Coach, this is exactly(!) what I needed to hear. Been boxing for about 1 1/2 years and feel like my sparring game has been getting the best of me mentally and I didn’t know how to address it. You are on point man, much love from Australia 🥊🥊
Love this video.. my first time sparring I was shaking nervous. A few months later when I recovered from a hamstring injury I was nervous as fuck again... it's a matter of facing/overcoming the first few punches to the face 😅. Hell, I even got dropped when I got back in. And that's when I realized I got nothing to be afraid of or be nervous about. The last time I sparred my hands were flying. Although my ass burned out (need more conditioning) I felt so much better. Coach tells me all the time that it's normal. Love this ❤

Great video Coach! I do have a question I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have fears (blocks) any suggestions on how to get to the root. Thanx great content.
Fear is part of it but the other side is the technical aspect, make sure you record your sparring sessions and every time you get hit watch it in slow motion and you will see what you should have done and know what to do to correct it once you have both under control you’ll see a much better outcome!!

Coach V I'm in NYC Queens. Maybe I can come up there to train for the day. I need to work on my defence Coach V it's like somebody throws 3 punches before I even see the first one. I'm getting better working with the foam sticks , but I need more. I'm training for the Masters. in August. at Gleason's in Brooklyn.
I train hard, I'm motivated by adversity and getting beat makes me want to train more. However, I go home from sparring with a sore body and busted up face - nothing extreme, but the expected niggles from boxing - and I can't let go of the thoughts of: are my organs being damaged, am I damaging my brain over time, and the thought of losing brain function or any kind of body function and becoming a vegetable or a burden on my family into the future is what I fear. And I don't know whether I should quit to another sport, or what to do. I don't fear getting hit or knocked out when fighting, I love the fight, getting hit fuels me to train harder... But I just don't know if the sport is good for me. I'm 27, I'm not getting paid for boxing, and I'm a teacher
I feel the same way. I go home after sparring with my head down sometimes. I feel like maybe I'm not going to be as good as I think I can be., because my head movement iis what I need to work on.
