label. Just because it's Air Force, doesn't mean we "sit around and fly jets and helicopters". Yeah, Army has some hardcore stuff, but that doesn't mean they're the toughest around. If you wanna see tough, you need to check out Pararescue Jumpers, Those guys match up to the training even Navy SEALS go through, if not than even more harsh.

    CCT's deploy with Special Forces, Navy Seals, Delta Force, etc. They have to be able to do anything an 18X can and also be able to do their required task. So yeah, it's as tough.

    As a former Air Force officer - Comm/Systems, NOT Special Tactics, and former enlisted Infantryman in the Army, I can tell you that if you separated from the military, were looking for a job, and had Combat Control on your resume, you'd make it to "the top of the stack" for any jobs I had. The skills you'd learn, not just the technical skills, but teamwork, learning to work under extreme pressure, etc. those mean a LOT to a manager-type like me.

    being an ex marine myself, I always laughed at the recruiting commercials when they said "they'll put you through hell and back just to be called a marine." not even close

    I was in this video. 2 very hard Challenging weeks. Our team got it pretty bad. After the cameras were gone, all the other selections after that got easier from what i saw. the funny thing is, more than half of the guys in this video are practically all TACP's now.we started with 31, only 14 passed selection. and only 4 are still in the pipeline.

    all ccts are faa certified air traffic controllers so you can do that when you get out. and with all the skills you learn like scuba, halo, and small unit tactics you could open up a scuba or a skydiving business, or become a private military contractor.

    There is a difference between training and education. Training prepares you to do a job. Education teaches you how to learn ANY job. SOF operators are in huge demand in the civilian world because our attitude is "Yeah, I can learn/do that." Our resume is a blank check - not a list of things we have been trained to do. You want someone to lead? Make hard decisions? See the important things through the chaff? Hold up under pressure? Do the right thing when nobody is looking? Hire us.

    You should educate yourself before you speak in a public forum. They have to complete the Air Force STS requirements and then attend the course of whichever unit they may be assigned too. That means they will also attend ranger school and army SF q course if assigned to the unit. Going through multiple SOF courses is much harder than just having to get through one.

    Does anyone have any good ideas/suggestions on how to get prepared for the P.A.S.T.? I'm going for CCT and what I've basically been doing is working mostly on what they test you on such as, push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and lots of swimming. If anyone here who is knowledgeable enough in this particular area of the Air Force, please shoot me a message. No bull shit please.

    I think everybody should stop putting down other branches cause all they do is "sit around all day" and other crap like that. Each branch is made for a certain reason, may it be on or off the battlefield. Not saying an entire branch only works off the field

  • @sarge4826
    @sarge4826 12 лет назад +1

    do you guys go skydiving, and scuba diving with green berets and navy seals? and do you guys provide air traffic control to get plains and airborne guys on the ground? do you call in close air support to keep your team alive when you are heavily outnumbered? if you answered no to any of those questions then ccts DO in fact do more than MWSS units.

  • @home.wrecca

    No the title isn't only for the Green Berets..

  • @MrAnasthetic
    @MrAnasthetic 12 лет назад +1

    i wouldnt say that they are better trained in the ways of combat itself, yes all Spec Ops support units are trained to a certain level of combat so they can operate along side Spec Ops like SEALs and Green Berets and MarSoc. But yes they are trained better in the ways of field expedient commo and they also use more sophisticated radio lingo (JTAC). Each Spec Ops unit has their strengths and that is why they all work together because they compliment each other.

  • @MrMAlosangeles

    BUD/s is a selection course and its 6 months. Upon completion of BUD/s you have 18 months of training and workup before you are operational. CCT pipeline has a 2 week selection/indoc. After that it takes 1-1.5 years to complete all your training and workups to be operational. Army SF 21 weeks of pre-reqs before selection which is 3 weeks, then training (Q-Course) is anywhere from 1.5-2 years before you can don the GB. Thats also without MFF, Combat Diving. So in actuality Army SF is longer.

  • @travelerthrulife
    @travelerthrulife 12 лет назад

    @DropShotsLOL No one has a six month selection. I think you are confusing training with selection. The selection in this case just gets them into the training that lasts for over a year.
