      Then I am not the only one who has listened to this masterpiece way more times than I can honestly add up......
      Les Claypool is in my opinion the best bass player alive and I don't see anyone taking over the throne anytime soon.
      I listen to this jam session at least 4x a week and it used to be way more than that back in the day. It is awesome there is no further explanation required

    I think a lot of people bash Les Claypool and praises people like Victor Wooten mainly because Claypool acts so freaking weard while Victor Wooten appears to be a very normal, nice and humble person. if you ask me, I can't say that one is better than the other since they are so different, CLaypool is a trashhead, drawing attention mostly from people in the rock end of the music scale, while Wooten is a groovy guy who plays for a different audience altogether.

    That can be very true; I have neither Claypool nor Wooten live. But I think you misunderstood my last sentence (English isn't my native language so...). I didn't mean to say that les took away the attention from the other people he performs with, what I meant was that he attracted attention from a whole different audience than Wooten. That's why so many bash one of them and loves the other

  • @JEVentrillon
    @JEVentrillon 14 лет назад +1

    @jedynyiprawdziwyGomo anyone can always do better than someone else in their opinion. i have to admit sometimes les' playing isnt the best. but to me its his ideas that are what make him such a good bassist. also he's very good at turning what goes on in his brain ideawise in music on the spot. might not like it yourself but this is what he felt like playing that day and thats what ended up happening

    It happens to me from time to time as well, the key is to not try to "think" so much and just let the feeling of the music get to your fingers. Experience obviously helps the most too :-)
    Music is a a way of expression, so I try to think like that when I am playing.

  • @Azgoltzolxith
    @Azgoltzolxith 16 лет назад

    im not being arrogant.
    im just stating that bucket is not all that everyone makes him out to be.
    and your right, there were many great artists that never new what a diatonic triad is or what mode to use with a min6 chord. BUT these days it takes an educated individual to be able to make new music that is, well... good.
    and i know buckethead is good. i was merely commenting hes not the "god" that everyone thinks he is.
    the real gods are allan holdsworth, vai, and, wes montgomery.

      @@francohuber6386 I caught him live doing nunchuks once and saw Les join Praxis on stage at Bonnaroo one year and was mystified. So I bought some Praxis albums and dug deeper and my previous comment is what I concluded. From having my mind completely blown to being totally underwhelmed, I'm not sure I have experienced such a let down regarding music as that was. Bummed me out honestly, soooo much potential and such a cool idea. Maybe my KFC bucket expectations were unfair after those initial experiences. I'll backpeddle to 60% gimmick after further reflection. I just wanted more from him in the way of better and more enjoyable songs.
