AND THIS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IS AN ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST WORTHY TOUR. What an absolute breath of fresh air this was. Might not be everyone’s style but true design lovers can fully appreciate the attention to detail and how true they stayed to the bones of the house while still bringing it into the 21st century. IN LOVE. Pls no more white empty basketball player mansions that have been staged just for the show
Finally, an AD house tour with a real sense of personalised taste and associated design to that taste. Her space is a clear representation of her and it is imaginative, creative and showcases design details like no other AD tour.
No way she spent more than two hours in that house. This villa is probably for sale and she is just presenting it. All those shoes are brand new and unworn. There are three "personalized" objects scattered around he house. This is nothing but a well done commercial.
It's SO nice to see a celebrity show this much love for their hometown! There is nothing pretentious or fake about her. I love it! NYC and LA aren't the only places in the US worth living.
If someone actually cooks in that kitchen, I feel bad for whomever has to clean the thousands of crevices in that mirrored hood. Clearly she either has a very hardworking housekeeper or her mom is not the only one who doesn't cook.
haha same here. girl is living her best life. as someone who grow up with toxic family, it always kind of sting to see someone so loved by their parents, but at the same time im happy for her. parental love is the biggest flex.
This specific style and era is soooo difficult to pull off without looking tacky and/or kitschy. This house is super high end and edited and chic. Aboslute A+!
When this video came into my RUclips, I clicked to watch assuming that this is another SNL sketch. Felt scammed that this isn't SNL but now I'm hooked. Also, now I see another side of Heidi which make me love her even more. She's not only super talented, but has this humble-girl-next-door vibe and has amazing taste. And now I know that she's another cat lady!!! What's not to love?!
I love that she made it into something that soothes her soul. It’s not for everyone, but I can appreciate the thought she has put into it and that she created something to enjoy with her family and friends. They did a great job with the entire design!
I have that exact print (9:07) in our downstairs bathroom. It's called, "wishin" and it was purchased by my mom at the Plaza art fair in the mid '70's. When she died I inherited the print. Mine is 15/100.
"I'm in the Boogie Nights house." 😂 Refrigerators and freezers are often hidden behind doors that match the rest of the cabinetry in homes and apartments here in Switzerland as well. I think it looks sooo much nicer that way. Heidi seems like a truly lovely soul and I really appreciate that she put so much of her own unique, personal style into the house rather than it looking too "cookie-cutter."
I don't know her ' cause I'm in Germany, but , wow, what a beautiful young lady and how funny that she so loves the 70s vibe ( was the time of my youth btw😉). The whole house and outside is absolutely stunning!! I love the disco- hood 😃 What a brilliant idea😅 The bathroom is sooo beautiful, and the kitchen with all this marble and, and and.... Just love it😊 Thanks for showing and all the best to Heidi🍀
This whole video has made me so happy. I think Heidi is the first Open Door I’ve seen where she’s just vibing and living her best life. There’s so much weird stuff and it’s so unapologetic. I love this for her and I don’t mean that sarcastically at all.
Was in no way expecting this whole combo of AD, Heidi, and this 70s vibe. This fellow Chiefs fan will be moving in… you know you need a house and cat sitter. I am most definitely your girl. And I love how you honor your parents. ❤ Gorgeous. 🪩
This Kansas City house is one of several in a particular neighborhood with what was called "California modern". I know exactly where this house is located, because my parents had nearly the same house in this particular neighborhood just down the street. This is a great update on the basic layout of these homes. Well Done!!!
I can remember seeing houses like this (ABSOLUTELY not updated!) when we were moving to Blue Springs in the mid 80s. I was kind of wondering where this was.
@@emeraldskyASMR There are a number of houses by this builder in the area, but the highest concentration is in Leawood/Overland Park, so this is most likely there.
That is one of the most beautiful countertop materials and design i've seen in a long time. That sink shape is just perfect and i'm totally copying that ledge on my next sink.
After a few decades off, I started watching SNL again last season. It’s better than ever, and Heidi is definitely my favorite cast member. That “all you can eat burger” sketch was wild! She’s so funny and INCREDIBLY beautiful!
Fantastic! I'm so happy for her! This place is so very her, and you can sense her joy in being in this space. Plus, she's not influence-y or snobby in any way and keeping things real and down-to-earth. Just a wonderful profile, and thanks to you and to her for producing this very uplifting piece for us.
My favorite AD house. Adding the window over the sink was huge. I hate the dark galleys that are in most MCM houses. This house must have been the most famous one in Kansas City.
her personality and the interior design match, the moment she says that any one can enjoy and use her bathroom and tub made me melt, she is so nice like her house
Oh I wouldn't ordinarily want to look at a celebrity's house but I clicked on this one! I really like Heidi -- she's talented and gorgeous but also seems really sweet and down-to-earth. I haven't finished watching yet but her house is very cool and I love the midcentury styling, she did a great job.
As if I couldn't love Heidi more! I love that she's not typical "spiritually blonde" midwestern stanley cup type 😂 I grew up and still live in a midcentury modern house that has been ravaged by bad design of the 80s and 90s and 2000s I really want to revive it so bad but I have limited funds. Watching these videos soothes my soul 😍
That's a great house. My grandparents custom built a mid-century modern house in Connecticut and I spent summers there. I've always loved the style. And I definitely see her Boogie Nights vibes too.
Oh. My. Goodness. Few things cause me to be speechless, but this house is designed so perfectly and design and architecture meld seamlessly. Well done…very well done!! 👏
I grew up in the 1960s and 1970s, and this hearkens back like a beautiful dream-however it doesn’t take me completely back to where I’m smelling stale cigarettes. Love it!!
Just when I think I have a favorite celebrity house, Heidi has to show this gem... I lived in KCMO briefly in the downtown area and I wish I could have lived in a place with all that green space!

Can’t agree more! Loved every bit of it and how happy, proud, emotional and grateful she seems!
yes! a breath of fresh air!
It's kitschy and contrived.
Oh-please, you are not the arbiter of what is or is not worthy of an AD tour.

i think she probably has the coolest taste i have ever seen. her interior designers did an amazing job
The architects are the real heros here!
Not all architects wear capes, but all heros do.
Amazing is overrated
I love mid-century and that's why I'm considering moving to Palm Springs because they have some of the best mid-century homes ❤❤
@@zoeyrochellezhombie829It may be overrated for you but not for the person who made the post. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

we love her here in kansas city. i went to elementary school with her
kc is kinda ideal - everywhere you'd want to go in the continental US is a 2 hour flight away
@@360.TapestryThe west coast is closer to 4 hours away by plane, but yes KC is pretty centrally located.
I love the way she talks about her parents. It looks like they set the foundation for her to be confident and stylish. Great house.
the disco hood?????? i am in shock and awe - perhaps the coolest thing i've seen on this channel!
i feel robbed that they failed to show what it looks like at night

100% agree
This house is an 11 out of 10. Being a music lover, get as many of your dad's records as possible. Nothing like a great vinyl collection.
She said he had 10,000 albums! He must have done nothing but buy records. And I guess he numbered them all in the order that he bought them.
She seems so happy and grateful to be living in this house!! It's contagious, I dont know her but I'm so happy for her!😄
She's a regular on Saturday Night Live and super talented.
What a beautiful comment! So encouraging to hear someone feeling so happy for a stranger, just the best vibes ✨✨✨. Love it!
You should watch shrinking it's a very nice show and she's part of it.

Who would not be happy & grateful to live in such a luxurious & fancy house 😂
As a Kansas City resident, this tour makes me so happy! I love Heidi’s style and how she spotlighted several local artists and businesses!

Can't get enough of Mid century modern! This house is simple, elegant and still relevant.

the handpainted "marble" outlet cover in the kitchen was the coolest touch. what an awesome design team!
