I really like the idea of the video, but I dont think you are answering that question. The feeling I got throughout the video was ''What if Fortnite NEVER LEFT Chapter 1 map?", which is a whole different question and with that the video makes sense. Before answering the actual question, we need to understand what an update needs to be considered a different chapter (with the exception of the official title, of course). With that you could argue that they could still change the map and it would still be considered Chapter 1. Without putting much thought into it, I'd say that to be considered a new chapter, besides a map update, I'd argue it would also need a major change in the story (the end event for instance), major changes to the core gameplay of the game, major changes to the overall design, look, and feel of the game. So yeah, imagine if we did get map changes, but the gameplay, items, and guns would be similar to Chapter 1. Then we can actually start answering the question. Imagine Chapter 5, but the guns are all hitscans, we dont have the crazy mythics and super hero stuff, all the 3D models have that Tim Burton look to it, there are no cars, the battle pass is not tied to your level, etc...
another reason why og fortnite was more rigid was because a realistic game would not be able to gain as much traction because every other game is realistic. the style they went for with fortnite being kind of geometrical and less smooth/rounder edges solidified an identity for the game. not necessarily because it didnt have enough time to release.
We would have probably skipped a New World and go straight into Spies ch2 s2 but on ch1, then go to ch2 s3, then ch2 s4, then ch2 s5, then ch2 s6, then ch2 s7, then ch2 s8, then skip ch3 s1 and combine it with ch3 s2, then ch3 s2, then ch3 s3, ch3 s4, then Oathbound, then ch4 s2 Mega, the ch4 s3 Wilds, then ch4 s4, then ch5 s1 Underground, then ch5 s2 Myths & Mortals, then ch5 s3 Wrecked, and then ch5 s4 Absolute Doom but obviously all these seasons wouldn't be called these different chapters it would just be ch1 and then a season number that's how I think this would have happened
I would imagine, if all events, all map changes, converted into the chapter 1 map, in order that they happened with chapters, after a few seasons, there would just be a new map, everything once recognizable. Oh! A new heaven and hell area with new poi's replacing old ones, then a sandy area that replaces more, cool!
i love the og bc it more like a game and less realistic, and the fact that it was simple and rough made it awesome and i’d give up all the new for the old.
Chapter 2 S2-5 is actually the best stretch of Fortnite ever. Content was fresh and fun, everybody wasn’t too sweaty but they weren’t so trash that you’d just have no difficulty or challenge. Graphics peaked, player interactions increased from C1S5-SX (people actually didn’t really like those seasons back when they came out).
its so crazy that the game has been out so long to the point where chapter 1 season 10 is considered OG. I started playing at the very tail end of season 1/season 2 and back then I wasn't even considered OG because I didn't really play season 1. But now, most people who have played fortnite didnt play season 1 or 2 or even 3. Maybe im blinded by nostalgia but seasons 1-4 were easily the greatest fortnite ever was and I think that anyone who played back then will agree. There was something so special about the vibe and atmosphere of fortnite back then, it was scary, intense, everyone was bad, the game was unpolished but the simplicity of the gameplay was what made it great. Now the game is so overcomplicated. Its really just insane to me that the game has survived this long because I stopped maining fortnite around season 8-9 of chapter 1.
I started playing just a few days before Season 2 released. All of my friends were playing it but I absolutely hated the game at first lol -- I was a COD guy. I definitely agree with the simplicity. The game was so different from everything else and that's really what got me invested. My opinion on this video is based on purely mechanical differences between Fortnite then and now. I still love old Fortnite and believe it's truly the peak of gaming.
I would take Ch1 over Ch5 everytime, Ch5 is the biggest downgrade of Fortnite ever, they took a shit on the graphics, the map is bad and buggy, even the OG map worked better in Zero Build , the bullet drop system also sucks ass, rarity almost has no meaning anymore because you need to switch a gold weapon without scope to a green weapon with scope if you find it because sweats will camp the weapon bunkers and the medaillons are also stupid af because the best players in the lobby will get even more unbeatable and cars are tanks, boats and offroad vehicles at the same time. Ch5 is a 2/10 max for me, i cant wait for it to be over.
i miss the storyline, the UI, but most importantly the sounds and look and aesthetic of that game it’s not nostalgia blinding me but the game itself in early seasons feels like nostalgia in an of itself the game was peaceful i think that’s what a lot of people look over upon on. every BR is loud and hectic but that game in the beginning was peaceful it was so calming to me to hear all the little noises and the ambience was just beautiful the colors were so articulated i love that game so much
Honestly, I like chapter 1, not for the nostalgia or any other reason the reason why I like it it’s cause I feel like the textures are a little bit more crispy like bring on the old textures and the new texture side-by-side that would be the best texture we have today I also like how it had cool death animation where is all the death animations anymore or where is that cool death animation you just die and turn into pixels you don’t die and like fall on the ground like in chapter 1 I also like tilted if tilted comes back in every map I would be happy. That’s the only reason I also like chapter 1 in general tilted is my baby. I don’t care about anything else in chapter 1. I hate all the maps other than tiltedand I believe that was in every single map in chapter 1. I know we had a neon tilted I think or the futuristic tilted and I think I think it was like season X I believe but yeah I don’t mind you re-changing tilted. I’m just saying I like tilted that’s the only thing I care about I don’t care about going back to older maps, I rather move onto the but I want the future to have tilted
😮 🤔😵🤯 Also.. what happened to Limited time Game Modes!?? Floors Lava Catch, Slide, High Explosives Blits, One Shot, and the Block was such a dope idea why we not any of theese NE more😢 !?!?!?
I feel like if they never did chapters instead of the black hole they would make a giant explosion with the same concept after 2 days thw game would be back but with a MASSIVE map change ex: The snow is gone bc of the explosion the volcano has lava but its purple and the lazy lagoon is steamy stacks sweaty sands takes over the moisty mires section a bunch of buildings are destroyed lazy lake and og tilted towers fuse taking neo tilteds place junk the middle turns into the peaceful lil island from chapter 2 junction turns into slurpy swamp lonley lodge is weeping woods and lucky landing turns into misty meadows or smth like that ion know
In my personal opinion. I want a map like chapter 1. Where there isn’t all these crazy poi’s. I just want little towns and what not and a simple map. With simple loot pools. And change the map every year to something similar and simple. And have the outrageous things as game modes.
I enjoyed chapter 1 because it was fun. I liked that it was rough around the edges and wasnt perfect. It gave the game character. Im not saying I didnt have fun with the newer seasons but new fortnite reeks of high competitiveness and corporate greed.
I love chapter 1 and 2 because they had the original fortnite style, but now it's more of a free fire style or some asian plagiarism of fortnite without a soul((
Season OG kinda proved that fortnite was a better game in chapter 1, the map maybe wasnt given time in season 1 but your forgetting the other 9 seasons they took to fully flesh out and expand the map, chapter 2 was a longer chapter yet that map lacked the staying power and the items from that chapter were very dull and lacking aside from season 7, chapter 3 and 4 arent even worth mention cause they both peaked in season 1 and got worse (aside from ch4s4) I used to think chapter 1 was only good for nostalgia but season OG just kinda proved that wasnt even the case, the game actually had an identity and you can see it with any of the ch1 maps season 3 and onward
I mean, there is one way to fix it in this case, after the blackhole event, it shows it is the chapter 1 season X map, but different, it has proper rivers and lakes you can swim in, better terrain, all that
I'm just saying there should be an option to play c1s3 or c1s4 and also add again the 50vs50, I would even pay for it not kidding (if its not empty tho)
The nostalgia that people have for chapter 1 was prompted because of how fun it was to play. If chapter 1 wasn't fun then nobody would have nostalgia for it. I think when people say others are "blinded by nostalgia" they are just wrong and ignorant to reasoning.
7:01 For me, its not about the nostalgia or old times sake. But, the impossibility to play this game for fun. Back in the first seasons of chapter 1, the gameay wasn't as fast paced and pretty much everyone sucked. Which allowed to play for the win with friends while allowing space to goof off. But nowadays, that's impossible. Maybe because we got really good in the game, but I recall fortnite was putting LITERAL PRO PLAYERS in my lobbies (I was matched against Gambit Toose and MrSavage). It made playing for fun mathematically impossible. Like I said many times to my friends, fortnite should have a separate mode where persons could play only with AIs, and maybe regolate their strenght too. That way, people can still goof off even if they are getting mechanically better. In conclusion, competitve killed the fun from this game.
7:02 I have to disagree for two reasons: the game felt FRESH (innovative and recently released) and FUN. Everybody being bad at the game (or decent at best apart from streamers) meant that you didn't have to tryhard to win and master the latest mechanics.
they definitely needed to leave chapter 1 the map was so cramped even if they reset whats on the map it wouldve been boring, but what they didnt need to do is abandon the artstyle for realism, chapter 2 was awesome because it was still fortnite just a new chapter now the game just isnt fortnite
Idk man the game went strong for it's first 3 years of release and that was during Chapter 1 So I mean Maybe it wouldn't get stale but who knows I mean people still play Red Dead Redemption 2 and Rocket League and stuff
everytime people complain how Chapter 1 was the only time the game was good and how we should still be on that map I always think how it would probably be unrecognizable after another 5-10 seasons and will soon have no “OG locations” anyways
I think the question was what do you think the Ch1 map would look like if they stayed in ch1? Like having all of the seasons that happened on the different chapters on the chapter 1 map
One thing that I like about chapter 1 of things which should return are traps and I liked how they did guns in chapter 2 with og weapons and season themed weapons as alternate choices to fit the theme which I miss and I miss hitscan chapter 5 is the worst for me because of that
I think a lot of your points aren't "What if season 11 wasn't a whole new map" and is instead "What if Fortnite never got updated." Even if they never did chapters the map would still be signifigantly different enough for OG to be popular. They still would've had bigger events because they were consistently getting bigger and bigger throughout chapter 1. Cars and swimming still could've been added eventually, especially cars since they literally already had vehicles in chapter 1.
If Fortnite stayed in chapter one then there would be problems. First one is that there would be know new map each chapter. Not only that, we might not have gotten new features like cars, swimming, etc.
The new movement really ruined the game for me, its too complicated, for any input it plain is, you go foward you jog, you press shift you sprint, you jump near something you climb all over it, you try and crouch while moving you slide
They should've stayed in chapter 1 season 4. And give Fortnite the CS:GO treatment. Balance patches, with very few content added. The gameplay loop of season 4 was perfect, actually as addictive as some drugs tbh. But yeah, I do agree that there were other great times, like season 7 and 8 were fun, but season 3 and 4 is where it is at for me, and the simplicity of season 2 was great as well
Your take on saying that chapter 1 was worse I cant agree on. I cant play Fortnite consistently in the state it is in now. When the chapter 1 og season came out I played non-stop. I like the weapons, the poi's the look/style way more than anything else they have done with the game. And that is NOT nostalgia talking
Honestly if epic wanted too they could create a separate game not a gamemode another free game that lets player's decide what season of chapter 1 they want to play you would still have the regular game with your account but in the new game you could create a new account and you could buy og skins but they wouldn't come to your normal fortnite account that way you could play chapter 1 permanently
I think they are doing a very good thing with giving us only 3 out of 8 seasons in the next og season because now they can do another og season from chapter 2 but with season 5-8 or something. They can also do another og season from chapter 1 but change it, maybe ad something new or change few locations
This is not meant to be rude in anyway but heres the thing the only reason people care about fortnite chapter 1 is because of the map and simplicity and what not but people arent use to new metas every season and chapter and i can agree epic should slow down a bit but heres what people fail to consider if chapter 1 happend now and we had say chapter 3's map as the first map and we spend 10 seasons on that then go to a diffrent map like chapter 2 4 or 5 then have chapter 1 in the present as in now people would look at it diffrently because i think no matter what map we start with people would always be nostolgic for the first map wether it be chapter 5 4 3 2 or 1 and another point you said that fortnite would have died if it did not leave chapter 1 that is 1000% true that being because if we were in chapter 1 now the map would still look like how we have the chapter 5 map but for some reason people dont understand that change is important for a games life like even if we hate the metaverse modes and what not we have to admit those will add to the games life because sometime down the line the br genre will die but fortnite wouldnt because by then we would see something no video game has ever done and thats having mutiple games in at once at no i dont mean like roblox i mean like having lego rocket racing festival disney and whatever comes next in 1 single game and to be 100% honest i dont think epics plan was to have fortnite as a game but it was to start it out as that and then make it become a platform if yk what i mean
I understand this but I think the reason a lot of people like chapter 1 and 2 is because it never strayed from its roots obviously it would add new stuff and mechanics but it wouldn’t take too much away from it a lot of the skins and emotes people get hyped for are icon and anime and that’s fine but it feels like everything is in Fortnite now and people are starting to realise that everything is like a advertisement like I get the new meta and guns every season because that happened before like planes and other guns like smgs and shotguns sure Fortnite as a idea has stayed the same with different modes and a f2p model but Fortnite as a game has gone too far from the original which is good for evolution but they don’t do much for there original audience I had a friend recently come back after last playing in chapter 3 s2 and he said it felt like they was trying to sell u more stuff now and that they are doing way to much with the game now which I believe is right I don’t mind the map changing I believe it’s good I kinda just wish Fortnite seasons was longer with small updates instead of it having 5 seasons then a reset to put it short I think as a game Fortnite is fun but that’s only because there is a lot to do at the start once u played each mode like Lego and racing for a hour it feels boring yes u can grind the battle pass or challenges and obviously play the game modes others play but then I’m not playing Fortnite br I’m playing Roblox I didn’t have a problem with creative mode in cp1 and 2 because it was separate from battle royal and save the world but it just feels like the other modes that people create are getting more attention in the battle royal mode instead of creative if you get what I mean tldr Fortnite stopped being a game and started being a ad for player created games and company’s seasons has gotten shorter and overall the mechanics they add are great but the overall aspect is very different from when it started
moving chapters was a smart choice chapter 2 was better than chapter 1 story, lore, weapons, maps, charcters, skins, funny moments, and gameplay chapter 2 season 1,2,3,4 are all really good the problem is that fortnite is just getting older and people are growing away from fortnite
Nah concerts would've been better. Creative was made in season 7 with the block. And their engine would of still been upgrading, since epic games is a gaming company who made other great games. All im asking is for the art style b ack and the cartoony map graphics.
I wouldve just wanted them to stay in chapter 2 and chapter 1 those maps are genuinely so nice and gave os many memories but thhe rest of the maps i wont say their bad but their kinda midd
Over all fortnite is a better game now. Its got really cool mechanics that have been developed over time and I think people who say its crap now and chapter 1 season 1 og is the best just dont really have a grasp on what makes for good gaming. yes I have a lot of great memories on the ps4 and xbox one playing with mates and dropping tilted. it was great. but the game would have died if it stayed like that.

That's a good point. I'll be sure to mention more things other than just the map in future videos of this format. Thank you for the feedback! :)
bro wrote an essay
another reason why og fortnite was more rigid was because a realistic game would not be able to gain as much traction because every other game is realistic. the style they went for with fortnite being kind of geometrical and less smooth/rounder edges solidified an identity for the game. not necessarily because it didnt have enough time to release.
The battle royale storyline would still be attached to save the world
We would have probably skipped a New World and go straight into Spies ch2 s2 but on ch1, then go to ch2 s3, then ch2 s4, then ch2 s5, then ch2 s6, then ch2 s7, then ch2 s8, then skip ch3 s1 and combine it with ch3 s2, then ch3 s2, then ch3 s3, ch3 s4, then Oathbound, then ch4 s2 Mega, the ch4 s3 Wilds, then ch4 s4, then ch5 s1 Underground, then ch5 s2 Myths & Mortals, then ch5 s3 Wrecked, and then ch5 s4 Absolute Doom but obviously all these seasons wouldn't be called these different chapters it would just be ch1 and then a season number that's how I think this would have happened
what if every chapter hat 10 seasons, new yt idea
we'd be in Chapter 4 rn lol
What if fortniye never had collabes like marvel/DC
I would imagine, if all events, all map changes, converted into the chapter 1 map, in order that they happened with chapters, after a few seasons, there would just be a new map, everything once recognizable.
Oh! A new heaven and hell area with new poi's replacing old ones, then a sandy area that replaces more, cool!
Feel like the map would be alot bigger but the game would probably still be struggling as people at the time really wanted a new map
Exactly! I think people forget the begging from players for a new map in Season X lol
@@prozeroSeason X Players: PLEASE GIVE US AN ACTUALLY NEW MAP

I personally miss the chapter 1 art style. I of course miss the original map of chapter 1 however chapter 1-3 are the last time I enjoyed the map.
i love the og bc it more like a game and less realistic, and the fact that it was simple and rough made it awesome and i’d give up all the new for the old.
@@KyushaNeverKnowsBest I agree
its so crazy that the game has been out so long to the point where chapter 1 season 10 is considered OG.
I honestly think chapter 1 was the best because of the simplicity and the cartoonish feel to it
I agree 100%. But my favorite is OG Season because it still has the updates, but with the nostalgic look and feel, guns, etc.

i liked the old fortnite it was more cartoony and funny then now where its more realistic
L take.

i miss the storyline, the UI, but most importantly the sounds and look and aesthetic of that game it’s not nostalgia blinding me but the game itself in early seasons feels like nostalgia in an of itself the game was peaceful i think that’s what a lot of people look over upon on. every BR is loud and hectic but that game in the beginning was peaceful it was so calming to me to hear all the little noises and the ambience was just beautiful the colors were so articulated i love that game so much
i’m hoping that chapter 6 implements just an aspect of the cartoony style… sort of like chapter 4 i feel like chapter 5 went too far on the realism
CS been same game for 25yrs it never died same could be said for fortnite it was perfect.
😮 🤔😵🤯 Also.. what happened to Limited time Game Modes!?? Floors Lava Catch, Slide, High Explosives Blits, One Shot, and the Block was such a dope idea why we not any of theese NE more😢 !?!?!?
I feel like if they never did chapters instead of the black hole they would make a giant explosion with the same concept after 2 days thw game would be back but with a MASSIVE map change ex:
The snow is gone bc of the explosion the volcano has lava but its purple and the lazy lagoon is steamy stacks sweaty sands takes over the moisty mires section a bunch of buildings are destroyed lazy lake and og tilted towers fuse taking neo tilteds place junk the middle turns into the peaceful lil island from chapter 2 junction turns into slurpy swamp lonley lodge is weeping woods and lucky landing turns into misty meadows or smth like that ion know
In my personal opinion. I want a map like chapter 1. Where there isn’t all these crazy poi’s. I just want little towns and what not and a simple map. With simple loot pools. And change the map every year to something similar and simple. And have the outrageous things as game modes.
The island would be so cluttered of chaos and collabs would sink the island😭
video idea: what if Fortnite was only save the world

probably wouldn't have lasted as long as it had
ch2 could be better if covid never happened
@@namecciano4518bro what😅
@@usualbreak7013 bro is true, they worked at home during 2020 and some seasons got changed or longer
Honestly, I'm perfectly fine with new maps. I just miss the old style and overall feel of the game. I want that back more than anything else honestly.
The reason why it was so quick to create Battle Royale was because Save the World was in development since 2011
I enjoyed chapter 1 because it was fun. I liked that it was rough around the edges and wasnt perfect. It gave the game character. Im not saying I didnt have fun with the newer seasons but new fortnite reeks of high competitiveness and corporate greed.
Bros finna start ww3 with that controversial opinion @ 6:51 🙏🙏☠️☠️
Im just saying if they do an "OG" for chapter 3... it should simply be a Mashup of chapters 3 and 4!
In short, Fortnite chapters is our canon event
I love chapter 1 and 2 because they had the original fortnite style, but now it's more of a free fire style or some asian plagiarism of fortnite without a soul((
Season OG kinda proved that fortnite was a better game in chapter 1, the map maybe wasnt given time in season 1 but your forgetting the other 9 seasons they took to fully flesh out and expand the map, chapter 2 was a longer chapter yet that map lacked the staying power and the items from that chapter were very dull and lacking aside from season 7, chapter 3 and 4 arent even worth mention cause they both peaked in season 1 and got worse (aside from ch4s4)
I used to think chapter 1 was only good for nostalgia but season OG just kinda proved that wasnt even the case, the game actually had an identity and you can see it with any of the ch1 maps season 3 and onward
Simple answer: The game would be fun and actually good.
What if Fortnite never got any updates just the game with the same guns and stuff
so the takeaway from this video is the game would be stale and OG seasons wouldn’t be as fun. yeah i’d still take this over whatever chapter 5 is
Just wish they kept the cartoony style
they still can do this by rebooting the game entirely starting fresh but everyone keeps their skins etc
The game would be better than current
The nostalgia that people have for chapter 1 was prompted because of how fun it was to play. If chapter 1 wasn't fun then nobody would have nostalgia for it. I think when people say others are "blinded by nostalgia" they are just wrong and ignorant to reasoning.
7:01
For me, its not about the nostalgia or old times sake.
Ironically i got an ad for the chapter 2 remix, prolly cause all the data youtube has of me and what im watching but ironic nontheless
Lol
7:02 I have to disagree for two reasons: the game felt FRESH (innovative and recently released) and FUN. Everybody being bad at the game (or decent at best apart from streamers) meant that you didn't have to tryhard to win and master the latest mechanics.
they definitely needed to leave chapter 1 the map was so cramped even if they reset whats on the map it wouldve been boring, but what they didnt need to do is abandon the artstyle for realism, chapter 2 was awesome because it was still fortnite just a new chapter now the game just isnt fortnite
Idk man the game went strong for it's first 3 years of release and that was during Chapter 1
So I mean
Maybe it wouldn't get stale but who knows
I mean people still play Red Dead Redemption 2 and Rocket League and stuff
Season 82 is insane
They should’ve kept it where every 10 seasons a new chapter comes out when they stopped that I lost all desire to play the game regularly
everytime people complain how Chapter 1 was the only time the game was good and how we should still be on that map I always think how it would probably be unrecognizable after another 5-10 seasons and will soon have no “OG locations” anyways
What if fortnite never left chapter 1:
Fortnite would actually be good.
*Realizes they aren’t getting peak player count by progressing the chapter*
* ends chapter 5 after season 1*
Chapter 1 had that angular 3d models which were cool
Honestly if epic wanted too they could create a separate game not a gamemode another free game that lets player's decide what season of chapter 1 they want to play you would still have the regular game with your account but in the new game you could create a new account and you could buy og skins but they wouldn't come to your normal fortnite account that way you could play chapter 1 permanently
"Life could be dream" song starts playing
I think they are doing a very good thing with giving us only 3 out of 8 seasons in the next og season because now they can do another og season from chapter 2 but with season 5-8 or something. They can also do another og season from chapter 1 but change it, maybe ad something new or change few locations
If there was only one chapter it'd be like a ship of Theseus kind of thing
What if jonsey never left the io
They would have to move on cause the foundations for the game would be stuck in 2017 technology.
👇Like if you think Chapter 1 and 2 are the 🐐
If they never left chapter 1 I didn't have being playing for the last 4 years.
I would say it should stay in chapter 8 neo tilted didnt work and season x was awful map change alone
No way he said chapter 1 wasn't good.
moving chapters was a smart choice chapter 2 was better than chapter 1 story, lore, weapons, maps, charcters, skins, funny moments, and gameplay chapter 2 season 1,2,3,4 are all really good the problem is that fortnite is just getting older and people are growing away from fortnite
Nah concerts would've been better. Creative was made in season 7 with the block. And their engine would of still been upgrading, since epic games is a gaming company who made other great games.
All im asking is for the art style b ack and the cartoony map graphics.

I wouldve just wanted them to stay in chapter 2 and chapter 1 those maps are genuinely so nice and gave os many memories but thhe rest of the maps i wont say their bad but their kinda midd
fortnite still wouldve died like now cus epic games is way to lazy plus since donald mustard left the game died
