I don’t know if that applies today so much. As a man I also think I’m subjected to a lot of standards, perhaps less than women but still.
@kingtutancamon3775 I really don't think you know half the things women deal with. Men look better with makeup too ( look at kpop) and yet women are expected to wear it daily or else they look too "plain" or "ugly". Women are expected to be much more in shape, have their hair always look nice, etc. I agree that men are judged on looks to some degree, but their personality and talents are taken a lot more into account than women's are. There is a really intense pressure for women regarding their looks that often causes women to undertake risky diets all just to lose a couple pounds. It's so bad...
@@kingtutancamon3775sounds like a typical male with privileges ….you won’t survive a day being a woman. We get periods for a week every month, for 45 years of our lives. PMS, cramps and all, still expected to work. We grow a literal human inside our bodies for 9 months, undergo excruciating pain to birth it, not to mention all that morning sickness, bloating and many more symptoms, weight gain, post depression, healing the wound, dealing with partners who demand intercourse before we are emotionally ready, who criticize our physique, who won’t put in his share of work to maintain a relationship / childcare/ domestic chore, also domestic abuse, all this and only 3 months paid maternity if you’re lucky. Yeah no !NCEL, you won’t ever survive being a woman. Keep ya coffin closed so that mountains of dust don’t pollute the air

@@rachelhart3531 They write it but the actors come in with ideas all the time. He was also in the airport musical sketch when Mulaney hosted a while back so he probably wanted to do it again.
I was thinking that somewhere somehow, John Mulaney definitely caused this. Gylenhall was straight up just doing Mr. Music from Sack Lunch Bunch.

@@jlasfIt's not a parody of Follies. or rather, it's hard to say what it is parodying because the original song is from the 1930s, but versions of it were later made for shows such as Follies, but also Singin' in the rain.

This sketch is an instant classic!! It pokes fun at society's double standard of what expectations for women v men beauty standard. Jake Gyllenhall singing such a silly song was such a surprise. Then to have all guys really playing up their "attributes" got me cracking up!!! Kenan hitting that note at the end reminded me of him as the lobster in the "Les Miz" diner bit!!!!
