Man, THIS was the pinnacle of Audio Adrenaline. Between this album, DC Talk’s Supernatural album, Newsboys’ Step Up to the Microphone, and a host of others like Jars, The W’s, MXPX, Skillet, Chevelle, Dime Store Prophets, Smalltown Poets, and even Petra’s stuff, I never would’ve made it through Christian College. The RA’s couldn’t say a thing as we headbanged our way through the semester. But that was about the same time that WAY-FM in Nashville got bought up by a bunch of prudish investors and went totally soft. I truly miss the experimentally awesome days of late 90’s Christian Rock, Metal, and Ska.
These were good times in Christian music, Audio Adrenaline, DC talk, jars of clay, Newsboys. Only thing l really enjoy anymore is Skillet, and they have really changed up their style lately.
Skilket is amazing! My 2 teen daughters love them, too. They've heard all the best of the 90's Christian music. They ask, "Why doesn't the radio play DC Talk anymore? Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's not good!" 😆
Heard this song when I was younger, never got the actual concept of it till i was much older. It’s about how angels and demons are fighting for your soul, demons try to lead you astray, angels bringing you back to your senses. However it wasn’t until today i got the meaning of her being in the water. She was seeing the spirit realm that was fighting over her soul, and her coming up out of the water was her being baptized and dying to her old self. Amazing representation here guys 😊
The fast chorus, slow verse combination like the Pixies and Nirvana, with the eclectic singing and genre bending makes this song so good. I wish more Christian artists had this much authentic creativity.
Yes, I love the original band. The second version wasn't half bad, but the new version is NOT Audio A. They should almost name the original one Classic Audio Adrenaline, just to avoid confusion.
@@susantherestorer - Agreed. Classic Audio Adrenaline will always be Mark Stuart, Bob Herdman, Will McGinnis, Ben Cissell, Tyler Burkum, and Barry Blair.
Back in 03 my family and I saw Audio Adrenaline warming up for a concert at Disney World. I yelled from across the field, "Play Some Kind of Zombie!" They did not do it, but I still love them.
"Some Kind Of Zombie" I must have been confused or vain to let this evil in my brain. Lord did I enjoy the change that you made inside my heart? Oh here they come I'm not afraid there's no temptation I can't evade. Stand up straight look through the haze I begin to walk through the maze here they come they're all up on me but I'm dead to sin like some kind of zombie. I hear you speak and I obey some kind of zombie I walked away from the grave some kind of zombie I will never be afraid some kind of zombie I gave my life away. I'm obliged and obey I'm enslaved to what you say.
2021 still listening :) Exploring my past as I have strayed far and for far too long. Honestly, a random Chuck Missler video has saved my life for sure. God Bless you all and God Bless Audio Adrenaline!
I have myself lived knowing this song as some kind zombie.. returning to the fold. Jesus!! The just shall live by faith!! Nothing else matters eternal life
This song comes into my head many times when I am faced with some type of temptation! The song is very heavy, like all of the music I listened to when I was a kid in the seventies, but the lyrics are great as well! Thanks, guys, for recording and posting it!
something that we are all trying to learn is that in our professing as christians is that there can be no middle ground, its either we are truly following Him through His words or not, the scriptures do not deny the fact that our flesh struggles against the spirit (Rom. 7), but something that must be clear to us is that we have to undertsand that our appetites when contrary to God's should be identified for what they really are-- and from there we should make out our clear choice (Rev.3:15-16).
Mark Stuart mentioned at one of their concerts that this song scared a lot of people when it first came out. Now it's considered one of their most iconic songs.
and i still can get tired of listening to this... I remember getting together with friends from church, firing up the N64 and listening to this... Great song, great album!
Right after this album came out, I was taking my fiancé on a road trip to meet my grandparents. I put this album on and she said "How can you stand listening to that devil music??!??!" and I just had to laugh. Once she really listened to the words, she turned into AA's biggest fan.
Love your music. Blessed by your ministry for years. Some people don't like Southern Gospel. I do. But your music is a great alternative. Thankyou! Good Job😊
I ALWAYS thought this song and "album" were truly vastly underrated and the whole recording should've done far better than as was reported. It still remains 1 of my favorite cds from this period. Maybe it should be re-released or maybe this song at least. I really want to see them get more credit for this project.
I don't guess I've ever gotten to see this video all the way through - or at least, not to be able to pay attention. Nicely done symbolism and visually interesting. I think it fit the song perfectly.
My birthday just turned 59! 😊 I believe the Lord had enough of the some kind of zombie.. cancer hit pray anyone seeing this it doesn't take cancer to hit your knees and truly repent.. Jesus only Jesus!! ❤️❤️👍😁
These guys NEED more fans. Seriously, I agree with GutsLCF, they're so underrated! Except we sing "Big House" by them in confirmation all the time. Which is awesome. I heart them... Audio Adrenaline FTW!!!
Bloom is good, and it was their most successful album. The lyrics were powerful and their faith was apparent in every tune. It didn't have a heavy enough sound to be my favorite, but it's my second favorite for sure.
This era of AA is right up there with the secular heavy hitters of the '90s. Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Silverchair, all wrapped up in one. Even Alice In Chains and Nirvana are no better than this. AA was a powerhouse of a band, and I miss them so much. I'm so grateful I got to see Mark singing for them on the Lift tour with Third Day and Skillet circa '01. In recent news: they are apparently playing a show this weekend in South Texas, so maybe we could see another tour with Kevin Max one day. We can only hope and pray... The world needs AudioA right now.
So today I decided to check out some Christian Alternative Rock playlists and I run into this sparkling little jam right here and I absolutely 💯 love this!!!! I am going to learn the bass line and add this to our playlist for Church😊 Lol it is so funny the name of this song is Jesus Freak because odd as it has to be lol this is the name of our band☺ I was gonna ask to change our name to The Deciples lol but my band mates wanted to stay Jesus Freak which is totally cool with me like that was their name before they hired me so I'm not gonna mess with anything😊

Because those morals are a part of life. Forest never wavered. He stood by his friends and helped them through everything life threw at them. Since I have both of my legs and I wasn't sexually abused by my father, I have no idea how I would have turned. Life isn't all puppy dogs and rainbows. We all have flaws, but Forrest Gump still has a positive message and he unwavering friendship changed their lives.
There are so many ways in which this video could have gone horribly wrong. This could have either been really demonic (portraying people turning into zombies, which would have gone against the Christian message) or incredibly cheesy. In fact, the idea of having people dress in angel costumes and do ballet, in and of itself, was a risky move. But they put some effort into this video, and it certainly pays off. It turned out really well.

I remember seeing The Insyderz, FIF, Supertones and the W’s at KingdomBound 98 or 99! Good times.
Dan Baker yes, I had some influence on a few people... and ire of others.
came here to say as a former christian. this song, by this band, is great. take this how u want but i show this song to bar flies and they all love it
then i tell em it a christian song and they lose their minds

I agree. Skillet hasn't compromised though like many others.
Thei.music matured too like the rest of the bands you mentioned
Agreed, this is what put Christian music on the map. I miss the 90's lol

Proud to be a 17 year old female living in 2024, listening to audio a
I just want to take this comment to praise the Lord Jesus Christ and give Him thanks for music like this!
Heck yeah!
This is just a well written rock song. No denying that. It's too bad they were so underrated
I still jam this song in 2023! Always loved these guys! Miss yall!
Probably the darkest sounding AA song- it's nothing short of a masterpiece.
This is so!
The fast chorus, slow verse combination like the Pixies and Nirvana, with the eclectic singing and genre bending makes this song so good. I wish more Christian artists had this much authentic creativity.
Classic Audio Adrenaline...miss the 90s....these guys killed it
Yep. Totally.

The switch up in style between the chorus and the rest of this song make it still so compelling and interesting. Still listening and Loving it in 2017
2023 👍
Not to be outdone by their cover of The Hairbrush Song! 🥰
🎵...A melodic bunch of heavyweights... 🎵
Imo they have been become THAT,
in ALL of Christian music.
They are... LEGENDS.
This song is still so freaking good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, my goodness, that angel dabbed XD
finally a Christian rock song that ''rocks' and has balls
Immediately taken back to every youth rally and all-nighters in the 90's! Bittersweet.
We didn't have those in my area. Too many mormons.

2024 and beyond!
Awesome allegorical video about how Satan tempts us. The straight forward depiction of spiritual warfare by the dancers also makes it a great view.
That solo is insane! When I was a kid that hooked me immediately
2019. Still listening to this and being reminded on how God raised us when we were all still dead in Sin. Thank you audio adrenaline. :)
2022!!!

Mark Stuart mentioned at one of their concerts that this song scared a lot of people when it first came out. Now it's considered one of their most iconic songs.
Eh, I think the title and lyrics are pretty unique and creative.
I love the song! I used to acually sing this like all the time! Has a very unique spiritual meaning to it!
biblical...we are dead to sin and alive in Christ!!! Like some kinda zombie!!! Love it
Keep singin', bro!
1:13 "There's no temptation I can't evade" !
When facing temptation I play this song, so works!
This is the line that got my attention.
What an absolutely gorgeous picture.
This video is so conceptual. I love it.
Always had a crush on the "underwater" girl in this! Also really like all the symbolism in this video.
and i still can get tired of listening to this... I remember getting together with friends from church, firing up the N64 and listening to this... Great song, great album!
Dude my church preformed this last Sunday and it was awesome!
This song has popped in my head several times lately. Haven't heard it in well over a decade. Still an amazing track.

Gosh this song is still epic. But am I the only one who didn't find it confusing. It still has the same profound simplicity it did as a kid.
Well, given that very many folks ain't expressed no confusion about it, I'd reckon you ain't the only one.
