This isn't a skit; it's live footage of real teachers.
Lol
Kids r realizing schools are not for anyone.
the truth
@@nicoleschrader6529 lol
Should have used real teachers
eggo absolutely nailed her delivery of TSIDDAHN
Yeah she was bad for a long time , I would have not kept her on the show , but lately , very lately they have started casting her in better roles and she’s started to get it , and learn not to read without making vocal mistakes
@@scottichniowski3106yeah you need to TSIDDAHN!
That was the funniest part of this video. Lol😂
@@scottichniowski3106 What are you talking about? Ego is amazing? A teacher? Lisa from Temecula? Proud Parents? Loco?
@@scottichniowski3106 , you are not describing Ego. She was always good but not seen as much early on because they had and used Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Leslie Jones more at the time.

Truth.
It's so true though for adults and kids!
As a parent & teacher, it seriously 100% did :(
I turned 50 this school year and simmering has changed in the last 3 years.
@@geminianpoet Please, keep up the good fight!
It’s unreal how this skit only scratches the surface
I was thinkin the same thing...like the stories I have as a teacher are wild. lol
That too. It’s a whole damn iceberg under there. 😝
YUP! Don't even get me started on the 9th grader who was extorting a 6th grader in order to arrange a meeting with her popular friend, a 'got hot over summer' 9th grader who isn't even close friends with the original grifter. These kids are Machiavellian and they won. I'm writing grants in August.

That’s what I thought too!!! And I teach college!
As a sort of teacher (kinda) for autistic kids, the line "you are on drugs and spectrums that did not even exist in 2006" is such a raw line and I love it.
Me, too, and there is humor in everything. Over thirty years in this business has taught me that things constantly change.
As an AuDHD adult, I thought that was bloody hilarious 😂
@@ash.j. as an AuDD adult (former teacher, lil' older than Maya/ *Mother),* same 😆
Pretty sure they meant gender identity and sexual preference spectrums (as seen with Kenan getting pieced up by two non-binary asexual 12-year-olds, which how would that work?), but I guess it can also apply to the autism spectrum.

It comes from an old sketch were they said “simma dan na” in the 90s
It was hilariously perfect!
I am tempted to write it on my board.
Gotta pause it to come to the comments to agree.

I love how giddy Ego felt when she realized her punchline was successful. 😂
I love her! 😂
It gave her power! So fun to see.
I have been waiting for Ego and the audience and the writers to realize she’s the most talented lady cast member at the moment and they need to lean into her skill set. Like this! More of this!

“There’s liquor in this thermos!” 🤭
“I got pieced up by two 12 year-old non-binary asexuals” omg that is comedy gold.
yeah, that one hasn't gotten the same attention in comments that the rest of the best lines have gotten, but it was in the top running, for sure
Kid on the right's smirk fucking crushed it too
Funny ass shit 💀

Laughed aloud on that line. Kenan delivered it perfectly
Special Ed teacher here!! This was shared in my 20-person coworker text group, and we collectively agree this is painfully accurate. The public, and more importantly the parents, need to know how accurate this is. If you think it can’t possibly be true, either you don’t work with children, or this is your child and not only did you ignore all our phone calls home, but when we do get you on the phone you say, “And if them TEACHERS say something smart to MY child they can expect something smart back”. You’re right boo, it’s me not them 😂
Amen
It was shared in our staff group chat as well. We’re spent!
Im sorry you had to deal with that. But I will say as one of the parents that does answer it gets fucking exhausting to get everything pinned on my kid just bc they want a resolution. I miss my school days where nothing was a big deal unless there was blood lol
I don't have kids so probably doesn't help... but I live within a mile of a school, and lady, I *believe you*.
😂 sad but true all day. These kids are relentless//. No home training 😝
I am retiring this year after 42 years of teaching. I can’t wait until I can T-S-I-D-D-A-H-N a bit myself.

42?!!
I’m at thirty. Hats off to you!!!!!
Thank you for your service.
This is year 30 for me, I am doing one more year. Thanks for you service.
Year 26
This was one of the best skits. As a teacher, they did not lie especially with Kahoot. I spent more time deleting crazy names they came up with on Kahoot than doing the activity. I got injured and everything. They won.
I make them use real names or I boot them out. One kid thought he was so smart; he had a second page open and snuck in an inappropriate name. I ended the whole game and the podium kids almost beat him down.
This is one of the many reason I switched to Gimkit! Uses their actual name - but gives me the option to edit in their preferred name on day 1 when I set up the class, but it also lets me have random cute nicknames - like purple elephant, for them to pick, or lets them put in their nickname for the game. I’ll never go back to Kahoot.
Thanks for your efforts. The struggle is real and I appreciate you.
That’s why I use the randomly generated names and they can cry about it later 😂
I use the random generated nicknames. I learned my lesson really quick.
T-S-I-D-D-A-H-N! 😂💀
That was the funniest part for me 😂😂😂
Ego was really milking it after she realized it was a hit.

“Covid broke something we can’t fix,” was spot on!!! Thank you for “seeing
us” teachers, this was the best skit!
These "Decades" of kids is something that's incomprehensible; and, most times, it's not bc of the Parent[s].... It's the drugs out there that resemble candy; the Rap music that is STILL negatively influencing our kids once they leave the home; it's the added vaccinations these kids receive, ie, they recv more vaccines than we did in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, how corporate America is keeping parents working overtime, stealing Family Time with their kids; Gangs, accessible to weapons, etc , I can go on.....
So, don't blame Parents all the time! These kids are cussing out the Parents, now. You ask, why? Read this message, again......May Thy Heavenly Father Bless us, all!✝️🙏🏻👼🏼
My heart goes out to all teachers.
Seems it’s an American thing though
These horrible children are a result of horrible parents.
@@lsloan1960 True
Not mine! The teachers I had didn’t know how to deal with kids at all and they would pick on the ones who struggled because it gave them a sense of entitlement!

Quitting teaching middle school was one of the best decisions I've ever made. This skit is painfully accurate.
As a public school teacher I have watched this approximately 650 times and have shared it will all my teacher friends. 😂

This skit had me weak! Maya ‘Y’all rude and y’all nasty.’ 🤣 Great job SNL.#educator23years
Middle school teacher here. This is absolutely spot on and hilarious. If I hear skibbidy toilet one more time my ears are going to start bleeding.
Yep I told them I’m banning that phrase from my room. I can’t take hearing it anymore!
I hear it daily from my 13 year old son. He also talks about my gyatt.
Yikes! I hope you know what "gyatt" means
I have heard my son say this, but I have no idea what it even means. I figured it was some RUclips or Tik Tok thing the kids are on about. The slang these days is wild.
They also say “sigma”
Watching this as a public school teacher and wondering, how do they know! 😅
As a former middle and high school teacher, I can honestly say that this is how I felt at the end of the semester. The fact that they nailed it, makes it all the more hilarious😂😂
I watched one of my students (middle school) break a pencil they borrowed from me into tiny pieces then ask me for another pencil. I don't understand what is happening this year. I thought last year was hard, but this year was indescribable. Thank you for understanding.
Best teacher appreciation gift ever.

Me too. Agreed.
I can't even begin to describe how accurate this is. Honest beyond belief and absolutely hilarious. Whoever wrote this knows A LOT of teachers.
I know some teachers who have harder days than I do. And I work at a jail.
Ha, the hall monitor at our middle school said her job as a guard in a woman's prison was easier.

I haven’t seen this episode of Abbot Elementary
It was planned, but went unproduced for being too cynical. Which is a shame, because I think it's perfect.
Over 350,000 U.S. teachers have quit since 2020. Only a fraction of those have retired.
Wow...knew it was a lot, but didn't know how many...
I'm a first year teacher and I'm kinda feeling this rn. The motto i live my life by? "I am the adult, i cannot go to jail"
I taught 5th grade during 2021-23 and they absolutely won. They are feral.
😂😂😂
Sub here, trying to claw my way through the last eight days of a long-term assignment. Middle school. Ugh. Feral is absolutely the right word.
Hopefully it will get better as the 5th graders you get at least had in person 1st and Kinder, you know the years in school where most of what you teach is socialization. Honestly, the whole Covid broke something isn't too far off the mark, whole lotta folks decided it was a free ticket to act a fool in public. It's not affection I'm worried about being on display, it's "Public Displays of Asshattery" I'm concerned with.
They’re not feral.
Even feral animals abide by rules and guidelines.
Sometimes it's just the delivery. "Y'all rude and y'all nasty" already had me cackling
Ego Nwodim kills it every time! I’ll be hearing, “TSIDDAHN” in my head for the next few years, if not forever.
lol. My mom was asked to be a substitute teacher and she quit once the year was over. This was her direct quote: "I don't mean to sound callous here, but....I think kids have honestly gotten dumber." 🤣
i mean i would be pretty happy if my student gave my $10 000.
Right? That one was off - the rest hit the nail on the head
They raised 10k, she didn't say she received it.
@@muchtested right! they should've added something like...'and then they took the 10K bought the chubby gym teacher Ozempic'
😂 you think they gave to her? Hell no. They probably would buy shoes, vapes, and Stanley cups with it. It’s amazing the side hustles they come up with. Kids will sell a sip of their drinks for a $1 during COVID. Yall they won.
TSIDDAHN is such iconic enternal catchphrase.
Absolutely 😂😂😂
LMAO. "Look! COVID broke something we can't fix." 🤣
Sooo true!
This was brutally accurate. Also screaming tsiddahn
Never have I seen a more accurate RUclips video in my life
Yup, funny not funny and our society has no idea what is coming. Winter is coming
Whoever wrote that TSIDDAHN joke killed it.
It's like they were spying in on my 5th period class this year.
Not shown: Principals and other administrators hiding in their offices pretending their schools are wonderful & telling parents their children are not what their actual teachers say.
THIS!!!
TSIDDAHN is the realest moment in the skit
I like the jokes on SNL but this new serious documentary style is really interesting.
Did teachers help write this skit? Because it could not be more accurate! As a teacher I found it hysterical!!!
OMG so hilarious, and TRUE! I am 13 days away from finishing year 40, with one more to go. Currently teach JH, but started with 12 years of HS teaching. This hits so close to home, I gotta think that whoever wrote this skit has to be married to (or the child of) a teacher. I think the vast majority of the general population has no understanding of how this is our daily existence, especially at this time of the year.
These teachers deserve a silk robe fundraiser 👘🙌 TSIDDAHN!!!
How about a GoFundMe so they can finally afford lemonade?
That closing OnlyFans joke, ooft 😂
As a teacher, the TSIDDAHN is real
I teach special education at an alternative high school. Let me tell y’all, this skit NAILED IT! Ego’s TSIDDAHN took me OUT! I laughed SO HARD! I’m sending this clip to all of my colleagues! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 😂
I feel like I need to say "Thank you for your service."
Teachers across America know this skit is sooooo true 😅
And there is liquor in this thermos 🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻💯💯
I was a high school teacher for 16 years. I’m not ashamed to say I tapped out. This skit really hit home.
I feel you, mate. Ten years and on the verge of a psych admission (no joke.)
I'm wearin' that lanyard every day. Yep. It's funny, but then again, you could cry. You guys nailed it.
I made it 2.5 months as a 6-8 teacher. They won.
Middle school is so hard! If I'd had any other option, I would have quit at the winter break. I have two weeks left and I will not be returning to my current school for the coming year. They won
Just don’t forget that behind every kid is a parent with similar attitude.
I disagree. Only bc I know firsthand now. I will say though most of the time yes but not always. I have 2 children who couldn't be more different. 1st child mellow and kind. 2nd handful and a half. However, covid hit when they were 5. So....
Let ego guest star on Abbot elementary please 😂😭.
Yooo fr fr… she can be the this teacher or the sub who thinks they’re all poor illiterate urban youth, but they turned out to be college level honors🤦🏾♀️🤣😅
OMG, that would be the best!
I feel like TSIDDAHN will become an iconic phrase that many teachers will use after seeing this.
Don't worry. They use it now.
This is one of those sketches that's a little too relatable 😂
Yep. Teachers are going through some things nowadays.
As a retired teacher I totally relate and saw this first hand great skit
39 years in the profession and still going! Literally had a child use gyatt as his user name in Blooket. I teach 5th grade. I felt like I needed a bingo card for this video. The "Covid broke something and we can fix it" line is so true. I laughed, but it hit hard, too.
I also had one try gyatt as his kahoot username recently. I kicked him out immediately too. They think we are stupid.
As a first-year high school teacher, I feel this on a spiritual level. 😅
"TSIDDAHN" is just about every teacher's catchphrase & Ego's delivery puts it over the top!!
Hahahahaha this skit is gold! As a teacher, I felt just about every last one of these 🤣🤣 This school year has been an, umm.... journey to say the least. 4 more days until summer break!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Shows how kids have been bullying teachers
It's not comedy, it's a documentary
Ego is a national treasure love her😂❤️
I’m a middle school art teacher going on 10 years now. Y’all win the battle, but I’ll be damned if y’all think you’re gonna win the war. TSSSSSIDDAHN!
I taught high school 2008-11 (laid off) and have been teaching at a community college for ten years now. High school students are a big part of our enrollment but I still feel like kids are kids. The tech and culture changes but you chip away a few layers and they're still a lot like the kids I taught in my early 20s.
Respect to all my colleagues across the country. Underfunded, underappreciated, and unsung.
As a teacher, I recommend my colleagues to not waste any time ordering the "Dear Parents: Tag, You're It" T-shirts" for the last day. Someone is going to make a killing. IYKYK
I feel like those should have been around when the COVID lockdowns happened. Then they can be saved for summer break when things more-or-less got back to normal.
I showed this to my mom, a middle school teacher, and she loved it so much and it was so relatable!
Absolutely hilarious! We've got 7 days left in our school year, so Imma take a picture of T-S-I-D-D-A-H-N and put it on my desk. Everytime one if my students gets up, Imma point to it.....TSIDDAHN!
I went back to college in my 40s to become a teacher after almost a year.I couldn't stand it, they all won. This is not a joke
That’s so sad to hear
I love the quality in humans that says I want to help shape and cultivate young minds but knowing what parenting and children have become...WHY???😂😂😂
Sad but true
I was 30, went back to my old school with the idea of , I dunno getting a sense of teaching, and noped the hell out. A whole classroom of kids with like $100,000 in computer equipment did absolutely nothing for 3 hours.
Just imagine what they are like at home!
As a teacher, I can tell you that it's not the students. We're in this job for the students. It's the parents who very much need to TSIDDAHN, STFU, and listen to the teachers who are trying to ensure their kids don't grow up to be insufferable Karens...like their parents.
No. It’s sometimes the kids. Their parents try. At least at my school. They just have no clue how to deal with their kids because they don’t understand them. It’s a totally different culture from what they grew up with in Central America and they are lost. The parents at my school don’t argue with us. They usually ask us for help.
@@parryyotter I suppose that would be a different situation if you have a lot of immigrant families. Students born in the USA are more attuned to the culture than their parents who are trying to keep up.
Many of my students have grandparents who are immigrants, by rarely is it both of their parents.
Omg - I’m a teacher and this hit hard. I’m laughing so hard I’m crying. TSSIDAHN!
Fellow teachers, Y’all can set Kahoot to give the students pregenerated names. Don’t be forgetting it
Side Note: Support Staff and Teachers hang in there! Peace!
All of this is 100% perfection. I wish it wasn’t but this is our reality.
This is my life. Our substitute attendance clerk has a sub now and when I told an angry parent that she said “I don’t believe you.” A girl gleefully videoed a fight so got her phone confiscated and the parents are mad at the school. A girl called her own Mom a b!t€h in the office because the Mom came to get her phone the daughter took. The Mom did nothing. Middle School is not for the weak and I’m so done this year. Y’all won!
As a middle school sub, this is spot-on
heaven help the *subs* -- teachers have it *BAD* and subs often get even *worse* if they try to do their jobs instead of simply keeping things on the stable side of total mayhem, via some measure to placate and please the student f-o-k-r-z 😆
Same here! I’ve got eight days left of a long-term middle school assignment, and if I make it through, it will be nothing short of a miracle. (Literally the only reasons that I haven’t walked out are the bonus I will get; concern for the health of the teacher I’m filling in for (she doesn’t need more stress); and plain stubbornness, because if I leave, the monsters win.)
Weird. Just had a conversation with a friend of mine two days ago and it oddly mirrored this sketch. Except it wasn't funny and she cried a little. First year teacher, so full of hope last year and she's broken. Dreams dashed upon the rocks of reality. This time next year, she'll be a communications officer at a correctional facility. At least she'll be making more money and won't have to work with children. She's looking forward to it.
As a teacher I approve this message 😂😂😂

I work in a school with sixth graders. This must have been written by a teacher. Dead on. It's the constantly changing TikTok slang for me. Skibidi Toilet? I don't know how these kids are all watching the same TikToks since there are millions and millions.
