20 years on SNL is absolutely incredible. No one will ever do a run like that. All the actors say after they leave is how much energy and time it took and how little they slept during their years there. Kenan is like the LeBron James of SNL. He's going to be in the same cast as his son or daughter one day LOL
I normally don’t get drawn into all the Variety actors on actors conversations because they’re strangers talking to one another and it feels too stiff, but Kenan and Heidi really vibe well with each another here and you can tell they’re having fun which feels like a breath of fresh air!
I don't really get drawn into new things because my life is miserable. I feel it's best to mention this to imply that this segment is normally not worth my time, but today, I see fit to watch it although I feel more compelled to mention that Variety actors on actors conversations aren't my thing. Good day.
Yeah he had to distance himself publicly because people were so use to seeing them both together. Keanans name for a long time was Keanan and Kel lol. But then all the sudden he started kicking with him again. But Kel is on record saying that Keanan was not speaking to him for a long time and personally felt he was distancing himself for publicity purposes but had no animosity about it.
@@anthonygordon9483 read Kenan's book, he does a really beautiful job discussing it all by the end, and what a special friendship they and their families have. Then you will have both perspectives, updated, since you read something Kel said publicly awhile back.
Kenan and Heidi-a comedic pair, Bringing laughter beyond compare. Kenan’s heart sparked from the start, Heidi’s style, a quirky art. Kenan’s candy dreams, a paycheck denied, Had “All That” fame and pride. Heidi’s characters, bold and bright, Her mother’s quirks, her comic light. From SNL laughs to Sunday cheer, Football dreams and barbecue near. Kenan’s drama waits in the wings, While Heidi’s wild humor sings. Together they end with laughter’s sway- Guiding us forward, come what may.
Keenans smirk whenever he comes on screen in skits is so contagious and heartwarming. I'd LOVE to see him in a dramatic role. I could totally see him giving an Oscar worthy performance if he had a role where he could show his full range of emotion.
I remember that sketch where Hiedi said she flopped. I think it was the audience that night because i was at home " cracking " up. She really nailed that character.
Kenan, I'm ready to see you killin' it in a dramatic role. I'm not a big fan of straight up pure drama genre, but some of the drama productions that straddle genres are some of my favorites.
Heidi made a great point about why he could reach some people in the feels despite any inclination to always see him as a comedian, even if he's not doing a bit.
I feel like if I met kenan I would develop the biggest crush on him. handsome, smart, talented, grounded enough to have been in this industry and snl this long, respected and looked up to by his peers…he’s that dude
This was very sweet. I do a tiny bit of stage acting and boy is it hard when you kind of expect a beat in your scene to elicit a certain response from the audience and you only hear crickets. Apparently, I never actually hear the audience ever because castmates will tell me after that there was a big response when all I heard was the sound of silence.
Cant believe I used to be a kid growing up watching young Kenan on Nickelodeon! It sure has been a long time! I technically didnt know he was in Mighty Ducks and I mustve seen that when I was just a few years old, I had a Mighty Ducks birthday cake one year also.
There is something casually very attractive about Heidi. I find her very funny, and she can do drama when she wants to. It helps that she is so normal and was once a hairdresser.
The moments that Keenan played the Mobster in The Game sketch let me see he could be very good at drama. Couple of moments there made me stand up and take notice. Give it a watch.
Gotta love those two gems, been watching SNL for so long, and I am from Norway! The energy and good vibe they both individually seems to have, and maybe also still express to us all even on days that are not. I listen when Keenan says he want to try other sides of drama, however making people laugh is a gift of so many levels imho, but of course understandable professionally as well as after 20+ years on the cast of SNL. Thx for just being a positive side of my small nordic life!
I found it interesting when Kenan said he wanted to do dramatic roles. That's exactly what I thought he should do when watched the basketball playground skit where he portrayed a basketball coach who turned father figure to a troubled high school player. His role was serious throughout and he excelled in it. Amazing talent 👏🏽
Not gonna lie, if Kenan was in a dramatic roll, I would eat that ish up! Some of the best dramatic actors are most known for their comedy, Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, Eddie Murphy, Etc. In fact, as an elder millennial and life long fan of Kenan, I demand it!!!
Andy Samberg was initially worried about accepting his role in Lee because he thought that his face may distract the audience from the film's subject matter (I heard him say that in an interview with Seth Meyers a few weeks ago). But he is just amazing in the film!
Snl tried to introduce the new crew but because this crew did so well is going to be near impossible, congrats to this crew for making it so hard to fill the shoes
This was amazing. I never saw kenan in this light before. Although I’ve seen him around NYC driving his Bentley or some amazing luxe car. And for the record cocaine Lady was hilarious!
I watching famous 80s cocaine wife carla several times a year. It's an amazing bit. It's just one of those thing that was lost on the live audience. It's kind of a deep-cut film nerd reference (80s-00s crime movies like scarface, american hustle, casino, etc), and the live audience responds better to more contemporary references.
Awww I love Kenan so much I think you just have to have a lot of setup for a dramatic roll to get people in the right headspace-maybe some prosthetics like Steve Carell did.
Its crazy that so many people are hating on jack black. He projected and protected that particular corner of comedy so well for so long. These two are really great
Think Kenan would be amazing in the right dramatic role - for the same reason Jim Carrey was in the Truman Show or Eternal Sunshine. Comedians are versatile legends 🙌

makes me so happy that kenan and kel are lifelong friends

Uncle Fester
I will never be bored of either one of these people. You two stay as long as you like. You're ok by me.
Agreed.
Love that Kenan and Kel are still going strong!
Read Kenan's book. You'll probably love it too.

Kenan is rock solid and I can't imagine SNL without him. I'm kinda in love with Heidi. She doesn't have to do much to make me laugh.
They're both my current favorites for sure. And they have been for a long time.
'Young lady.' That was so adorable.
She is so adorable.
Kenan is the glue of SNL.❤🎉😮😅😊😂
Your Busy Coworker is one of the best Update Characters...it's soooo perfect.

Neither will be cast in modern movies.

There is something casually very attractive about Heidi. I find her very funny, and she can do drama when she wants to. It helps that she is so normal and was once a hairdresser.
That’s she is conventionally attractive?
Not really expecting Kenan to see this, but man, you were my favorite character in D2. I loved you, man.
I love Heidi Gardner so much
The moments that Keenan played the Mobster in The Game sketch let me see he could be very good at drama. Couple of moments there made me stand up and take notice. Give it a watch.
These two seem so grounded. Love them both! Let Kenan do drama!! I'll watch that!
This was such a honest and fun interview. Love them both.
Kenan is my childhood ❤
One of the better celeb on celeb interviews. Two of my favorite cast members and they seem like kind soul in the realz world.
I adore these two but Kenan has literally been in my life almost the whole time (born in 89)
5:43 Truly a gift to us ALL, we love y’all together 🎉🎉❤ ❤🎉🎉No Diddy
Kenan comes off as a humble, authentic guy.

Heidi and Kenan so splendid🎉🤍
As if I couldn’t love Heidi enough, her first thought seeing Jables on SNL is “Airborne.” She’s the best
Heidi: Let it loose, girl! You ARE funny and BLOSSOMING!! Don’t hold back. It’s YOUR time!!!!
Time to watch The Mighty Ducks!🦆❤🦆❤🦆❤🦆❤🦆
This was fantastic. More of these. Love SNL no matter how many people want to s on it.
The only pair that ive watched from start to finish
Heidi Gardner mentioned Airborne @ 9:02, I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about that movie, one of my favs back in the day
really great interview
2 legends right there!
Heidi is a GODDESS
4:25 it wasn't a flop, it was astonishing acting. I think everyone's jaws were just on the floor
Heidi’s characters always feel like real-life people, it’s so true

I like Heidi even more after seeing this
Lol, I love it when she has to take the kids and go to her sista's 😂
didn't know it but I wanted this interview... thanks Internet
This was fantastic
Love these two!
I love love Heidi gardner😍😍🤩
Kenan is going to replace Lorne. It literally hit me in this interview.
Was thinking the same thing. I mean what are they going to do, bring in someone new when Kenan is right there?
I loved the cocaine lady skit!
thank you for this segment
They're both great
Love both of them! They shined in the Tik Tok skit recently.
80’s cocaine lady was great I think the acting was superb, it was just more dramatic than comedic
Nah, it was extremely lame and tryhard.
Adore them both!
Heidi you did not FLOP!
Nice interview. 😊
Became a fan of Kenan after watching his tv show "Kenan". It was a good show, imo.
Snl tried to introduce the new crew but because this crew did so well is going to be near impossible, congrats to this crew for making it so hard to fill the shoes
He makes me laugh after the first sentence he gets out!
I think his time on “All That” got him prepared and ready for his time on SNL
That was very good..
This was amazing. I never saw kenan in this light before. Although I’ve seen him around NYC driving his Bentley or some amazing luxe car. And for the record cocaine Lady was hilarious!
Agreed. I laughed so hard on 80’s cocaine lady segment. Heidi is incredibly funny🤣🤣

Petition to get Kenan a dramatic role! Honestly, I would so love to see that.
love these two❤
heidi’s character work is a bunch of chefs’ kisses kissing each other
Got to put it out there. Heidi Gardner is an attractive women and she's funny
Kenan does not age at all....dude literally has been part of my childhood...Heidi has such a Valley voice haha
We want to see Kenan in a dramatic role!
Its crazy that so many people are hating on jack black. He projected and protected that particular corner of comedy so well for so long.
These two are really great
something something long enough villain something something
I love them both but Keenen has my heart.
I thought Heidi said in a very broad American accent that she worked at "Misérables" and I was like wow the musical got a food franchise?
Think Kenan would be amazing in the right dramatic role - for the same reason Jim Carrey was in the Truman Show or Eternal Sunshine. Comedians are versatile legends 🙌
Kenan is my easy bet for taking over SNL when the great Mr. Lorne Michaels retires.
She said it best about Kel
@bettyblu
Keenan, I (and MANY others) have always known you would be an AMAZING dramatic actor...do it!!!❤✌👏
Never knew Kenan had a star.
Heidi is so beautiful...
She’s always been beautiful
Heidi is capable of dark comedy and drama. Sometimes the crowd goes quiet when they realize she can go dark.
Yes. I think that's why people stopped laughing during that cocaine wife bit... she was too real!
I want Keenan to just never retire.
Just go full George Burns and never stop performing.
I can see Kenan being a Robin Williams level dramatic/comedic actor. I hope he gets the chance. Maybe gotta start small in independent movies.
4:41 I LOVED 80s cocaine wife!
I remember cracking up at her 80s cocaine wife bit!
25 Seasons.
Kenan: Really? (It doesn't show in my paycheck?)
Kansas City in the building.
Heidi's a Kansas Citian❤
I'm going to be so depressed when K leaves SNL he is the anchor
Give Kenan a drama role!
Thats it i am taking my kids to my sister's 😂
Awww… love her! I thought 80s Cocaine Wife was hilarious!
Just have Heidi get Keenan on Shrinking.
8:05 yeah, he’s right. As soon as his face appears
❤❤❤
