Hey, hope you are all safe and well? HP has released their ProBook 450 G7 to coincide with the launch by Intel of their 10th Gen Comet Lake processors. The chassis stays the same from the G6, but we have 1080P IPS display option, spill-resistant keyboard and greater military standard testing. Has this popular value business laptop range done enough to stay ahead?

I have Probook 450 g6 with top spec and I love it. It's solid and good build in general. Only downside is annoying fan noise. Looks like g7 didn't change much.

Hi, Love to review more Lenovo laptops as they are fantastic. Historically HP have a facility for us to loan out new devices from them, hence the bias towards HP on our channel. Trying to get hold of the T14 and X1 Carbon 8th Gen for review if possible. The P workstation range is definitely up there in the top two with the ZBooks. 👍

Do you have issues with the fan noise? Are satisfied with the display?
@@FN2166_ Im not annoyed by the fan noice. When your doing a lot of tasks you hear a blowing noice sometimes but its not that loud. For school/work and some youtube its ok. If your gaming or watching movies a lot i would go for a better screen laptop.
i have a 640 g1 but its still fast but it can't really be used for gaming :( i tried some games and it cant handle csgo
I have the same laptop, but i am limited to get only 6 bit display, instead of standard 8 bit display?
Can anyone help me as to how to get 8 bit display from this machine????
Btw, i hv updated all the drivers but coulnt get 8 bit display!!!
One last thing, when i uninstall and delete its intel's UHD display driver, windows switch it to 8 bit display...

I have read this laptop supports USB-C based charging. Can we buy off-the-shelf power delivery docks e.g. Caldigit T3Plus dock, with 87W of charging and use single cable for everything? Or must I buy an official HP USB-C charger for this one? Please do answer, thanks!!

Thanks. The display panel is average and therefore not suitable for Adobe PS and PP, however you can still edit 4K60 videos with it. Encoding is slow as well.

Thanks. Unfortunately, that is the major weakness of the PB 450 G7's, the display panel brightness is poor across the range. Although have noticed that newer laptops now have better display options. i.e. 300/400/500 nits

Hello, is it almost the identical compared to HP Probook 455 G7? And what would you choose between the 455 G7 Ryzen 5, or The ThinkPad E15 AMD?

Thanks. 455 G7 and ThinkPad E15 are very similar. If you want performance, go for these over the 450 G7 Intel CPU. Battery life is slightly better with the Intel CPU's over the AMD ones.

Thanks. I would wait for the ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 (AMD) due out soon. *Better keyboard and performance, although the screen is still average with 250 nits.

Yes, you can. Get plenty of memory for it, 16GB minimum. 32GB recommended.

I can see this model is offered with a 1000 nits display panel option and 2GB discrete graphics making it close to an XPS 15 on paper... not even the XPS has that amount of nits, can it be true?
Yes and No. The 1000 nits model is with a SureView privacy feature. Recommend not getting this model unless you need this security option. The new 450 G9 has a 400 nits model which is a superior display for general office usage.

Watch my review on the ProBook 445 G7! Fan is not noticeable on that model.

Do all versions of Probook 450 g7 have IPS screen?
The majority are IPS screen, however there is a base model with TN 720P display panel in certain countries.
I have the probook 450 g7 (i7-10510u) with 8gb of ram. I'd like to know if it is possible to increase my ram and expand my storage, if so what is the maximum amount and type of ram it can handle and the max amount and type of storage?
Yes and Yes. Memory up to 64GB and storage up to 4TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4. 👍

Usage: Autocad - Naviswork - Electrical Automation Programs with simulations - Microsoft office regular work in addition to using a VPN program as I might use it in restricted areas.
Which one is the best option ? And if there's another one within this budget which one you recommend ? Many thanks in advance.
Autocad work would require a laptop with a dedicated GPU unless you are just viewing the drawings. Also, you may want to consider an Intel H processor than a battery efficient Intel U processor for more processing power required. Look at the HP ZBook range. 👍

@@Dovecomputers Hi, just for information, AutoCad doesn't need something to powerful, I currently use a core i3 6006u with 8 GB ram and an HDD (it's trash compared to this laptop) and I can comfortably work with small and medium tasks, even 3D drawings are alright. As you said an HP ZBook is the standard but it will depend on the budget and the specific work.

Only basic tasks like 2D viewing, etc. Need Intel H CPU and dedicated Quadro GPU like the HP ZBook's.

I am looking for a laptop for office use and sometimes gaming. I am confused between hp envy x360 15" and this probook 450 g7. The probook i looked have 32 gb ram and envy have 16 gb. I want laptop for working on solidworks and catia etc. Also a little bit gaming like gta 5. Can you solve my this confusion.
Both the ProBook 450 G7 and HP Envy x360 *Review coming soon, are office laptops rather than for CAD work or gaming. If you didn't need it for CAD work, the ProBook 450 G7 with MX250/MX350 would tick all the boxes. Consider the HP ZBook range for Solidworks/Catia tasks...for example the HP ZBook Firefly *Review out by end of this week, or even the HP Envy 15-ep range with dedicated GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 GPU's. 👍

Not on this review model. Only one UK model has a backlight keyboard, more on the Euro and US models.

Difficult choice as they are similar in specs. I would argue the AMD model (E15 Gen 2 AMD) would give you better performance and the Thinkpad has a very good keyboard.
What if I bought a AMD Variant of this, though?
The only downside I saw in E15 is that one Ram is soldered.
What I meant is I'm stuck between the 455 G7 vs E15 Gen 2. Both has AMD RYZEN 5. The only downside I saw in E15 was the 1 Soldered RAM and doesn't have much ports as 455 and one downside I saw at 455 G7 was there's no backlit keyboard.

Get the 100%srgb screen, AMD version, and even slightly bigger battery is the almost perfect all around laptop.
Still looking for the perfect AMD 4000 series laptop! 100% sRGB, Dedicated GPU, Thunderbolt 3 (*When Intel decides to allow AMD to use it.) 👌
@@Dovecomputers I hope other manufacturers decided to incorporate the 4800h into business laptops as well. The Huawei matebook is using it in their lineup. That is well fine enough without a dedictaed GPU

No, you need a Thunderbolt 3 connection and a compatible external GPU enclosure for it to work. Yes you can charge via the USB-C.

Probably want a laptop with a dedicated GPU. The 450 G7 with MX250 or MX330 would be better. (Only for light CAD work) Otherwise look at ZBook with Quadro GPU's.

No there are probably better ones. Don't buy a Dell they're very cheaply made and will break unless it's a convertible 2 in 1 because they're solid and have metal hinges.

Depends on the region, most UK models do not come with backlighting. Some in the US and Europe do have them included.

Keyboard is not too bad and yes programming is fine on the 450 G7. Alternative would be the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" with a better keyboard. 👍

If based on performance alone, the AMD powered PB 455 G7 wins hands down. Slightly better battery life on the 450 G7. Some organisations need vPro which the i7-10610U has this feature. 👍
how is thermal management for games like csgo?
Good as its an Intel U CPU, they don't run hot anyway. TDP is rated at 15 watts.
@@Dovecomputers I bought this laptop and updated drivers, and bios through slimware - I played CSGo with friends and it closed after heating up - I took it for warranty and the retailer said that the laptop can't take up extensive gaming - even though it has an NVidia 3d card in it. This is surprising to me, esp after reading your comment.

Хубавото са възможностите за ъпгрейд на паметта (много от останалите производители запояват единия слот с RAM), място за хард диск и корпус от пластмаса и алуминий. А сега AMD отнася Intel - и представеният тук процесор е 4-ядрен (с осем нишки), тоест 4700U има двойно повече физически ядра (тоест запас от производителност за следващите години). Intel-ът има едно предимство: по-висока честота и лек превес в single core performance. Но моделът определено не е геймърски (а и вграденото видео на AMD e поне 2 пъти по-бързо от Интелското). Сега погледнах и цените на двата модела - близки са, даже с АМД получаваш малко повече.

You probably want to get something with a dedicated GPU if you will be designing electrical diagrams. The HP ZBook range is ideal. For example, the HP ZBook Power G7 is coming out soon to replace the ZBook 15v 'value' mobile workstation.

Yes for basic to general usage. Not if you intend to use it daily for work or college.

인천 수리센터에 갔는데 수리비 780000을 내라고 하더군요.
저는 서류 작성용으로 노트북을 사용했어요.
HP는 쓰레기이에요. 절대 사지 마세요.
I have the laptop
its so bad:
1) no LED keyboard
2) no Display POrt (DP)
3) and the huge problem is the bloody speakers which are so bad to way that you can only use it for calls, bad at music, movies, gaming and everything.
and after that its a bloody 1200$.
