"I'm sending you back to your own dimension. And who knows? Maybe you'll even survive the trip." I love that line. The "Sit down and talk!" scene is also one of the best moments in Doctor Who history.
His regeneration needed the equivalent of an adrenaline shot and double dropping some viagra with red bull. It was the limpest, most let down of a regeneration I have ever seen.
"the best episode of Doctor Who". Oh so we're just going to ignore The Dalek Invasion of Earth, The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Invasion, The War Games, Inferno, Genesis of the Daleks, Logopolis, The Visitation, Earthshock, Caves of Androzani, Remembrance of the Daleks, Ghost Light and Curse of Fenric?
The Twelfth Doctor is definitely the most tragic out of all the doctors so far imo. He lost Clara and had to see his lover to her death then he lost Bill and the good version of the master.
I also thought that they would've done the regenerations cycles getting younger and younger. i.e. David eccleston to David Tennent to Matt Smith. Progressively getting younger. After the 11th regeneration cycle he got older again because of the start of a new regeneration cycle. That was just what I thought though
He also never knew what she did. He didn't see Missy betray the Master and the next time we see the Master he's back to being evil so the Doctor never knew she did the right thing
Peter wasn’t my first Doctor. Matt Smith was. But 12 became MY Doctor. His charisma and older, wiser side made me fall in love with him. And as a musician myself, he was the rock n roll Doctor! 12’s TARDIS was my favorite too. A lot of his tenure showed his past selves from Classic Who and made me appreciate those Doctors. Above all else, 12 taught me this: To be kind.
Danii Decay I think that if they did that, it would get redundant after a while. Husbands of River Song was just good, because it hadn’t happened before. If every Doctor did it, it wouldn’t be nearly as good
“A life this long, do you understand what it is? It’s a battlefield, like this one. And it’s empty. Because everyone else has fallen.” One of the most beautiful monologues ever written. Thank you Peter… for everything.
I keep coming back to this video. Peter Capaldi was brilliant as the doctor!! No other portrayal can touch his. He has so much depth, So much range, such gravitas. The moment he stepped into the role l knew. I knew we were in for one heck of a ride. The writing was sketchy, at times. The story lines patchy but Peter shined on. From the start right up to the tragic end one thing remained constant. He was born to play The Doctor!
Peter Capaldi in my view is absolutely magnificent as the Doctor. An absolute privilege to watch him play the part. He is my favourite Doctor and to me the best one. The Twelfth Doctor I feel has a rich and wonderful character arc. From doubting whether he is a good man to ending up as one of the kindest incarnations, it’s a fantastic journey. This era was superb. People may disagree and that’s their right but I just love it. So thank you Peter Capaldi. Thank you Steven Moffat. For giving me an era that I can happily rewatch time and time again. And for giving me my Doctor.
Mahir Tahseen I completely agree. While Capaldi’s writing wasn’t always the best, he was always amazing. He’s my favorite doctor because of how well he played the character.
"Sometimes, if their hearts are in the right place... And the stars are too... Children can hear it" One of the most underrated and beautiful lines in all of Who
Honestly every speech he gave in his run could bring a tear to your eye. His acting is so incredible, I honestly don’t know how anyone can follow him as a more passionate and down to earth doctor.
My WHOLE heart is always with the Twelfth Doctor. From "Kidneys!!" To "Doctor, I let you go.." There will never be another with the same darkness and alien qualities that he had. Peter is fantastic.
The reason why the 12th doctor will forever be my favorite. 53 minutes was NOT enough. He is an amazing of character and actor Peter Capaldi did incredible. He was my favorite from his first line. "KIDNEYS! I'VE GOT NEW KIDNEYS. I DON'T LIKE THE COLOR."
"Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind" it’s such a powerful sentence that i myself use in my daily life, the twelfth doctor influenced me so much in life and that’s why he will always be my favourite doctor and nothing can ever change that, Capaldi did the most amazing job as the twelfth doctor
I really like how Peter Capaldi portrayed the 12th Doctor. He acts like all the Doctors in the original, but still having the modern twist to it. It just so nostalgic to watch.
"I can't keep on being somebody else"- as a guy who keeps starting his life anew and travelling - the way he said that really hit home. 12 will always be my favourite 💙💙
To this day, I still get the biggest chill up my spine whenever I hear, “No sir, all thirteen!” I had no idea who Peter Capaldi was at the time, but he soon became my favorite Doctor and one of my favorite actors of all time.
Missy's reaction to "I am an idiot".. Always wondered if that's Missy reacting to the Doctor or Michelle internally laughing at Peter being an adorable dork and living his best life 😄
The best of the Twelfth Doctor... I can’t find any single moment who was not the best moment. Best Doctor ever, great actor, an amazing man. What else? If one day a mad scientist should make a clone of Peter, I preorder a copy, thank you.
@Héloïse Capaldwi This show was the first to make me bawl consistently (then I watched One Piece), but the moments that wrecked me: 'Father's Day,' 9's final words and regeneration, 10's final words and regeneration, Clara facing the raven, 'Heaven Sent,' Clara and 12 going their separate ways and 12's final speech and regeneration. 'Never be cruel or cowardly and if you are make amends. Laugh hard. Run fast. Be kind...'
I'm not gonna lie. Matt was my first doctor so when Peter came along I absolutely did not like him at first. Such starkly different behaviors. But as I've caught up both classic who and revival, I gotta say peter is probably my favorite doctor
I agree. Capaldi and Tennant are definitely tied for first, then probably Smith, and then Baker. Capaldi and Tennant are both fantastic Doctors, and they each have moments that send shivers down your spine and make you worried about him.
@@jonathongurnhill7693 He has fewer bad stories than both Tennant and Smith, he has 2 of the best series in NuWho, Series 9 and 10, and Series 9 is considered the best by many and includes probably the best episode in Doctor Who: "Heaven Sent". I watched an episode of the 13th doctor a little earlier today. Just as much time as this video, but I was moved only by this one. Which isn't even an episode. Maybe its the writing, or the actors, or both, but the Twelfth Doctor's journey was magical to me. It didn't demand anything from me, just a willingness to listen. Which is basically all that the Twelfth Doctor asked for. To just listen.
It's definitely the writing. Jodie Whittaker has played incredible and compelling characters when she's been able to work with better writers than Chibnall.

When he was announced I was overjoyed. He was a known super fan and Legit was coming in to play a role he dreamed of having for years. The first Oscar winning actor to play the Doctor. And when he came on screen...... He amazed me so much. Peter you were amazing
I liked Capaldi from the moment he landed in the TARDIS. Tom Baker was my first Doctor, but Capaldi’s irate Scottish righteousness hit home in a singular way. His sadness over losing Clara and then Bill was better than 10’s loss of Donna and Rose and 11 losing the Ponds together. It added a level of humanity to the character that no one else approached. The gravitas he brought to the role had been missing for many years.
When he regenerated, my reaction was very similar to Clara's. And then I lost it at the "Kidneys! I've got new kidneys! ...I don't like the color!" and that's when I fell in love with him. The fight with Robin Hood solidified it.

I think Missy would have many words if she heard her being described as Good.
He also never knew what she did. He didn't see Missy betray the Master and the next time we see the Master he's back to being evil so the Doctor never knew she did the right thing

I feel like he was a victim of some terrible writing for about 30-40% of his run, but Capaldi himself was brilliant.
Mahir Tahseen and Jodie is the victim of 100% terrible writing
Sofie Eden Exactly, which is sad because I genuinely want to see Jodie be a unique Doctor instead of just A Doctor.
Mahir Tahseen I completely agree. While Capaldi’s writing wasn’t always the best, he was always amazing. He’s my favorite doctor because of how well he played the character.
I'll never unhear his last words. I think that it was not the doctor who said them, rather Capaldi.
Most of the New Who Doctors have last words that feel like the actors say them.
Since David Tennant they are there last words as the doctors. When 11 regenerated the look when he saw Amy was Matt Smiths not 11s
