I’ve watched that scene countless times but it still makes me tear up a little bit every time. It really puts you into the head of the Doctor, you know what it’s like to have to deal with yet another regeneration.
Very underrated series. I am so grateful we got to see Peter Capaldi's take on the Doctor. He was marvelous! He let the Doctor go in the end, but I'll never let him go. Cheers, Peter.
Peter and Jenna are still my favorite pairing. How she handled the change from Matt Smith to Peter, how she was the giddy schoolgirl with Robin Hood to serious as the temporary Doctor, Jenna's work here is just marvelous. This was supposed to be her last season, but while the Christmas special was being shot, she decided to come back for one more. Capaldi is a master actor; most grumpy Scotsmen are (I should know). Yes, he loves her, but not in the way you might think, and he will prove just how much in the season that follows.
For me this is my second fav pair. My first will always be Tennant and Tate. 10 and Donna. (at least in revival doctor who). But a very close second. I disliked Jenna with 11. But with Capaldi, she worked so much better. Dont you miss a doctor that can carry a show even with meh scripts? heh.
I don't think she changed her mind while the Christmas special was being shot, that doesn't leave a lot of time for Series 9 to be written. I think she changed her mind after the Christmas special was written, but before Series 8 began shooting.
Series 8 is one of the best series of the show in its entire run!!! One of the best Doctors, the companion for better and the TARDIS interior was so cool!
That scene where capaldi gives his scared speech to Rupert Pink in Listen is actually reassuring. Like it kinda feels scary to watch in the dark on your own so u feel as scared like the kid but get reassured by him your ok. Such an amazing doctor and director.
The Twelfth Doctor is the reason I am in medical Science university right now to become a Science Officer/medical technician. To quote him "I am The Doctor. I've live for 200 years and not all of them we're good. I've made mistakes and it's about time that I did something about that."
I had a hard time adjusting to capaldi, I was growing up, and it seemed like the show was going backwards with an older doctor. I stopped watching. But then I seen the clip with matt ringing Clara, and it did to me what it did for Clara, it allowed me to see the doctor.....and now capaldi is the bomb.
When I first learned Peter was taking over from Matt, I didn’t think I would like him as the Doctor at first. But after watching his first episode….and the rest of series 8, he grew on me. And he continued to do so throughout the rest of his tenure. I miss him as the Doctor. But he will always be the Doctor even if he’s no longer with the series.
I always thought that the longer and wilder his hair got, the better his Doctor was. His start was a little awkward, as most new Doctor's usually are. By Twice Upon A Time, he absolutely mastered the role. From a fan who started with Tom Baker, PCap IS my Doctor.
Definitely not a perfect series but easily the most underrated one for me. Dont really like the Danny/Clara stuff but love every doctor moment and almost every other Doctor/Clara moment
